Three Things #3-Christmas Pines Card

It took me a little time to come up with the Three Things to use on this card:  Copper Foil Sheet, Pretty Pines Thinlits, and Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper.  Enjoy making your OWN version.  This design is great to give to guys and nature lovers.
Peaceful Pines-Three Things ChallengeSUPPLIES:

Ink:  VersaMark
Cardstock:  Shaded Spruce
Copper Foil Sheets #142020
Nature’s Poem 12×12 Designer Series Paper (DSP) #146338
Big Shot:  Peaceful Pines Thinlits #141851
Precision Base Plate #139684
Big Shot Die Brush #144262
Wax Paper or Parchment Paper (your kitchen or local store)
Heat Embossing:  Copper Embossing Powder #141636
Embossing Buddy #103083
Heat Tool #129053
Adhesive:  Tombow Glue
Other:  Clean printer paper

iNSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Papers.
~Shaded Spruce card base at 5-1/2″ c 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
~Wood Pattern Nature’s Poem DSP cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″
2. Die Cut using the Precision Base Plate using this Sandwich:  Big Shot Platform, Precision Base Plate,  cardstock, Wax Paper or Parchment Paper, Thinlit, top cutting plate.  The Precision Base Plate takes the place of the Bottom cutting plate.
From Shaded Spruce cardstock:
~1 long Pine Branch
~2 medium Pine Branches
~2 small Pine Branches
From Copper Foil Sheet (1-1/2″ x 4″)
~Pine Cones:  There are three Pine Cone Thinlits.  You can choose only one, or choose a variety.
Sandwich:  Big Shot Platform, Precision Base Plate,  printer paper folded in half or quarters, Copper Foil Sheet,  Wax Paper or Parchment Paper, Thinlit, top cutting plate.  The Precision Base Plate takes the place of the Bottom cutting plate.
NOTE:  Use the Big Shot Die Brush to help remove the paper from the Thinlits.  You can also use a toothpick, but it is really slow.
3.  Arrange the Pine Branches on one corner of your Wood Pattern DSP.  Attach with a thin line of Tombow Glue down the center of each Pine Branch.  Each Pine Branch does NOT need to go all the way to the corner.
~Put the long Pine Branch down the center from the upper left corner.
~Put the two medium Pine Branches next to the long one at the edges of the DSP
~Put the two small Pine Branches in between the long and medium Pine Branches.
4.  Now decide where you want your Pine Cones.  Attach with thin scribbles of Tombow Glue.
5.  Choose your sentiment and decide where you want it.  Lay your card front on a piece of scratch paper.  Stamp with VersaMark ink.  Cover with Copper Embossing Powder.  Put excess embossing powder back in the jar.  Melt the embossing powder with your Heat Tool until the embossing powder is all shiny.
6. Attach your card front to your Shaded Spruce card base.
Your card is finished.

Using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with Thinlits

I have had some questions about using Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with die cuts.  In this video, I show you how to use Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets with detailed Thinlits.  The process is the same when using these Adhesive Sheets with Framelits.  This process turns whatever you are cutting out into stickers.

This Video is 7 minutes 12 seconds long.

SUPPLIES:
Big Shot:  May Flowers Thinlits #140276
Big Shot Die Brush #144262
Adhesive:  Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets #144106
Cardstock:  Highland Heather
Gorgeous Grape

TIPS:
1.  Figure out how much cardstock you need by laying out what you want to die cut on a piece of cardstock.  Measure how wide and how long the cardstock needs to be.  Cut to size if desired.  Cut your Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet the size needed.
2.  Rub the word side of the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet with your Bone Folder.  Use the cut line at the edge to help you pull the word sheet off the adhesive and backing.  If the cut line is not there, use your fingernail at the corner to help separate the word sheet from the adhesive and backing.
3.  Attach the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet to the back of your cardstock.
4.  Lay out the dies on the cardstock with the adhesive sheet on the bottom.  Cut.  I usually go back and forth four times.  Pull out both cutting plates and flip over so you can see how well your Thinlit was cut.  If necessary, cut again with the bottom facing up this time.
5.  Lay out your die cut on your card front to determine where to put it.  Remove the white Adhesive Backing and stick to the card front.  You can rub your Bone Folder over the die cut to make sure it sticks well.

You can get your Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets and a variety of Thinlits & Framelits Dies from My Online Store.

This small Takeout Treat Box is the perfect size for a small treat or gift.  It is also easy to make.  You can decorate it to fit the occasion and the person you will give it to.

This Video is 13 minutes long.

Ink:  Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock:  Gorgeous Grape
Highland Heather
Big Shot:  *Takeout Thinlits #147927

SNAIL

TIPS:
1.  After die cutting your two pieces, place them on the table with the score lines facing up.  Also, make sure both pieces are laying in the same position so they will fit together properly.
2.  Fold the score lines by folding the sides or tabs on top of the rest of your cardstock as shown.
3.  Put Tear & Tape on the bottom rectangle of ONE of the pieces.
4.  Flip the pieces over and apply Tear & Tape to the side tabs.
5.  Attach the bottom pieces first as shown in the video.
6.  Attach each side piece as shown in the video.
7.  To close the box: make sure the outside points on the top flaps are always on top of the cardstock as you slide the cut lines and top flaps together.  Practice a few times and it will be easy.

You can make Takeout Treat Boxes for any occasion just by changing the cardstock color, stamping or other decorations:  Birthday, Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Party Favors, Wedding Favors, whatever occasion you can think of.  Or you can give one to someone Just Because.
