Sneak Peek: Layered Moroccan Nights Medallion

I received this Moroccan Nights stamp set at On Stage.  Sarah did a cool demonstration using it which inspired me to use the image in layers.  It does involve fussy cutting, but is pretty easy.  I used all the NEW 2016-2018 In Colors.  Enjoy making one of these cards yourself.  Here is a link to print up a Wish List for all the NEW things you need to come to your house.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Stamp your large medallion image on Whisper White card stock in each of the five colors.
2.  Decide how you are going to cut them and stack them.  You can choose the color order you want from bottom to top.  I will give instructions for the way I cut them.
3.  Cut out your images.  Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of each layer.
~Bottom Layer-Dapper Denim.  Cut around the outside edges of the stamped image using straight cuts.  You can do more curvy cutting if you want, but I just used straight lines.
~4th Layer-Emerald Envy.  Cut around the circles and the “U” shape that connects them.
~3rd Layer-Sweet Sugarplum.  Cut the “U” and the points that go to the center of the Emerald Envy Circles.
~2nd Layer-Flirty Flamingo.  Cut points around each flower petal end.
~Top Layer-Peekaboo Peach.  Cut in a circle around the small center flower.
NOTE:  Next time the order will probably be:  Sweet Sugarplum, Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, Emerald Envy, then Flirty Flamingo at the top.  The Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo, and Peekaboo peach need to be separated because they blend together so well and need the Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy to separate them.
4.  Cut your Thick Whisper White card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  SCORE and fold at 4-1/4″.  You really do need to score so your fold will look nice and crisp instead of crinkly because the card stock really does not like to fold without a score line.
5.  Now that your images are layered together, decide which sentiment to use.  I used one from the NEW Love & Affection stamp set.  Stamp your sentiment in Dapper Denim ink.
6.  Stamp the two flowers in Peekaboo Peach ink either next to your sentiment OR (if desired or if you mess up stamping the image and get ring around the rubber) you can stamp your flowers on a separate piece of Whisper White card stock, punch them out with the 3/4″ circle punch, and sponge around the edges with Peekaboo Peach ink.  Attach to your card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
7.  Attach your layered Medallion with Stampin’ Dimensionals to your card front.

Happy Card Making!
