Christmas Fancy Favor

Winter & Christmas Card & Project IdeasI  really enjoy making Fancy Favors!  This is a quick and simple one to make.  Although make sure and be really careful with the Hot Glue as I got quite a lovely blister on the end of one finger.  If you want more ways to use your Fancy Favor die, check out my Online Fancy Favor Class on my Classroom Site.  You will learn four more ways to use your Fancy Favor die.
Christmas Fancy Favor & Rosette

SUPPLIES:
Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper  #126896
Real Red card stock
1-1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch #127811
Regals Designer Buttons #119744
Very Vanilla 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon #119960
Sticky Strip
Hot Glue Gun (be careful!)
Silicone Craft Sheet #127853
Big Shot:  Fancy Favor XL Bigz Die #115965
Rosette XL Bigz Die #125594

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Choose 1 sheet 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.  Cut a 5-1/2″ x 12″ piece and a 2″ x 12″ piece.
2.  Use the 5-1/2″ wide piece to cut your Fancy Favor using your Big Shot.  Use the 2″ wide piece to cut your Rosette die.  Just line up the edge of your paper so it is over the edge you desire and cut with your Big Shot.
3.  Make your Rosette.  If you want your Rosette diameter smaller than 4″ now is the time to trim the flat end to half of the diameter you want.  Fold all the score lines on your Rosette.  Put a glob of Hot Glue on your Silicone Craft Sheet.  Press your Rosette Pleats tightly together and press the flat ends into the glob of Hot Glue.  Leave for a few seconds then remove.  Trim away any excess Hot Glue (which has now cooled) with scissors.  Fan out your Rosette into a circle and adhere the end together with Hot Glue.  Carefully press the ends together-please don’t burn yourself!  Place the Rosette against the Fancy Favor and decide which side will be the front for each.
4.  Now to decorate your Rosette.  Punch a 1-1/4″ Circle in a coordinating card stock.  I used Real Red card stock.  Place a small amount of Hot Glue on the center of your Rosette and adhere your Scallop Circle to the front center of your Rosette.  Thread the 1/8″ Ribbon through your button holes.  (Note:  It helps if you trim a sharp point at the end of your ribbon.)  Put some Hot Glue on the center of your Scallop Circle and adhere your button.  (I put the Hot Glue on the button and it slid onto the end of my finger-double ouch!!)
5.  Assemble your Fancy Favor.  Fold all score lines.  Lay your Fancy Favor with the front facing up.  Put Sticky Strip on the side tab next to the score line.  Place Sticky Strip on the ends of both the Rectangle bottom tabs and one Triangle tab.  Flip your Fancy Favor over and put Sticky Strip at the end of the other Triangle tab.  Adhere the side tab to the edge of the Fancy Favor.  Remove Sticky Strip backing from all the bottom tabs.  Fold down the Rectangle tabs first, then the Triangle with the Sticky Strip facing up, then the last Triangle tab.  Rub your Bone Folder or fingers to adhere the Sticky Strip well.
6.  Put some Hot Glue on the back of your Rosette and place on the front of your Fancy Favor.
7.  Fill with goodies or a gift.  Admire your wonderfully festive Fancy Favor.

This was a fun project to make except for the “Glue Gun Incident”!
