Copper Tropical Man’s Birthday Card

I made this Copper Tropical Man’s Birthday Card for my son.  This was the first time he has been home for his birthday in many years.  It is always nice spending time with him.  In fact, he is hosting my websites.  It is great to have computer tech guys in the family.
Nathan's Birthday CardSUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Happy Birthday Gorgeous Photopolymer stamps #143662
Ink:  VersaMark
Cardstock:  Shaded Spruce
Copper Foil Sheets #142020
Printer Paper
Big Shot:  Tropical Thinlits #146831
Heat Embossing:  Copper Embossing Powder #141636
Embossing Buddy #103083
Heat Tool #149053
Adhesives:  Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals
Stampin’ Dimensionals

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Shaded Spruce card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cur your Copper Foil Sheet at 4″ x 4″.  Center the square Tropical Thinlit and cut out with your Big Shot.
NOTE:  If you want to keep your Copper Foil Sheet shiny and smooth, use this Big Shot Sandwich:
~Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter (Or Multipurpose Platform with all tabs closed)
~Bottom Cutting Plate
~Copper Foil Sheet shiny side up
~Tropical Thinlit
~Printer Paper touching shiny side of Copper Foil and Thinlit
~Top Cutting Plate
If you want a distressed Copper Foil look, leave out the Printer Paper and use your “well-loved” cutting plates.
3.  Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of your Copper Foil square.  Cut some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals in half and put behind the leaves in the die cut.
4. Rub the front of your card with your Embossing Buddy to prevent random specks of embossing powder on your project.
~Lay your card base on a piece of clean printer paper.
~Lay your Copper Foil square on your card front to help determine where to stamp your sentiment.  I usually pay attention to the distance the bottom of the stamp is from the bottom of the card.
~Remove the Copper Foil square
~Stamp in VersaMark ink
~Dump Copper Embossing Powder over the stamped image area.  Dump the Embossing Powder back into the container.  Flick the back of your card front a couple of times to remove excess embossing powder.
~Melt the embossing powder with your Heat Tool until all the embossing powder is melted and shiny.
5.  Remove the backing from all the Stampin’ Dimensionals and attach your Copper Foil square to your card front.
Your Card is finished.

Using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with Thinlits

I have had some questions about using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with die cuts.  In this video, I show you how to use Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with detailed Thinlits.  The process is the same when using these Adhesive Sheets with Framelits.  This process turns whatever you are cutting out into stickers.

This Video is 7 minutes 12 seconds long.

SUPPLIES:
Big Shot:  May Flowers Thinlits #140276
Big Shot Die Brush #144262
Adhesive:  Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets #144106
Cardstock:  Highland Heather
Gorgeous Grape

TIPS:
1.  Figure out how much cardstock you need by laying out what you want to die cut on a piece of cardstock.  Measure how wide and how long the cardstock needs to be.  Cut to size if desired.  Cut your Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet the size needed.
2.  Rub the word side of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet with your Bone Folder.  Use the cut line at the edge to help you pull the word sheet off the adhesive and backing.  If the cut line is not there, use your fingernail at the corner to help separate the word sheet from the adhesive and backing.
3.  Attach the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of your cardstock.
4.  Lay out the dies on the cardstock with the adhesive sheet on the bottom.  Cut.  I usually go back and forth four times.  Pull out both cutting plates and flip over so you can see how well your Thinlit was cut.  If necessary, cut again with the bottom facing up this time.
5.  Lay out your die cut on your card front to determine where to put it.  Remove the white Adhesive Backing and stick to the card front.  You can rub your Bone Folder over the die cut to make sure it sticks well.

You can get your Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets and a variety of Thinlits & Framelits Dies from My Online Store.

Happiest Birthday Flower DSP Card

I just LOVE the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (DSP) with all the beautiful Flowers to add to my cards.  The piece I used came with the center blank to add a sentiment.  It was even already in the rectangle shape so I just had to cut it out.  If you just stamp on the front it is truly a quick and easy card.  If you mess up the stamping, you can easily stamp on cardstock and cut it out to add to your card front.
Flower DSP CardSUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Picture Perfect Birthday Photopolymer #145519
Ink:  Mossy Meadow
Cardstock:  Powder Pink
Mossy Meadow
Whisper White
Petal Promenade 12×12 Designer Series Paper (DSP) #146913

Adhesives:  SNAIL or Tombow Glue
Stampin’ Dimensionals

2.  Cut your Mossy Meadow card layer at 3-1/2″ x 5″.
3.  Cut your DSP at 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″.  Make sure and trim off all the white around the edges or leave an equal white border around the edges.
4.  Stamp your sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink.
~You can stamp directly in the center of the DSP if you want.
~OR you can stamp on Whisper White cardstock, then cut out with the Stitched Shapes Oval.   Attach to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Both ways look great.
5.  Attach your DSP and Mossy Meadow layers together.  Then attach to your card base.
Your card is finished.

~Whisper White card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
~Cajun Craze card layer at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.
~Whisper White stamping layer at 4″ x 5-1/4″
2. Stamp, then Color with Watercolor Pencils:
~Stamp your Paintbrushes Planter Pot image in Memento Black ink on Whisper White cardstock.
~Color the Planter Pot with your Cajun Craze Watercolor Pencil. Color darker where the lines are on the sides and under the pot lip.  Use the Blender Pen to blend out the pencil lines.
~Color all the paintbrush tips with the Crushed Curry and Early Espresso.  I just lightly colored the tips.
~Color the Cutting Blade with Smoky Slate.
~Color the Pencil with either Crushed Curry or Daffodil Delight.
~Color each Paint Brush Handle a different color.
I only used the Blender Pen on the Planter Pot.
3.  Cut out your stamped and colored image with the Stitched Seasons Framelit.  Get your Cajun Craze card layer and cut the next larger Stitched Seasons Framelit from the center.  Layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
4.  Stamp the Pen image in Memento Black ink on your 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White Stamping Layer.  Rotate the way the stamp faces:  up & down, or sideways.  They don’t have to be perfectly straight.  Just basically fill the card front with pen images.
5.  Put it all together.
~Attach your Cajun Craze card layer to your Whisper White card base.  Yes, this is the piece you die cut from the center.
~Put some SNAIL across the Whisper White Pen card front where you want your Ribbon to go.  Wrap the ribbon around the card front piece twice attaching it to the SNAIL to hold it in place.  Tie a bow off to the side.
~Now attach your Whisper White Pen layer to the Cajun Craze layer.  See you covered up the die cut hole.
~Attach your layered Paint Brushes in a Pot layered die cuts to your card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Your card is finished.

Scallop Rectangle Video

Have you wished Stampin’ Up! made Scallop Rectangle Framelits?  You can make YOUR OWN Scallop Rectangles using your Layering Squares Framelits!  It is EASY!!  Watch this short video to learn how.

This Video is 4 minutes long.

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock:  Whisper White or your choice
Big Shot:  Layering Squares Framelits #141708
Other:  Paper Snips

TIPS:
NOTE:  Use your Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter (Or Multipurpose Platform with all tabs closed), and a top and bottom Cutting Plate to cut your Scallop Rectangle.
1.
Cut your cardstock at least 3-1/2″ wide and 1/4″ longer than you want your Rectangle.
2.  Put your Framelit on the cardstock close to the center of your Big Shot.
3. Make sure your cardstock and Scallop Square Framelit are lined up straight on your Big Shot Platform.
4.  Leave at least 1/16″ cardstock showing between the Cutting Plate and the inside edge of your Framelit.  Run through your Big Shot.
5.  Trim off excess cardstock beside Scallop cuts.
6.  Turn your Framelit upside down so you see the Scallop Cutting Edges.  Place your partially cut Scallop cardstock on the Framelit lining up at least 2 Scallops on each side depending on how long you want your Scallop Rectangle to be.
7.  Place Framelit and cardstock on Big Shot Platform and cutting plate with cardstock still lined up in the Framelit Scallops.  Make sure the cardstock is lined up straignt.  Cover the part of the cardstock you want cut with the top Cutting plate leaving a gap between the edge of the cutting plate and the inside edge of the Framelit.  Run through your Big Shot.  Take out your Scallop Rectangle and use on your project.
