This Stars & Polka Dot Balloon Birthday Shaker Card is for my grandson’s 18th Birthday. His favorite color is purple. I decided to add some gold to it.

SUPPLIES:
Bundle: Balloon Festoon Stamps + Dies
Ink Pads: VersaMark ink pad
Gorgeous Grape ink pad
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape cardstock
Highland Heather cardstock
Blackberry Bliss cardstock
Basic White cardstock
Gold Foil Sheets
Window Sheet
Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine: Balloon Festoon Dies (part of Bundle above)
Heat Embossing: Heat Tool
Basics WOW Embossing Powder

Embossing Additions Tool Kit
Embellishments: Gold Shaker Stars (Retired. Choose any “Loose” Embellishment or punch or die cut small shapes to go inside.)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1-Cut Your Papers:
~Highland Heather Card Base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
~Blackberry Bliss Frame: 3-3/4″ x 5″
~Basic White Layer: 1/16″ less than 3-3/4″ x 5″
~Window Sheet: 1/16″ less than 3-3/4″ x 5″
~Basic White Card Insert: 4″ x 5-1/4″
~Gorgeous Grape for Balloons: 2-1/4″ x 3″ Cut two.
~Gold Foil Balloon: 2-1/2″ x 3-1/4″
~Gold Foil Layer: 4″ x 5-1/4″
2-Heat Embossing:
~Rub both Gorgeous Grape pieces with the Embossing Buddy pouch. This is VERY important to get great results!
~ Stamp Stars to cover one gorgeous Grape piece.
~Cover with Gold Embossing Powder. Remove excess. Melt with your Heat Tool.
~Stamp the other Gorgeous Grape piece with Dots.
~Cover with White Embossing Powder. Remove excess. Melt with your Heat Tool.
~Put away all your Embossing Powders.
3-Balloons:
~Use your Blending Brush and Gorgeous Grape ink to color the piece with the White Dots. Use a Kleenex to wipe the ink off the dots.
~Cut your Gold Balloon using the third from the smallest Balloon Die.
~Cut both Gorgeous Grape Balloons from the 2nd to the smallest Die.
4-Cut Your Frame:
~Cut off 1/2″ around the edges of your Frame and remove the center piece.
Technique:
~Line your Blackberry Bliss cardstock so one edge is along the 1/2″ mark.
~Move your cutting Blade to the 1/2″ mark on the Ruler.
~Long sides: Cut from 1/2″ to 4-1/2″
~Short sides: Cut from 1/2″ to 3-1/4″
5-Stamping with Gorgeous Grape ink on White cardstock:
~Hip Hip Hooray. Fussy cut out and glue to your Gold Balloon.
~Lay out your Balloons on your Basic White Layer to decide where to stamp, then stamp.
6-Shaker:
~Put Tear & Tape around all four sides on the back of your Frame.
~Attach your Window Sheet to your Frame.
~Put Foam Adhesive Strips about 1/8″ from your Frame Hole edges. Make sure not to leave any gaps! You don’t want your Shaker pieces to come out.
~Lay your Frame with the Foam Adhesive Strips facing up.
~Add in as many Shaker elements as you want.
~Center your White Layer with the stamped side down and attach to your Adhesive Strips.
~Turn over and shake. 🙂

7-Finish Your Card:
~Glue your Shaker to your Gold Foil Layer.
~Stamp around the edges of your Card Front with the Swirly stamp and Gorgeous Grape ink. It will only show 1/8″ around the edges.
~Glue your Shaker Layers to your Card Front.
~Lay out your Balloons where you want them.
~I put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the outer Balloon sides and glued the centers to the Window Sheet.
~The Gold Balloon gets attached with lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
~If desired, stamp one corner of your Card Insert with a design in Gorgeous Grape ink.
~Glue in your Card Insert.
