Textured Heart Framelit Valentine

I have purchased quite a few things from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Mini catalog.  I have been thinking about what is my favorite purchase.  My favorite this week is the new Hearts Collection Framelits.  We are using them on 2 cards for my class on Friday:  White on White Valentine, and the Take It to Heart Valentine.  I am addicted to Hearts and these Heart Framelits are really fun to use.  You can layer with them, turn any stamped image into a Heart cut out, use the coordinating stamp set and cut out the images, and make Heart frames.  I am sure there are more than 4 ways to use these Heart Framelits.  I guess I need more playing time to discover them!

I decided for this card I wanted to try multiple textures together and play with my Heart Framelits some more.  I also used a new stamp from the Occasions Mini catalog-Candy Conversations.  The small hearts are perfect for our Small Heart punch!  Have fun making this one.  Just remember to use your Embossing Folder first, then your Framelit because sometimes the paper “shrinks” some and won’t fit just right.

DIRECTIONS:
1.
Cut Whisper White card base 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Embossing.  Take Whisper White card base and line it up inside the Houndstooth embossing folder.  Run through Big Shot.  Next use the Stripes embossing folder with Pretty in Pink card stock and run through Big Shot.  Then use Melon Mambo and the Elegant Lines embossing with the Big Shot.
3.  Heart Framelits.  Place the largest Heart Framelit that isn’t scalloped in desired position on Pretty in Pink card stock.  Place the next smaller size inside the larger Heart in desired position.  To help them stay in place use a sticky note or blue painter’s tape to hold the framelit and paper in desired positions.  (I just learned the sticky note trick yesterday from my friend Karen!)  Next line up the smaller Heart Framelit in desired position over the Elegant Lines Melon Mambo.  Use the sticky note or painter’s tape again.
4.  Adhere Pretty in Pink Stripes Heart to Whisper White card front.  Next adhere Melon Mambo Heart inside Pretty in Pink Heart.  Use Snail , Tombow, or mini glue dots.
5.  Now for the stamping.  Stamp the Candy Conversations stamp on Whisper White card stock using Melon Mambo ink.  Use your scissors to cut out the Valentine sentiment and arrow.  Adhere over Heart Framelits using Dimensionals (I used Dimensional cut in half.)  Now punch out the desired Heart with the Small Heart punch.  Adhere with a Dimensional.
6.  Admire your Textured Valentine!  You can mix and match the different sizes of Heart Framelits and the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders for a variety of looks.

Happy Valentine Making!
