Today is my grandson’s 4th Birthday and he LOVES Super Heroes! So I made him this Super Card using the Starburst Framelits and the Little Letter Thinlits. Hope he likes it!

Card Stock: Night of Navy
Daffodil Delight
Real Red
Big Shot: Starburst Framelits #132967
Little Letters Thinlits #133730
Heat Embossing: Crushed Curry Embossing Powder #133753
Heat Tool
Other: Tombow Glue
Parchment Paper OR Wax Paper from your grocery store where the baggies and foil are.
Stylus or Toothpick to help remove letters from Thinlits.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut your Night of Navy card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and Fold at 4-1/4″. Watch this video for more card base details.
2. Cut your Starbursts from Daffodil Delight card stock. I used the 2nd largest and the smallest. Edge your smallest Starburst with your Real Red Marker. Watch this Video for more details on Edging Techniques.
3. Lay the largest Starburst in the desired position. Rub your Embossing Buddy over the area you will stamp and include the surrounding areas. Stamp your sentiment (Happy Birthday) in VersaMark ink. Remove your Starburst and cover stamped sentiment with the Crushed Curry Embossing Powder. Remove excess including giving the back a couple of flicks with your fingers to get off the extra little specks. Now melt the Embossing Powder with your Heat Tool. 4. Cut our your desired letters. Here is the “Sandwich”: Megnetic OR Multipurpose Platform (all tabs closed), cutting plate, card stock, Parchment OR Wax Paper, Letter Thinlits, top cutting plate. I use a larger piece of Parchment Paper and put all the letters I need on top of it. Might as well conserve our crafting energy by running through as much as possible at one time through our Big Shot. Run through a second time if you need more than 1 of a letter. 5. Now to put the letters on the Starburst. Lay out both words in the desired positions. Now take the center letter of the top word, put a thin line of Tombow on the back and glue it in place. This letter will help you place all the other letters so they look even. Now glue the letter next to it and continue until you finish the top word. Work from the center letter out in one direction leaving a small space between letters and making sure they are straight up and down (in this case). I usually finish the end of the word, then go and work back to the beginning of the word. So I glued down the “P” as my center letter, then the “E”, then the “R”. Then I did the “U”, and finished up with the “S”.
6. Find the center letter(s) of the bottom word. In my case there are two center letters. Use the middle letter of the top word and mentally draw a line straight down the center of the Starburst. Place your letters either on top of this mentally drawn line if you have one center letter OR on each side of this invisible line if you have two center letters. Glue down the rest of the letters working out from the center letters. I did the “I” and “J” as my center letters, then the “A”, and “H”, then moved to the “L”, then finished with the “E”. 7. I added the center Starburst as my grandson is now in the “Sunbeam” class at Church. He is really excited to be a Sunbeam and in with the bigger kids instead of the Nursery.
8. I put a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Daffodil Delight in the center of the card so he could read my writing.
