Easel Card Video

Learn to make this quick and easy Easel Card when you watch this Video. You just make one additional score line, make a card front, and s small die cut or punch to help the card stand up.

This Video is just over 4 minutes long.

VIDEO SUPPLIES:

Stamps: Butterfly Gala Photopolymer #148580
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Blushing Bride

Punches: 1″ Circle #119868
1-1/2″ Circle #138299
Adhesive: SNAIL or Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin’ Dimensionals

TIPS:

1. Landscape: Cut your Blushing Bride card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold at 4-1/4″ and 2″. Make sure you have folded both score lines so the folds make 3 sides of a square shape.

~Watch This Video for more details on making Basic Card Bases.

2. Cut your card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Decorate as desired.
~For this card I cut an image out of the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper. It is 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″

~Layer the DSP image and the Mossy Meadow layer together with SNAIL.

3. Put SNAIL or Tombow Glue on the bottom half of your card base front covering the section between the 2″ fold line and the bottom edge.

4. Line up your completed card front with the card base. Attacch to the adhesive.

5. Make something to hold up the card front at an angle on the card. You can use either a punch or die cuts. You must use Stampin’ Dimensionals underneath so it is raised up some and will hold your card front in place to form your Easel Card.
~I punched a 1″ Circle from the DSP for the top layer.
~The 1-1/2″ Mossy Meadow Circle is the bottom layer.
~Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the bottom of both circles. Attach the top layer to the bottom layer.
~Attach your layered circles to the bottom edge of the inside or your card as close to the bottom center edge as you can.
Your Easel Card is finished!

Coloring Ribbon Video

Coloring Ribbon is a quick & easy technique.  You can get a custom Ribbon Color for your project when you need to.

This Video is 7 minutes long exactly.

BASIC SUPPLIES:

Ribbon of your choice
Stampin’ Write Marker color of your choice
Stampin’ Blends Marker color of your choice
Ink Pad color of your choice
Silicone Craft Sheet or something that will protect your surface

VIDEO SUPPLIES:

Whisper White Flax Ribbon #148764
Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon #144159
All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack #148584
Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Pad #147140
Lovely Lipstick  Stampin’  Write Marker
Lovely Lipstick  Dark Stampin’ Blends Marker #147028

TIPS:

1.  You might want to practice on a small piece of ribbon before you color it for your project.  This will help you see the color you get. You can adjust the color in case it does not turn out the color you want.  Also, check to see if you need to color just one side or both sides.

2.  Markers in general.  The color will get darker the more you color it.  Check your sample to see if you need/want to color both sides of the ribbon.

3.  Color with the side of your brush tip NOT the tip.  You will damage the tip if you color ribbon with it.  It will also take longer to color the ribbon with the thin surface of the Tip.

4.  Stampin’ Write Markers.  These markers color rather smoothly.   The ink spreads slightly and blends easily.

5.  Stampin’ Blends Markers.  These markers color really smoothly.  They also saturate the ribbon faster with ink.

Watch this Video if your ink pad or Stampin’ Write Markers need to be reinked.  Stampin’ Blends Markers cannot be reinked.

Check out My Online Store for a variety of Ribbons to practice coloring on and to use in your projects.

Heat Embossing Video

You can use Basic Heat Embossing to add some shine and texture to any card or paper crafting project.  Basic Heat Embossing is easy enough for beginning stampers.

This Video is 7 minutes 39 seconds long.

You do need to use some caution as you can burn yourself if you are not careful.  The tip of the Heat Tool gets hot.  The air coming from the Heat Tool is also hot.  So just be aware of the Heat and be careful.  You can hold your project with Craft Tweezers if your project is small.  Just a note:  I have NEVER burned myself with a Heat Tool.  But, let’s not discuss Glue Guns around my fingers as I tend to get burned no matter how careful I am.

BASIC HEAT EMBOSSING SUPPLIES:

Embossing Buddy #103083
Embossing Powder
Heat Tool #129053
Printer Paper
Stamps of your choice:  I used Amazing Life Photopolymer #148750,  and Tropical Chic Wood-Mount #146750, Clear-Mount #146753
Ink:  VersaMark #102283
Classic Stampin’ Ink
Whisper White Craft Ink #147277 also stays wet for a longer time

STEPS:

1.  Stamp: Rub your cardstock with your Embossing Buddy.  Stamp your image on your cardstock with either VersaMark ink, Classic Stampin’ Ink, or Whisper White Craft ink.  Make sure your Classic Stampin’ ink is moist enough so it will hold the Embossing Powder.  You might want to reink it before stamping so it will collect plenty of Embossing Powder.

2.  Apply Embossing Powder:  Put your Printer Paper under your cardstock.  Pour Embossing Powder over your stamped image.  Pour the excess back into the container.

3.  Melt Embossing Powder.  Turn your Heat Tool to the high setting and pick up your cardstock.  Swirl your Heat Tool over your Embossing Powder until the Embossing Powder turns shiny and all of it is melted.  Remember to keep the Heat Tool moving.  If you keep it in one place too long you can burn the cardstock.

Heat Embossed CardSo give Heat Embossing a try.  Be Brave.  It is easy and fun and will impress your family and friends.

Interact with me on Facebook.  There are questions, quotes, projects, and other interesting things there almost every day.  The Challenge Thread is posted every Saturday.  You can add your project in the comments section to help inspire others.  All levels of stampers and paper crafters are welcome to participate.  Photos only please, not links.  See you there!

Stamp Perfect Images

Would you like to Stamp Perfect Images Every Time?  This simple technique works with all types of stamps and all kinds of ink pads.

This Video is almost 7 minutes long.

SUPPLIES:

Choose your stamp(s):  Rubber: Wood Mount, Clear-Mount, or Cling; or  Photopolymer
Choose your ink pad(s)  Foam or felt
Cardstock or paper
Stampin’ Pierce Mat #126199 for use with Photopolymer Stamps

TIPS:

1.  Wood Mount stamps are ready to use as they are already on a block.  Clear and Cling Mount Rubber stamps need to be put on a block so you can use them.  If you want them perfectly lined up on your stamp block lay them on grid paper, then put the block on them.

2.  Ink up your stamps correctly to stamp perfect images every time.
~Foam ink pads:  Lightly pat the stamp on the ink pad.  You do not want any ink except on the part you want to stamp on your cardstock.
~Felt ink pads:  Gently rub your stamp in circles over the ink pad OR rub the ink pad in circles over your stamp.  Keep the ink pad flat so the ink only goes on the part of the stamp you want.

3.  Stamp straight down, count to 5, then pull the stamp straight up.  This is the MOST important way to stamp perfect images every time!  Do NOT tilt or roll your stamp block as your image will appear darker in spots or if there is ink on the stamp around the edges you will get a ring-around-the-rubber stamped image.

Check out videos on how to use the New Style Ink Pads and the older Style Ink Pads.

NEW Cling Stamps Video

Have you been curious about Stampin’ Up!’s NEW Cling Stamps?  Learn all about them when you watch this video.  There are currently 27 Cling Stamp sets available in the Occasions Catalog.  Check them out HERE.

This Video is 13 minutes long.

TIPS:
1.  Carefully pull the stamps off with your fingernail or the Take Your Pick Tool under the sticker and gently roll off the stamp block.
2.  Keep the sticky label clean.  You can clean it with water, Stampin’ Mist, or mild dish detergent if needed.
3.  Avoid the following:
~NO Sticky label on cardstock or paper.  Lint fibers will make your sticky label so it won’t be sticky anymore and you won’t be able to clean the lint off the sticky label.
~DO NOT use wipes to clean your stamps or labels.  They also leave lint fibers that destroy the sticky feature.
~NO Alcohol wipes.  The alcohol will damage the sticky labels and the wipes have fibers.
~Use caution when using StayzOn Cleaner on your Rubber stamps as the cleaner can damage the sticky labels.
