Birthday Balloon Card

I used the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper on this birthday card for my son.  I like it’s bright, cheerful colors!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Coastal Cabana card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to card base.
3.  Cut two strips of Coastal Cabana card stock.  One measures 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″, the other is 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.  Use your Square Punch (or scissors) to cut the end of your Banner on the 1-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ strip.  Emboss the 1-1/4″ strip using the Woodgrain embossing folder.  Use the wider strip to cut the Banner end off with scissors.  Adhere the two Banner pieces together as shown.
4.  Color the Birthday Cake stamp with Markers.  I used Summer Starfruit for the candle flames, Raspberry Ripple for the Candles, Bermuda Bay for the Cake and Cake Stand, and Island Indigo for the Happy Birthday.  Remember to remoisten the ink on the stamp before stamping it on Whisper White card stock.  Punch out with the Decorative Label Punch.
5a.  Silver Embellishment Option.  If you are lucky enough to still have one of these:  Put in the brads and bend the tabs so the won’t show.  Hold them in place with Glue Dots.  Put several Glue Dots around the edge to hold the punched Birthday Cake image from step 4.  Now add the Punched Birthday Cake to the Silver Embellishment trying to center it inside the opening.
5b.  Card Stock Option.  If you don’t have the Silver Embellishment then punch two Decorative Labels from Bermuda Bay card stock.  Cut one in half lengthwise the other widthwise.  Trim off the points at the end.  Put SNAIL on the back of your Punched Birthday Cake.  Layer the lengthwise Labels first.  Add more SNAIL and add the widthwise Labels trying to keep the same amount of Bermuda Bay showing around the Birthday Cake image.
6.
Place Banner and Birthday Cake image in the desired positions.  I adhered the Banner with Dimensionals and the Silver embellishment with Glue Dots.  If I was using Option 5b I would put Dimensionals under the Birthday Cake image and adhere the Banner flat using SNAIL.
7.  Enjoy this colorful Birthday Card!
