Vellum Butterfly Card

We made this Vellum Butterfly card at my last Downline Meeting.  This two layer Butterfly uses Designer Series Paper (DSP()for the bottom layer and Vellum for the top layer.  The Butterfly body and antennas are made from 1/8″ Ribbon.  Choose your DSP and coordinating cardstock and make your own Vellum Butterfly card.

SUPPLIES:

Ribbon:  Choose a coordinating color of 1/8″ Ribbon.  I used the Bermuda Bay Sale-a-bration Ribbon from the Shimmer Ribbon Combo Pack
Adhesives:  Tombow Glue

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut & Prep:
~Cut your Sweet Sugarplum card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1//2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
~Cut your DSP and Vellum Butterflies at the same time with the Bold Butterfly Framelit.
~Cut your Berry Burst card front at 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Run through your Big Shot with the Scatter Sequins Dynamic embossing folder.  Remember to leave out the bottom cutting plate.  Use your Big Shot Platform with NO Thin Die Adapter (OR Multipurpose Platform with both tabs open), cardstock inside the Dynamic embossing folder, then top cutting plate.  Glue to card base.
~Stamp your sentiment in Berry Burst ink on Whisper White cardstock.  Cut out with the coordinating Stitched Shapes Oval Framelit.  Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.
2. Assemble your Butterfly.
~Put 3 Glue Dots down the center of your DSP Butterfly Body.  Attach your Vellum Butterfly.
~Fold both Butterlies along the sides of the body so they bend as shown.
~Put a Glue Dot on the Butterfly and the end of the tail on both the Vellum and the back of the DSP.  Wrap your Ribbon around leaving 2-3″ of ribbon on both ribbon ends up by the butterfly head for the antenna.  Tie a knot.  Put a Glue Dot under the knot and Glue Dots beside the knot on each antenna.  Position the antennas and press down on all three Glue Dots.  Trim the antennas.
3.  Lay out your Butterfly and sentiment die cut on your card front.
~Attach your Butterfly with Glue Dots.
~Attach your sentiment die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Your card is finished.
