I have been visiting family a lot recently and putting together last year’s Tin of Cards Kit with my grandchildren. I remembered the kit, some of the ink pads, paper snips and adhesives. BUT I forgot my Stamp Blocks! I mostly used my Bone Folder to put the small and narrow stamps on and let the kids use that to stamp. I rinsed the stamp and bone folder off at the sink under running water. The larger stamps were a problem though. I first put them on the end of an ink pad in the center. I did not want the outside of my fairly new ink pad discolored from the kids inking up the stamp, so I did it for them. I later thought of using the bottom of a measuring cup which the kids could ink up and stamp with. We did need to press the inside of the cup to get a good stamped image. I was surprised at how well they did with the clear stamps. (Ages 7 and 5) The stamps are all still in the case!
I hope this gives you some ideas for emergency Stamp Block substitutions. I really do prefer the Stampin’ Up! Clear Blocks over the substitutions!! The Stampin’ Mist and Stampin’ Scrub also work better for cleaning and conditioning the stamps than water.
