Artistic Etchings “Chalkboard” Card

When I first saw the Chalkboard Technique I was pretty intimidated thinking it would be hard or complicated.  Let me tell you….. It is SO EASY!!!  It also requires very few supplies to make a great impression!  So give it a try and let me know if you think it is easy.  We made this card at my last Stamp Class.  It was a hit!
Artistic Etching Chalkboard Card(Note:  The Whisper White ink that is sponged on shows up a LOT MORE in the photo than in real life.)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Cherry Cobbler card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Basic Black card stock at 4″ x 5-1/4″.
3.  Here is how you do the Chalkboard Technique.  Put a piece of printer paper on your work surface to help contain the embossing powder.  Lay your Basic Black card stock layer on top of printer paper.  Stamp Atristic Etchings  and Seasonal Sayings images in the desired position using VersaMark ink.  Yes you can stamp all of the images at once.  Then dump your white embossing powder on top of you inked card stock, making sure to cover all the stamped images.  Pour excess embossing powder back into container.  Flick the back of your card stock to get the last bit of excess embossing off your card stock.  Use your Heat Tool on high to melt the embossing powder, being careful not to burn your fingers.  TaDa!  You now have your basic Chalkboard images.
4.  Cut the tips of your ribbons into a “V” by folding your ribbon in half and cutting towards the bottom edge.  Adhere to desired place on card.  I ran SNAIL along the back of the ribbons to hold them in place.  Adhere the part of the ribbon that hangs over to the back of the Basic Black layer.  Add the desired clip.
5.  Adhere your Basic Black layer to your Cherry Cobbler card base with SNAIL.
6.  If you want the “Chalkboard Dust” effect:  Get a light layer of Whisper White Craft ink onto your stamping sponge and swipe at your “Chalkboard” until you get the desired effect.
7.  Admire your trendy card!

Happy Stamping!
