We are putting up our Christmas Tree on Monday so I just had to make another Ornament. This one uses the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit and one sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP). It is a quick and easy project for all crafters.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Designer Series Paper into two 5-1/2″ x 12″ pieces. 2. Cut out six of the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit. 3. Use your Paper Trimmer and scoring blade to score your Apothecary Accents Die Cuts in half. I used the top point and lined it up in the Paper Trimmer’s cutting groove. Fold each one in half along score line. 3a. Optional: Put a line of Dazzling Details along the outside edges of each die cut. It is much easier to do it now than after the Ornament is finished. You will have to wait for it to dry before completing the rest of the steps though. NOTE: I added mine after the Ornament was put together. You can only do alternate sections, wait for them to dry, then finish the others. Do whichever way you want. I need to order more Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details because the original clear Dazzling Details just doesn’t look as good. 4. Put Tombow Glue on one half of your die cut. Attach it to another die cut half lining up the outside edges. Do this with five of your die cuts. 5. Cut about 12″ to 24″ of Ribbon depending on how long of a hanging cord you want. Tie the cut ends together in a knot. This will help prevent the ribbon from slipping through and adds a decorative feature. 6. Run Tombow Glue along the center fold. Place your Ribbon along the fold and rub it to make sure it is secure. I also glued the Ribbon together that is in the Ornament. Make sure the Ribbon is laying flat and the knot is tight at the bottom of your Ornament. 7. Now attach the last die cut to the Ornament with Tombow Glue. The last edge may be harder to line up the edges, but you can do it with only a little extra work. 7. Let dry for at least 15 minutes or so before hanging on your Christmas Tree. (Or letting the children play with it.) Ribbon Note: I used the full 24″ and decided it was way too long. So I cut it in half at the top and tied a knot. Then I used ribbon off the roll to tie a bow on top. I am much happier with it now.
~You can alternate the DSP side which shows so you have two different patterns showing.
~Use Glimmer Paper in either just one color or two colors.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Daffodil Delight card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. Watch this video to learn more about basic card bases. 2. Cut your Designer Series Paper at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Sponge around the edges with Mossy Meadow ink. Watch this video for Edging Techniques. 3. Stamp the “Awesomeness” sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on Daffodil Delight card stock. Cut out with the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit. Sponge around the edges with Mossy Meadow ink. Punch out tthree of the Itty Bitty Accents Hearts from Silver Glimmer Paper. Attach two with Dimensionals as shown. 4. Stamp Happy Birthday in Mossy Meadow ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelit. Sponge around the edges with Daffodil Delight ink. Punch two hearts with the Owl Punch. Attach with a half Dimensional as shown. 5. Lay out your pieces as shown. Attach with the Daffodil Delight die cut with Dimensionals (making sure you remove all the staticy backing papers from the card front – oops!). Use Dimensionals as normal on the Whisper White die cut where it will touch the Daffodil Delight die cut. Stack two dimensionals on the rest so the height will be level. (Peel off the Dimensional backing on the first Dimensional, then add another Dimensional to the sticky part of the first Dimensional to get “stacked” Dimensionals.) 6. Add your last Silver Glimmer Paper Heart to the lower corner. I think I just used Fast Fuse to hold it on. 7. Write something in the card to let that special someone know how awesome they are. Remember to mail the card or hand deliver it.
I do LOVE making Banners and here is the Christmas Banner we made at my last class. Hope you have fun making one of your own. It is pretty easy and only takes a couple of hours to make. I made it while helping my daughter after she had her baby. I used a retired alphabet die because my DH could not find the current one to bring to me. I was just pleased with how many of the crafting supplies he found. 🙂
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Choose whether you want “Merry” all on one Banner as shown OR each letter on a separate Banner. The Basic Instructions here will be for “Merry” all on one Banner as shown. 2. Choose your letter dies. You can also use an e-cutter to cut your letters. The size of your letters helps determine which Framelits you can use and if you use a second Framelit shape to put the letters on. The Perfect Print Letters are about the same height as the letters I used but thinner and even the “M” fits all the way inside the smaller Apothecary Arts shape. 3. Choose your Framelits. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits. Do you want two Framelits shapes or just one under the letters. Would you like the word “Merry” on one banner or with each letter on a separate Banner? How to make the banner pictured above. 1. Choose the number of banners and banner shapes and put them in the order you want them. I used 10 Banner pieces. I started with the the one that is like an arrow pointing down, then the one with the notch, then the one with the rounded bottom and repeated this pattern ending with the same pointing down shape I started with. 2. Get out your Framelits and Big Shot. I cut five of the largest shape and four of the smaller shape from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. Then I cut four of the largest shape and five of the smaller shape from the Red Glimmer Paper. 3. Now to cut the letters. If you are using a Bigz die for the letters you can cut 2-3 at the same time if you lay them over the letters you need or stack the papers 2-3 high.
~Red Glimmer Paper: MERRY H I T A
~Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper: CRSMS 4. Use your Real Red or Cherry Cobbler Marker to edge the Dazzling Diamonds larger shape Framelits and also any letters that hang over and blend in. You don’t have to edge all the Dazzling Diamond letters, just the ones that need it. HERE is a video showing some edging techniques. 5. If you have any of the Red Glimmer letters that hang over and blend in, cut the letters out of Whisper White card stock and glue the the parts that need the emphasis under the Glimmer letters. Yes, you cut the letters at least in half. 6. Now to start gluing things together. Glue the “MERRY” on the first Banner. Now stamp the stars on with Cherry Cobbler ink. I will list the letter first, then the smaller shape color, then the larger shape color. DD=Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, Red=Red Glimmer Paper
~C in DD, Red small, DD large
~H in red, DD small, Red large
~R in DD, Red small, DD large (I edged my R with red because it hangs over)
~I in red, DD small, Red large
~S in DD, Red small, DD large
~T in red, DD small, Red large
~M in DD, Red small, DD large ( I also edged my M with a marker)
~A in Red, DD small, Red large
~S in DD, Red small, DD large 7. String the Jute cord through the grommet holes, making sure you do them the same way, either with the cord behind the banner OR in front of the banner. Choose which you like best. My Jute is behind each banner piece. 8. I cut the ribbons each about 6-7 inches long. I cut 11 sets. Hold them together and tie as one ribbon moving them so the silver ends up facing forward on both ends. Tie the first set on the left side of the “Merry” Banner, then between the MERRY and the C banners, repeat between each banner, and end on the right side of the S banner. 9. Tie some loops in your Jute and hang your Banner. Adjust the Banner pieces and the Ribbons. Adjust the hanging loops if necessary. When it is positioned the way you like it, you can cut off the excess Jute. 10. Admire your Sparkly Christmas Banner!
I made this card for my son and his wife’s anniversary. Clear embossing powder and a heat tool were used to prevent the silver ink from smearing and add an interesting look to the embossed card stock..
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Lost Lagoon card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. Watch this video if you need more instructions on making a basic card base. 2. Cut your Lost Lagoon card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Run through your Big Shot with an embossing folder. Gently rub your Silver ink pad over the raised embossed parts. I found that a swirling, circular motion worked best for this pattern. Now cover with Clear Embossing Powder. Remove excess. Melt with your Heat Tool. Hopefully you get the interesting coloring effect that I did. Attach to your card base with Tombow Glue. 3. Choose the Silver Fancy Foil Vellum pattern you want. I used the Hearts. Cut it out using the Heart Framelit of your choice. I believe I used the 2nd largest. Just make sure it will fit on your card in the direction you want. Make sure the Hearts on the Vellum are facing toward the top of your Heart! Apply Glue Dots behind each Silver Heart and attach to your card front. 4. Stamp the desired sentiments on the Silver Foil card stock with the Black StazOn ink. Let dry for a minute or two, then punch out with your Word Window or other punch. Attach in the desired positions on your Vellum Heart with Dimensionals. 5. You can emboss the envelope flap with the same embossing folder you used for your card front. Watch this video for directions. 6. You now have a wonderful Anniversary card to help someone celebrate.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Early Express card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. 2. Stamp your Harvest of Blessings image in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out with the coordinating Apothecary Accents Framelit 3. Cut your Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Cut your Ribbons at about 6-1/2″ long. Adhere them together with Sticky Strip on the back of the Naturals Ribbon. Use your Bone Folder to make sure the Ribbons stick together well. Decide where to position your Ribbons. Lay Sticky Strip in the desired position for your Ribbon on the Designer Series Paper. Position Ribbon on Sticky Strip and use your Bone Folder to adhere it well. Layer your Harvest of Blessings image in position with Dimensionals. 4. Use a strand or two of the Burlap Ribbon fibers to thread through your Button Holes. Adhere them to the Button with a Glue Dot or two. Adhere Button to the Natural Trim with several Glue Dots or Tombow Glue. 5. Adhere your decorated card front to your Early Espresso card base with either SNAIL or Tombow Glue. 6. Admire your Harvest of Blessings card and think of a few things you are Thankful for this season.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Cherry Cobbler card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. 2. Cut your Season of Style paper at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Adhere to card base. 3. Cut two pieces of Whisper White card stock at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Run one through your Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder. Use Tombow Glue to adhere it to your card front. Adhere the other piece to the inside of your card to write your message on. The embossed envelope is covering up this piece because I had already written the message on it. 4. Cut the following with your Big Shot:
~”love” in Real Red card stock using the Expressions Thinlits Dies. (Here is a video to help you)
~Use the largest Apothecary Accents Framelit and cut out your Season of Style paper.
~Cut the two large hearts out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelit – one in Silver Glimmer Paper, the other in Red Glimmer Paper. Punch two small hearts out with the Small Heart Punch.
~For the Money Holder: layer one piece Whisper White card stock and one piece Season of Style paper and cut them out with the smallest Envelope Liner Framelit. 5. Put everything in the desired positions on the front of your card. Adhere the “love” with Tombow Glue. Adhere everything else with Dimensionals. I did use Tombow Glue where the hearts overlapped. 6. Trim the top flap off your Season of Style Envelope Liner. Adhere the bottom and sides to the Whisper White Envelope Liner. Adhere this to the inside top section of your card as shown. Insert money in the amount you choose. 7. Emboss your Envelope flap with the Stripes embossing folder. (Here is a video if you need help.) 8. Enjoy giving this fun card to someone!
A friend of mine is getting married so I made a Silver Wedding Card using the Beautifully Baroque Stamp Set and Embossing Folder to coordinate with the Silver Gift Wrap. I love the NEW Beautifully Baroque Stamp and Embossing folder. I also decided to try sanding the Brushed Silver card stock. It looks wonderful! I hope you enjoy making one for someone special.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut two pieces of Brushed Silver card stock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ (card front) and 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (card base). 2. Emboss the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Brushed Silver card stock with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder and your Big Shot. Choose which side of the embossed card stock you want on front and sand it with the Sanding Block. I found it worked best to use circular motions when sanding. Brush off all sanding debris. Adhere embossed card stock to card base. 3. Stamp the large Beautifully Baroque image in VersaMark on Whisper White card stock. Cover the VersaMark ink with Silver embossing powder. Melt with Heat Tool. Cut around embossed image with scissors. Put Dimensionals on the back. 4. Stamp the sentiment with Black StayzOn on Whisper White card stock. Cut out with the Apothecary Art Framelit. Put Dimensionals on the back. 5. Put the Baroque Image and the Sentiment in the desired positions. Remove Dimensional backings and adhere in place. 6. Add Basic Rhinestones as desired. 7. I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White card stock piece inside to write on. 8. Admire your wonderful wedding card before giving to someone.

Here is a fairly quick card to make using a couple of Sneak Peek Spring Catalog items. I wanted to use the First Christmas stamp set, but wanted to do something different. I recently received my Preorder of Spring Catalog and Sale-a-bration items and decided I would use the NEW Oval Framelits to cut out the image. I decided to use the Layered Labels stamp set and the Apothecary Accents Framelit to go behind the image of Baby Jesus in the Manger. I cut out the star and used a NEW Large Rhinestone in the center. I even finally used the Mixed Medley Hostess stamp set I wanted so much.

We made a lot of these Christmas Gift Tags at my Tag Class last Friday. These Christmas Gift Tags are 3″ x 3″ when finished. They start out as a 3″ x 6″ piece of card stock scored and folded at 3″. I had set out a variety of Christmas stamps and punches for everyone to use. I also cut up the pages of the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper (#126908) that has the squares into 2-7/8″ squares for people to use on the tags. They do make cute Christmas Gift Tags. I also had out Dazzling Details in the Cherry Cobbler (#125585) and the Clear (#124117) for them to Bling up the Tags. I hope you have fun making your own 3″ x 3″ littleChristmas Gift Tags! Sorry, the little Stocking Punch is retired, but you could use the Mitten Punch (#127824)
