TIP #1: SHARPENING YOUR CUTTING BLADE

~Get about 6″ x 12″ of Aluminum Foil – yes, from your Kitchen. You can use either the regular Foil or the Heavy Duty. I always use regular.
~Fold your Foil into thirds so it measures about 2″ x 12″.
~Place the Foil in your Paper Trimmer and cut about 1/8″ strips until the Foil gets too narrow to easily cut.
~Throw the Foil strips away.
~Test your Cutting Blade on some cardstock. It should be a smooth cut.

~I might do this every 6 months or so to keep my blade sharp. I don’t replace my blades very often.
~Eventually your Blades will wear out and you will need to replace them.

TIP #2: CLEANING OUT THE GROOVE

~Clean out the Cutting Groove that your Cutting Blades runs through. Use a Paper Piercer from your Take Your Pick Tool or you can use a toothpick. If you use a tooth pick you will need to be more gentle so the toothpick does not break. You will be surprised how much gunk comes out.

TIP #3: CLEANING THE SURFACE

~You can wipe it clean with a wet cloth and then dry it with a towel.
~If you get adhesives on it like I sometimes do you can use an Adhesive Remover Eraser. Stampin’ Up! used to sell them. You can now get them on Amazon. These Erasers last for YEARS!

TIP #4: MAKING THE RULER NUMBER ON THE CLEAR ARM EASIER TO READ:

~The numbers on the clear Arm that you raise and put your cardstock under are really hard to read when using darker colors of cardstock.
~Cut two strips of Basic White cardstock that measure 1 mark less than 3/8″. You will need the strips to measure 15″ long total.
~Use Tear & Tape or Stampin’ Seal to attach the strips under the Ruler Measurement Lines.
