Would you like to add some color to your Embossing Folder image? It is a quick technique. Just watch the video to learn how easy it is to do. After coloring on both the wide and narrow parts of this embossing folder, I like the look of the coloring on the narrow part the best. Try coloring on both sides to see which you like best.
This Video is 13 minutes long.
BASIC TECHNIQUE SUPPLIES: Big Shot: Lovely Floral Dynamic Embossing Folder #148048 (Available May1-31 as part of the Gotta Have it All Bundle #149526. Available June 1st by itself.) Markers: Choose 1 for your Flower Color and a Green for your leaves. I used Rich Razzleberry and Garden Green.

This is the prototype for my Mother’s Day Cards. This one will be for my Mom because she likes pastels. I will change the colors for each of my daughters and daughters-in-laws because they like totally different colors. Hopefully I will remember to take a picture before I mail them out.
INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Cut your Powder Pink card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″. 2. Cut your Powder Pink card front at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Use one of the Petal Pair embossing folders on one side of your card front and run it through the Big Shot. Repeat with the other side. Glue to your card base. 3. Die cut your flower pieces and leaves.
~Wild Wasabi Leaves: Cut three leaves with the May Flowers Framelits.
~Berry Burst top flower layer: Use both the flower petal die AND the framelit that fits around it to cut out this flower. You can put 1-1/2″ x 2″ piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet on the back of the cardstock BEFORE cutting. This will turn it into a sticker. Otherwise just glue it onto the bottom flower layer.
~Fresh Fig bottom flower layer: Use the same Framelit that went around the flower petal die to cut this layer.
~Attach top flower layer to bottom flower layer.
~Attach leaves to the back of the flower. I used Tombow Glue. Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the flower.
~Now cut the desired Stitched Shapes Circle in Powder Pink. Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back.
~Stamp your Happy Mother’s Day on Whisper White cardstock in Berry Burst ink. Punch out with the Classic Label Punch. Put Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back. 4.Put it all together:
~Lay all the pieces on your embossed card front where you want them.
~Put Tombow Glue on the back of the Doily in the center circle. Attach to card front.
~Attach the Stitched Shapes Circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals centering over the Doily.
~Attach the Flower and Leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals behind the flower and put on the Stitched Shapes Circle.
~Attach your sentiment with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals towards the bottom of the card.
Your Card is finished. 5. Envelope-Optional: Emboss your envelope flap with one of the Petal Pair embossing folders.

April’s Paper Pumpkin was pretty fun to make. It has 5 different card styles and a box to put them in. You can also cut these small 3″ x 6″ card bases in half and use on regular size card bases. You could also attach one of the envelopes to a regular card base with one of the small cards inside or even just a 3″ x 3″ piece of stamped cardstock inside. There are lots of possibilities with this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit.
I used the Kit supplies plus Paper Snips and my own glue dots and SNAIL.

~Stamp a sentiment on your Banner die cut. Attach to Life Saver with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
CARD BOX Box: ~Crease all score lines with your Bone Folder. Fold into shape so you will know how it folds and everything attaches.
~Peel Adhesive backing off one end. Fold end up. Fold small tabs in over end. Carefully fold Adhesive side down, making sure corner edges meet before folding down the adhesive part.
~Repeat with the other end. Box Cover:
~Fold Box Cover and crease all folds with your Bone Folder.
~Get the Island Indigo Anchor and punch out the hole at the top.
~Stamp the Small White Circle die cut with a decoration-such as the sailboat-and a small sentiment.
~Tie the twine around the Box Cover parallel to the open edges leaving enough Twine to tie a bow. Thread the Anchor and Small Circle die cuts through one side of the Twine. Tie Twine into a bow. I attached the Anchor with some Glue Dots.
FINISHING ~Match each card with an envelope and stack the five cards. There are three envelope colors to choose from. Insert them into the box.
~Slide the Box Cover over the box.
~You can now give this as a gift or save to use the cards and attach them to gifts or just give to someone needing to feel you care for them.
TIPS: NOTE: Use your Big Shot Platform with Thin Die Adapter (Or Multipurpose Platform with all tabs closed), and a top and bottom Cutting Plate to cut your Scallop Rectangle.
1. Cut your cardstock at least 3-1/2″ wide and 1/4″ longer than you want your Rectangle. 2. Put your Framelit on the cardstock close to the center of your Big Shot. 3. Make sure your cardstock and Scallop Square Framelit are lined up straight on your Big Shot Platform. 4. Leave at least 1/16″ cardstock showing between the Cutting Plate and the inside edge of your Framelit. Run through your Big Shot. 5. Trim off excess cardstock beside Scallop cuts. 6. Turn your Framelit upside down so you see the Scallop Cutting Edges. Place your partially cut Scallop cardstock on the Framelit lining up at least 2 Scallops on each side depending on how long you want your Scallop Rectangle to be. 7. Place Framelit and cardstock on Big Shot Platform and cutting plate with cardstock still lined up in the Framelit Scallops. Make sure the cardstock is lined up straignt. Cover the part of the cardstock you want cut with the top Cutting plate leaving a gap between the edge of the cutting plate and the inside edge of the Framelit. Run through your Big Shot. Take out your Scallop Rectangle and use on your project.

Stampin’ Up! is updating its Color Collections to stay on trend in the world of color! There is also a NEW Ink Pad design as the old ink pad mold was expiring. Here is what Stampin’ Up! has to say:
“The Colors areEvolving. The spice of life is variety, and that’s especially true in the world of color. Stampin’ Up! makes a point to keep an eye on color trends across different markets and industries. When we see changes happening, we review our color spectrum to ensure that we remain consistently on top of the trends. This brings us to the 2018 Color Revamp!
“In order to keep bringing you the most current and on trend colors, we decided it was time to give our color collections a makeover.
“With this revamp, you’ll have a new variety of shades that will inspire creativity and allow you to explore more sides of your crafting.”
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
1-On May 31, 2018, thirteen colors are retiring.
This means ink pads, ink refills, cardstock, and accessories in these colors are going away for good. Get your Favorites while they are still available. They may sell out quickly.
The retiring 2016-2018 In Colors are:
Sweet Sugar Plum
*Please note that while Flirty Flamingo is retiring as an In Color, it will continue to be available as part of our core color collection.
Because of the NEW Ink Pad Design ALL ink pads whether staying or retiring are on the Last Chance List and are available while supplies last or until May 31, 2018.
2-Returning In Colors.
There are no changes to the In Color program. Every two years we will continue to introduce five new In Colors that will be available for the ensuing two years.
We also have previous In Colors that are returning and joining our core colors:
3-The Color Collections.
Stampin’ Up! decided to make a “Basics” Collection with Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Whisper White which left room for 3 more colors in the Core Collections. Take a look here. Notice some colors moved from one collection to a different one AND the Neutrals Collection has some color!

~Stamp Consider Yourself Hugged on Whisper White cardstock in Berry Burst ink. Punch out with the Scallop Circl Punch. Add Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back. 2. Put it all together:
~Lay out Butterfly and sentiment on card front in the position you want them. Attach.

The Retiring List came out yesterday at 1:00 pm Utah Time. I was in the car for a LONG time on the ways home from OnStage so I was unable to post yesterday as there was no internet available most of the way.
Here are copies of the documents if you want them.
Remember that EVERYTHING on the lists is only available while supplies last. Some things will go quickly, some won’t. Retiring ink pads, refills, and cardstock have some items in low supply already.

Have you ever make the Popcorn Box with Striped Paper and noticed that the stripes were not all straight? It is easy if you follow the simple cut out and assembly directions in this video. You can then use this Striped Basket for Easter or any other occasion.
I LOVED the March 5th Anniversary Paper Pumpkin Kit! I will admit it did take me a bit to figue out where all the parts went. The die cuts were nicely labeled, but the directions did not tell me where they all went. Anyway, my creative juices got going and I had fun making these cards and decorative envelopes. I really liked the HUGE amount of Stampin’ Dimensionals that came with the Kit. I can use lots and still have plenty to finish all the cards!
I used the supplies that came in the kit along with scissors, a ruler, and SNAIL adhesive. There is a ruler printed on the instructions, but I usually forget about it……
NOTES: Things I figured out AFTER making my cards. 1. The line divides what goes on each card set. The larger top section is for the Pink card front on the Crumb Cake card base AND the Envelope with the swirls. 2. The die cuts on the smaller lower section are all used on the Crumb Cake Rose Print card front and Fresh Fig card base AND the Rose Envelope. 3. Did your ribbon come out wrinkled? Just put SNAIL on the back to attach it and you won’t see any wrinkles. I did figure this out while I was making the cards. I used SNAIL to attach all the ribbon. I was really not in the mood to iron all the ribbon as I was making these in the evening while watching TV with my DH and son. 4. Each month Stampin’ Up! posts a short video on how to assemble the kit on pumpkinhowto.com. I always forget to watch it before I make the cards. Although the video does move pretty quickly, you get the general idea of how to make the cards more than from the printed instructions…. in my opinion.
HERE IS THIS MONTH’S PAPER PUMPKIN VIDEO:
PINK CARD FRONT WITH CRUMB CAKE CARD BASE 1. Punch out the die cuts from the larger top half:
~Leaf A and Leaf B
~Pink and gold flowers
~Also the filigree Tag from the Tag sheet 2. Stamp the flourish in Early Espresso ink in each corner. 3. Cut two pieces of ribbon at 3-1/4″. Hold together and trim the ends at an angle. Lay on card front to determine position. Place SNAIL on the back of the ribbon and attach to card front. This will take the wrinkels out. 4. Attach all the pieces:
I just used Stampin’ Dimensionals on all the die cuts. You can use Glue Dots where one die cut lays on top of another die cut if you want.
~Stamp the desired sentiment on the filigree Tag. Attach to your Pink Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the ribbon.
~Attach Leaf A towards the bottom of the Tag as shown.
~Next add the Gold Flower, then the Pink Flower on top.
~Attach the small Leaf B behind the Pink Flower. (I did not do this and used this leaf on the other card because I had not figured things out yet.)
~Attach the Pink Card Front to the Crumb Cake card base with Dimensionals.
SWIRLS ENVELOPE 1. Get the Envelope with the Swirls pring. 2. Punch out the large flower die cut. Attach to the Swirls Envelope with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Yes, use lots around the edges with a few in the center. I should have taken a picture, but didn’t think about it. 3. Cut Ribbon at 3-1/2″ and trim ends as desired. Attach to envelope with SNAIL. 4. Punch out the Label B from the top half. Stamp Happy Birthday. Put Dimensionals on the back. Attach over Ribbon. 5. Punch out the holes in the bake of the envelope: one will almost halfway down the back, the other on the envelope flap.
~Punch out the Green circles and the holes. Put a brad through the Circle Hole and put the brad tabs through the envelope hole. Hold the brad with your fingernails underneath the brad top, then spread the brad tabs. Repeat with second brad and Geen Circle. Tie the Thread around the brad on the envelope. Trim end. Wrap thread around both brads a few times. Cut end when you like the look. There is no measurement given in the directions.
ROSE PRINT CARD FRONT WITH FRESH FIG CARD BASE: 1. Get the Crumb Cake Rose Print card front. 2. Attach the pink strip about 1/2″ from the card front bottom edge. Attach the yellow strp next to the pink strip. Trim edges. 3, Stamp the sentiment on the Large Label B. Punch out the holes. Tie a large Baker’s Twine bow in each hole. (I am not good with the rumpled Baker’s Twine look. You can do that if you want as per the instructions that came with the Kit.) Put 3-4 Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back. 4. Now get Leaf A and Leaf B from the bottom half. (Note: I used the small Leaf B from the top half on my card so yours will look different.) I put Dimensionals on the back of them. I thin attached them to the Dimensionals on the back of the Large Label B. I then attached them to the card front. 5. Attach the completed card front to the Fresh Fig card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
ROSE ENVELOPE: 1. Get the Rose Envelope. 2. Cut your Ribbon about 3″. Attach to envelope with SNAIL. 3. Punch out the Lower Label B. Stamp with Hello. Attach Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back. Attach over Ribbon. 4. Punch out the holes in the bake of the envelope: one will almost halfway down the back, the other on the envelope flap.
~Punch out the Fresh Fig circles and the holes.
Wahoo you have finished one set of cards!! You can finish the rest following the instructions above, or mix up the die cuts to get different looks. You could even use your own cardstock to put the die cuts on to make stamdard size cards. Have LOTS OF FUN with this Kit!

~Tombow Glue: Put glue under center of Gold Foil Pansy. Place over Glimmer Paper Pansy. Hold in place with your fingers in the flower center for a minute or two. I used Tombow.
~Stampin’ Dimensionals: Place at least two under the center of the Gold Foil Pansy. Attach to Glimmer Pansy. 4. Attach to center top of your Hexagon Window Box. 5. Add Clear Faceted Gems to the center of your flower making sure to press each one firmly so it stays attached.
Here is another Party Pandas card. The Party Pandas stamp set is only available until March 31st and can be earned with a $50 purchase. Notice the scalloped rectangle. I was in the mood for somethng a little more elaborately layered than usual. Hope you like it.

~Put the 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Real Red on your Big Shot platform with the Thin Die Adapter and bottom cutting plate. (Multipurpose Platform=all tabs closed.)
~Lay the large Scallop Square Framelit at the top of the cardstock.
~Place your top cutting plate so it covers about 1/8″ of Real Red cardstock shows above the bottom of the Framelit. Run through your Big Shot. Your Real Red will be partially die cut.
~Turn your Framelit upside-down and lay your Scallops so 2-3 Scallops are in the Framelit and the rest of the Framelit is on uncut cardstock. Lay on your Big Shot Platform with the Framelit cutting side up. Run through your Big Shot with the top cutting plate only covering the part of the Framelit that still needs to be cut. DO NOT cover the center part of your cardstock and Framelit with the cutting plate or you will end up with a square instead of a rectangle. I guess I will make a video on this for April….. 2. Assemble your card:
~Layer the Whisper White, Basic Black, and Scallop Rectangle together with SNAIL.
~Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Panda and sentiments.
~Lay out where you want them then attach.
