We are making this Fall Banner at a Class this Saturday that I am participating in with several other crafters. It uses the Build a Banner Kit. This is a pretty fun little Banner to make. It also goes together pretty quickly.

Early Espresso for letters. If stenciling, use a sponge dauber and Early Espresso ink.
Letters:
Serif Essentials Alphabet Bigz Dies (Sorry, retired) Use the stencils included in the Build a Banner Kit. I always forget. 🙁
You can use the alphabet stencils that come in the full Build a Banner kit for the letters and use a sponge dauber and Early Espresso ink to sponge them directly onto the banners. The “Banner” Kit only has 18 Banner pieces and 9′ of Jute Cord-NO stencils. You can also use your favorite cutter to cut your letters out. These are 1-3/4″ wide x 2″ tall.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Cut your Leaves out with your Big Shot. I cut each color to 3-5/8″ x 6″, stacked them over the two largest leaves and cut them out all at once. Oh, the advantage of Bigz Dies!
2. Arrange your leaves and figure out your letter placement. Attach or sponge on your letters, trying to keep the bottom of each letter so it looks like there has been a line drawn straight across all the banners. I used Tombow Glue to attach all card stock to the banners. After your letters are in place, glue on your leaves in the desired pattern/arrangement.
3. Thread your 1/8″ Ribbon through your button holes. I made a little loop with thread to help me. Tie the ribbon in a knot or bow as desired. Attach your buttons to the top of your leaves with Tombow Glue. Glue Dots don’t hold the buttons on well enough, especially if you keep moving the Banner around.
4. Cut your cord to 4 feet. Thread it through your banner holes. You can thread it through so it does NOT show on the front of the banner OR so it does show on the front of your banner. Choose whichever you like the look of best. I threaded mine behind this time.
5. Cut five 12″ pieces of Burlap Ribbon. Tie a loose knot between each banner and at the outsides of the first and last banner. Trim off excess ribbon if desired.
6. Tie a loop at each end of the cord so you can hang your banner.
