My Five Favorite Stamping Tools are the things I use every time I am stamping. If you are a beginning stamper these are what I consider the basic tools.
CARDSTOCK:
I love Stampin’ Up! cardstock! I use most of the colors all year round. Some colors I use mostly for Fall and Halloween. I like the heavy-weight cardstock. The cardstock I used before was not as heavy duty and crinkled and did not score and fold well.
PAPER TRIMMER:
You will need something to cut your cardstock with. The Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer also has a Scoring Blade which is nice to have. You will need to change your cutting blades occasionally. Just remember where you put your blades. I have used my original cutting blade for over a year.
INK PADS:
I use the Tuxedo Black Memento ink pad almost every day I stamp. If you don’t want a black ink pad you can choose another dark color. I always get the Ink Refill when I buy an Ink Pad. This allows me to keep my ink pads moist enough to get great stamping results every time.
STAMPS & BLOCKS:
Stampin’ Up! makes all of their stamps. They all require either Stamp Blocks or the Stamparatus.
Cling Rubber: These are red rubber stamps that last for years. They come with a sticky label you attach to each stamp. This sticky label allows your stamp to cling securely to either a Stamp Block or the Stamparatus.
Photopolymer: These are clear stamps. These are perfect to stamp just where you want. There are also Tw0-Step stamps where you can stamp one on top of another image to get a more detailed look. Certain colors of ink may stain the clear Photopolymer, but does not affect the use or condition of the stamp.
Distinktive Stamps: Get photo-realistic style images with Distinktive stamps, available only from Stampin’ Up! Distinktive stamps have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step. They’re available in red rubber and photopolymer. Look for the Distinktive icon. Distinktive is patent pending.
ADD SOMETHING EXTRA:
Stampin’ Up! has many Ribbons and Embellishments to choose from. I love that the cardstock, ink pads, markers, coloring tools, embellishments, and ribbons all color coordinate. It takes the stress out of trying to get things that match or look good together.
