Shabby Chic Valentine & All Occasion Cards

Happy Valentine's Day!Here is a Shabby Chic Valentine card that was originally an All-Occasions card.  It uses the new Distressing Tool from the Spring 2013 Catalog.  I normally don’t like the distressed look, but this was fun to do so you might see more.  I LOVE the distressed look on the Core’dinations card stock!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Raspberry Ripple card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Sponge around the edges with your Sponge Dauber and Primrose Petals ink.
2.  Cut your Primrose Petals Core’dinations card stock at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Run through your Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  Use the Distressing Tool around the edges.  (Watch my Edge Techniques video to see how I use the Distressing Tool.  It is at the end.)  I like to use the center blade to get a more rolled effect.  Use the Sanding Block and sand the raised embossing using circular motions.  Sand until you get the look you want.  Put SNAIL on the card base and adhere your embossed layer.
3.  Tie your Bow.  I gave each stamper 14″.  I used 12″ when I cut it off the spool.
4a.  Valentine Card.  Cut a Heart from the More Amore Designer Series Paper.  Stamp the “Be My Valentine” sentiment in Raspberry Ripple ink.  (Next time I think I will Heat Emboss it with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.)  Sponge the edges using your Sponge Dauber and Primrose Petals ink.  Adhere to Paper Doily using Dimensionals.  (Note:  I have been using a double layer of Dimensionals to adhere these Hearts.)  Position Paper Doily and Ribbon as desired.  Adhere the Paper Doily with SNAIL on the solid center.  Adhere Ribbon with Glue Dots.
4b.  All Occasion Card.  Stamp “Feel Goods” sentiment on Whisper White card stock using Raspberry Ripple ink.  Cut around it with scissors.  Don’t worry about getting it perfectly rounded because the Distress Tool will do that for you.  Now use your Distress Tool to round the edges.  Sponge the edges with your Sponge Dauber and Primrose Petals ink.  Lightly sponge the center of your Paper Doily.  Adhere your Sentiment with Dimensionals.  Position Ribbon and Paper Doily as desired.  Adhere the Paper Doily with SNAIL on the solid center.  Adhere Ribbon with Glue Dots.
5.  Admire your Shabby Chic Card!
