March Paper Pumpkin

I got my March Paper Pumpkin Kit Tuesday night. When making the two cards I kind of tweaked them a little. Popup Cards are so fun to send to people! These are fun to make and pretty easy too. I had an intensive Class Wednesday that required a LOT of prep. So, you are getting the post today.

March Paper Pumpkin Kit
I used my own SNAIL and Stampin’ Dimensionals
I also used a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker to color the edges of the Banners

*1. Sort through your Kit to find all the different parts available. Notice the wonderful Number Stamp set and the Kit Stamp set.

*2a.  Get your card centers with the Popup Cakes and Presents. Fold the center score lines and the outside of the cakes score lines as shown. Fold the whole thing in half and rub your Bone Folder over the whole thing. I found this really helps when making popup cards.
~The Candles come in a group of six. Fold the first group in half lining up the candles. Peel of the adhesive and stick the candles behind the bottom cake matching the fold lines.
~Cut the next group of candles into a set of 4 and a set of 2. As before, fold each group in half lining up the candles. Stick the group of 3 candles behind the center cake matching up the fold line. The group of 2 candles goes behind the top cake.

2b. Now to add bows to the card inside with the Popup Gifts. Attach the Bows with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the gifts. You can also stamp and/or write your sentiments now if desired.

*3. Stamp a sentiment if desired. Write on the card inside now if desired.

4. Attach the card inside to the card base one side at a time.
Watch this Video if you want more instructions on Popup Cards.
~Fold the card inside in half. I used SNAIL, but Tombow Glue works well also. Put the Adhesive around the top back, side back, and bottom back. With the top and bottom put the adhesive all the way to the fold line. I also put some adhesive along the sides of the cakes.
~Line up the center fold lines centering the card inside so the top and bottom are about even. It is hard to get them completely even. Just make sure the fold lines match. Attach this side to the card base.

~Now put adhesive on the back of the other side. You have a couple of options when attaching it:
~Option 1: Fold the card base over the card inside. Rub both sides of the folded card base with your Bone Folder.
~Option 2: Open your card base so it lays flat. Attach your card inside. Fold your card in half and rub the folded card base with your Bone Folder.
~Rubbing the outside of your folded card base helps the adhesive stick well and creases all the fold lines.
Whew! The hard part is finished.

5. Stamp the Banners as shown or however you want. I also colored the edges of both with a Poppy Parade Marker.

6. Now to finish your card fronts.
~Polka Dot Card Front: Attach the striped paper across the card front. Mine is 1-1/4″ from the top edge. Attach the desired Banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
~Gray Striped Card Front: Stamp the swirls and confetti as desired. I got a little carried away. Attach your desired Banner with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
You have finished two of your cards. Now to have fun playing with the rest of the cards!

5. Stamp edge flowers first, then the center flower. These flowers use three stamps to get this image. The Largest stamp uses the lightest color, the Medium stamp uses the medium color, and the Small stamp uses the darkest color. Colors are listed from lightest to darkest.
~Left Flower: Poppy Parade, Lovely Lipstick, Real Red
~Center Flower: Lovely Lipstick, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler
~Right Flower: Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Merry Merlot

6. Use Glue Dots to attach the Ribbon behind your stamped Whisper White cardstock.

~Have the end come up under the left flower. Attach it.

~Have the end of the ribbon come up under the right flower. Attach it.
~Trim the ends of the ribbon about the same height as the center loop.

7. Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of your stamped and looped cardstock. I like to put Stampin’ Dimensionals so they are on part of the ribbon and part of the cardstock. Attach to your card base.
Your Card is finished.

Paintbrushes Card

I wanted to make a relatively simple card using the “Paintbrushes in a pot” stamp from the Crafting Forever stamp set. I hand drew the lines on the card front with markers.

*1. Cut your Thick Whisper White card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. SCORE and fold at 4-1/4″.

*2. Use your Highland Heather Marker to draw diagonal lines across your card front in one direction. The lines are drawn freehand and are spaced about 1″ apart. NOTE: My Marker needs to be reinked so your lines may be darker. I will be using this technique to reink my Marker.

*3. Now use your Gorgeous Grape Marker to draw diagonal lines in the other direction across your card front.

*4. Stamp your Paintbrushes on Whisper White cardstock with Memento Black ink.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

I made this Happy Birthday Shaker Card for my grandson’s birthday. It is pretty easy to make though it takes a little time. Kiev made the original Shaker Card design. I have now made two. This is a fairly quick and easy card to make. I will also show a picture of the other Shaker Card I made.

Stamps: Big Wishes Rubber Wood-Mount #146422, Clear-Mount #146425
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Cardstock: Whisper White
Real Red
Blueberry Bushel
Window Sheets #142314
Big Shot: Rectangle Stitched Framelits #148551
Maps etc Embossing Folder #146822
Eclectic Layers Thinlits #143774
Adhesives: Tombow Glue
Foam Adhesive Strips #141825

1. Cut your Real Red card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″.

2. Cut your Blueberry Bushel card front at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Run through your Big Shot with the Maps Embossing Folder. Glue to your card base.

3. Choose two Rectangle Stitched Framelits for your frame. With the Larger of the two cut:
~one Whisper White to stamp on
~one Window Sheet

4. With both Framelits and Real Red cardstock:
~Lay both Framelits on the Real Red cardstock on your Big Shot Platform. Make the red line between them even. Cut out. I did have to crank them back and forth several times to get them to cut all the way through. To check if they are properly cut pick up both cutting plates with the cardstock and Framelits still inside.
~Flip over so you can see the bottom. If it has cut through all the way, then you are finished. If it does not look like it has cut through properly, then run through the Big Shot again with this bottom side up. I still ran it through a couple of times

5. Put a really thin line of Tombow Glue on the back of your Real Red frame. Carefully attach it to your Window Sheet lining up the corners and edges. Gently press the Frame to the Window Sheet. Set aside to dry.

6. Stamp Happy Birthday in Blueberry Bushel ink on the Whisper White Rectangle. I stamped it towards the top.

7. Put the Foam Adhesive Strip around the edges of the stamped Whisper White Rectangle. Make sure they are exactly on the edge as the Foam Strip is the same width at the Frame you cut. Also, make sure there are NO gaps between the Foam Adhesive Strips ends. Rub your Embossing Buddy on the Whisper White cardstock and the inside edges of the Foam Adhesive Strip. This helps keep the Shaker parts from sticking to the edges of the Foam Adhesive strips and helps them shake well.

8. Use the Eclectic Layers Framelit with all the diamond shapes to cut out all your diamond shapes that will go inside your Shaker Card. I cut two each from Real Red and Blueberry Bushel cardstock. While I am cutting them out I keep them in a bowl. Put them on the Whisper White stamped cardstock inside the Foam Adhesive Strips. This amount filled up the inside too much so a took a couple of big pinches out.

9. Peel off the backing from the Foam Adhesive Strips. Gently line up the Frame corners and edges with the Whisper White corners and edges. Press down firmly so the two attach well. Use Tombow Glue to attach your Shaker Part to your card front. Put a large stamp block or medium weight book on top of the whole card. This will help the Shaker Part lay flat and give the Glue time to set. Leave at least 5 minutes.

10. Your Happy Birthday Shaker Card is finished. Have some fun shaking it!

Here is a picture of another Shaker Card I made. I used Melon Mambo ink and Cardstock. I used the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. I used sequins to shake. Make your OWN version.

Easel Card Video

Learn to make this quick and easy Easel Card when you watch this Video. You just make one additional score line, make a card front, and s small die cut or punch to help the card stand up.

This Video is just over 4 minutes long.

Stamps: Butterfly Gala Photopolymer #148580
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Blushing Bride
Mossy Meadow
Petal Promenade 12×12 Designer Series Paper (DSP) #146913
Punches: 1″ Circle #119868
1-1/2″ Circle #138299
Adhesive: SNAIL or Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin’ Dimensionals

1. Landscape: Cut your Blushing Bride card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″ and 2″. Make sure you have folded both score lines so the folds make 3 sides of a square shape.
~Protrait: Cut your card base at 4-1/4″ x 11″. Score and fold at 5-1/2″ and 2-1/2″. Make sure you have folded both score lines so the folds make 3 sides of a square shape.
~Watch This Video for more details on making Basic Card Bases.

2. Cut your card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Decorate as desired.
~For this card I cut an image out of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. It is 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″

~Layer the DSP image and the Mossy Meadow layer together with SNAIL.

~I punched a 1″ Circle from the DSP for the top layer.
~The 1-1/2″ Mossy Meadow Circle is the bottom layer.
~Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the bottom of both circles. Attach the top layer to the bottom layer.
~Attach your layered circles to the bottom edge of the inside or your card as close to the bottom center edge as you can.
Your Easel Card is finished!

1. Cut your papers:
~Real Red card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″ and 2″.
~Real Red card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
~Real Red Label at 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″. Punch the ends off with the Everyday Label Punch. Watch This Video if you need help making the Label longer.
~Punch your Ribbon from 5-1/2″ long cardstock.

2. Stamp your sentiment on Whisper White cardstock with Real Red ink. Cut it out with the Stitched Label Framelit shown. Attach it to your long Everyday Label with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I did color the edges of the Real Red Label with my Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker. Also, put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the Real Red Label.

3. Attach your DSP to your Real Red card front. Lay out the label and the punched ribbon where you want them. Attach the Label with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Attach the punched ribbon with either SNAIL or Tombow Glue.

4. Look at the Side-View picture and notice how the card base is folded. Fold the score lines with your Bone Folder to get a crisp fold. Put SNAIL on the 2″ section which has the bottom edge. Put your card front so the bottom of your card front lines up with the edge that has the SNAIL on. The top part of the card front will not be attached to the card base.

5. Hold your card open.
~Cut the round Stitched Labels Framelit from Whisper White cardstock.  Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back
~Cut the smallest Be Mine Stitched Heart cut from Real Red cardstock.  Put Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back.  Attach to Whisper White Round Stitched Label.
~Attach the layered Circle and Heart on the inside bottom of the card in the center and as close to the bottom edge as you can get it. Look at the Open Side View picture.  Now put the bottom of your card front so it touches your Layered Circle and Heart. You have now completed your Easel Card.

This Video is 8-1/2 minutes long.

Stamps:  Bitty Greetings  Wood-Mount #146664, Clear-Mount #146667
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock:  Thick Whisper White
Whisper White
Berry Burst
Rich Razzleberry
Fresh Fig
Big Shot:  Garden Trellis Embossing Folder #143741
Punch:  Classic Label #141491
Adhesives:  SNAIL
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals #144108

The Blue version uses Balmy Blue cardstock, Pacific Point cardstock, Blueberry Bushel cardstock, and the Lace Dynamic Embossing Folder.  It also uses the Banners for You Photopolymer stamp set #141710 and the  Bunch of Banners Framelits #141488.

1.  Cut:
~Thick Whisper White card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  SCORE and fold at 4-1/4″
~Whisper White card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
~Light Color – Berry Burst at 2″ x 5″
~Medium Color – Rich Razzleberry at 1-3/4″ x 5″
~Dark Color – Fresh Fig at 3″ x 5″

2. Make your card front.
~Put SNAIL on your Whisper White card front around all four edges, two strips down the center both horizontally and vertically.
~Start with your Light Color Cardstock.  Place it at the top of your card front at an angle making sure to cover both corners and the sides so no white shows at the top or sides.
~Add you Medium Color pushing it up against the Light Color so no White shows in between them.
~Next, add your Dark Color pushing it up against the Medium Color making sure there is no white showing between color strips or around any of the side.

3.  Turn so you can see the Whisper White card front.  Cut off all the colored cardstock from around the edges using either scissors or your Paper Trimmer.  Admire the Gradient/Ombre Colors!

4.  Put your Gradient or Ombre Card Front inside your Embossing Folder and run it through your Big Shot.

5.  Glue your Embossed Card Front onto your Card Base.

6.  Add your sentiment.  Just a note:  I liked the larger sentiment better than the smaller one.
Your Card is finished!
