Make this fun Child’s Birthday Card for an Owl Lover. Owls are quite trendy with both children and adults. This card can be given to anyone who loves Owls. This Owl Card is going to my 3 year-old grandson.
INSTRUCTIONS: Note: This card is going to a 3 year-old so I am adhering everything with Tombow Glue. You can use the adhesive of your choice.
1. Let’s put together our Owl first.
~Punch your Owl and 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle from Baked Brown Sugar card stock. Cut your Scallop Circle in half to use for the wings. Trim off the feet.
~Punch the lower part of the Owl body from Pumpkin Pie. You need just enough body to attach behind the Owl to allow the feet to stick out.
~Punch the Vest out of Gumball Green card stock. Use your Simply Scored Tool and score lines across the vest at 1/8″ intervals-every line. Glue onto Owl Body.
~Cut a small Pumpkin Pie triangle for your Owl Beak. Glue it on above the “V” in the vest.
~Punch two Whisper White eyes. I used the medium circles on the Owl Punch. Glue onto your Owl face, lapping over the Beak if necessary. Color the eyes with Black Marker so your Owl is looking in the direction you want him to.
~Now glue your wings to the back of your Owl in the desired position. (You can also wait and do this later if desired.) 2. Emboss your Designer Frame in Bermuda Bay card stock. Trim around the edges with Scissors or Paper Snips. 3. Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock at 1-7/16″ x 2″ and glue inside your Designer Frame. 4. Now let’s glue our Owl onto the Whisper White inside the Designer Frame. Add the wings now if you haven’t. You can also cut a Party Hat from the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper for your Owl to wear. 5. Cut your Bermuda Bay card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. Cut your Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper (I chose the Balloon design) at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Adhere the Balloon paper to the card base. 6. Cut a strip of 1″ x 5-1/2″ of Gumball Green. Use your Fringe Scissors to cut grass leaving about 1/4″ at the bottom that is not cut. I place the tips of my scissors about 1/4″ from the bottom, then cut. Put Sticky Strip along the back of the 1/4″ uncut grass. Since this card is going to a 3 year-old, I also put a strip of Sticky Strip on the card front so the upper edge was just lower than 1″ from the bottom edge so the grass will hopefully not break off. Adhere your grass to your card front. 7. Now stamp the desired sentiment from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out the Banner with the large Bitty Banner Framelit. Then glue it onto a scrap of Bermuda Bay card stock and trim so there is about a 1/8″ Bermuda Bay border on your Banner. 8. Now lay your framed Owl and your Banner in the desired positions. Glue down the Frame first. Add your Baker’s Twine or Ribbon on top of your Owl’s Wing and glue it down so it goes to the back of your Banner. Glue your Banner down. Ooops! My Banner sticks off the card a little. 🙂
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Make the flower following the video instructions. 2. Cut your card stock: One 3-1/4″ square in Perfect Plum. Four 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ in Elegant Eggplant. 3. Emboss your card stock. Decide what part of the Flower Garden image you want to show and emboss it the same on all your card stock pieces. Adhere the embossed card stock pieces with Tombow Glue. 4. Fold in the box bottom: sides first (the two parts that are the same), then fold in the part with the “U”, last is the part with the tongue. Flatten it from the inside if necessary. 5. Adhere your Spiral Flower with Tombow Glue. 6. Fill with a treat or small surprise before you give it to someone special.
This Scrapbook Album is another Paper Pumpkin project. It comes with 8 wooden people, 3 Binder Rings, chipboard front and back covers, 4 solid color tabbed dividers, 8 pages in 4 different patterned papers, and 1 memorbilia bag. All pages and covers have 3 punched holes. The front cover has the words “Real Life” that you can easily punch out if desired. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FRONT COVER: 1. I did not want a plain chipboard cover so I use the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper #132994 to put on the front cut to 5″ x 8″. I put it behind the cover and traced the letters with a pen. I cut the letters out with Paper Snips. I used Tombow Multipurpose Glue to adhere the Designer Series Paper to the front cover putting thin glue lines around the edges, holes, and letters, and some in the center. 2. I chose a wood person for each of my grandchildren. I used the word bubble stamp that came with the Kit to stamp 3 word bubbles each in Strawberry Slush and Island Indigo. I then wrote each child’s name in the coordinating Marker. I used Tombow to adhere the wood people and the word bubbles. 3. I will be adding pictures of my grandchildren taken since November to the pages. I will use 1 Tab per month for November, December, January, and February. There are lots of die cuts with sayings and stickers on to embellish the pages. The back of each patterned page has lines on for Journaling.

I am behind in posting some of my Paper Pumpkin projects. Here is one that was meant for Christmas. The other side of the big Tag says “Noel”. Since I just made these cards Saturday, I did not keep with the Christmas theme and used some of my other stamps and tools. There were plenty of Dimensionals included in the Kit for me to be my usual “Dimensional Queen” self! I will let you know above each card the extra things I used that were not in the Kit. Yes, the little stars came stitched together already. A Real Red Stampin’ Spot (1″ ink pad) came with the Kit. I did use Glue Dots to attach a few of the stars in each strand.

This fun new Hexagon Hive Thinlit is a fun background for this Valentine card. Use a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to turn your Hexagon Hive Thinlit or any die cut into a sticker! Video is at the bottom of this blog post.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut Your Whisper White card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. *2. Watch the Video below for this step. Cut your Cherry Cobbler card stock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Cut a piece of Multipurpose Adhesive sheet the same size. Peel off the words on the Adhesive Sheet and adhere it to your Cherry Cobbler card stock. Run though your Big Shot using this sandwich: Magnetic OR Multipurpose Platform (all tabs closed), cutting plate, card stock with adhesive side touching cutting plate, Wax Paper, Hexagon Hive Thinlit, and your top cutting plate. Poke out the hexagons that are cut. Not all of them will come out-they are not supposed to! Set aside the hexagon stickers for another project. Peel off the adhesive backing and adhere to your card front. 3. Stamp your Banner Blast Hearts in Real Red ink inside each full hexagon. Use your Stamp-a-ma-jig if you want them perfectly placed, or just try to stamp in the center like I did. 4. Stamp your “Love” and “When I thing of YOU I can’t STOP SMILING” sentiments in Real Red in on Whisper White card stock. Cut out the “SMILING” sentiment with the coordinating Chalk Talk Framelit. Hand cut your “Love” . Put Dimensionals on the back of both sentiments. 5. Cut your Silver Glimmer Paper Heart out with the desired size Heart Framelit. I used the third one from the center. Use your Small Heart Punch to punch out your Red Glimmer Paper Heart. Put Dimensionals on the back of both Hearts. 6. Position the “LOVE” and Small Red Glimmer Paper Heart on top of the Silver Glimmer Paper Heart. Adhere in the desired positions with the Dimensionals. Position your Silver Glimmer Paper Heart and your “Smiling” sentiment in the desired positions on your card front. Adhere. 7. You can use some of the Hexagon Stickers you made to decorate the corners inside your card and on the outside of your envelope. I have not yet tested to see how well they make it through the mail on the outside of an envelope.

1. Choose a Greeting Card, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Landscape

Choose the desired Build a Banner Punches. They will be really large so resize them small enough to fit the page size. You can make them longer and narrower by using the center gray boxes and distorting their proportions. I colored the outer two Pink Pirouette and added a Size 6 Primrose Petals Mat. The center Banner is colored Primrose Petals with a Raspberry Ripple Size 6 Mat. To get the angle: Select a Banner and type “45” in the little dark gray box to the right of the word “Rotate”. 5. Choose the Be Awesome Today stamps you want for each Banner. I did a 45 angle just like the banners. The top stamp is colored Brilliant Blue, the center is colored Whisper White, the bottom stamp is Rich Razzleberry. 6. Now choose a Pointed Real Red Designer Rosette. Resize it smaller so it will fit in the corner. Add an Antique Brad and resize it also. Now select both the Rosette and the Brad and Group them by holding down CTRL (PC) or Command (Apple/Mac) and the “G” to Group them. Now Copy and paste twice and move to the desired positions. Add another single brad to the upper right corner. 7. Now to make everything POP! Add your Drop Shadows.

I don’t know about you, but I am in the mood for some Spring Flowers! The So Very Grateful stamp set has the beautiful Flowers I have been looking for! I even got to watercolor them with my blender pen! Enjoy!!
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Pacific Point card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. 2. Cut your Tempting Turquoise at 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″. Cut two opposite sides using your Adorning Accents Edgelits. Make sure the “bump out” is in the same place on each side. This is where having two comes in nicely! 3. Stamp your Flower image on Whisper White card stock with StazOn Black Ink. I colored with the Marker brush tip in the spot on the flowers I wanted to be darker. I then used the Blender Pen to blend the color in the white area. Be careful and gentle as too much pressure or working in an area too long will cause the paper to start coming apart. I did the center flower and medium rose in Pacific Point. I did the smaller blueish flowers in Pool Party. The small pink flowers were in Blushing Bride. (I think.) I just colored the leaves without using the Blender Pen. 4. When finished coloring, cut out the Flowers with the desired Window Frames Framelit. Also cut TWO of the same size Framelit from Pacific Point card stock. 5. Take the two Pacific Point Window Frames and cut them in half. Then trim straight down from the outside of the points. Adhere one at a time to the back of your stamped Whisper White Window Frame leaving the desired mat around the White. Continue until all four pieces are adhered to the back. HERE is a link showing the same technique with the Top Note die. 6. Stamp your sentiment In Pacific Point ink on Whisper White card stock. Cut out with the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelit. 7. Position all pieces as desired and adhere them to the card front. 8. Enjoy your brightly colored Spring Flowers card!
