Make an Embossed Basket

Make an Embossed Basket from a half sheet of cardstock. Decorate it with an Embossing Folder to add some quick and easy Texture. Add a Handle if you want one. I embossed one Handle Layer and glued to to the other Handle Layer.

Make an Embossed Basket

SUPPLIES:

Cardstock: Timid Tiger cardstock or the color of your choice
Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine: Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder
Tool: Stampin’ Paper Trimmer with scoring blade OR Simply Scored Scoring Tool
Adhesives: Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Tear & Tape

INSTRUCTIONS:

1-Cut Your Papers:

~Basket: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Score and fold as shown in the photo below.
~Decorative Strip: 4″ x 8″ You can make it up to 4-1/2″ high to cover the whole thing if you want.
~Handle: 1/2″ x 8-1/2″.
~Embossed Handle Layer: 1/2″ x 7-1/2″.

2-Emboss:

~Put your Decorative Strip and your Embossed Handle Layer inside your Embossing Folder. The advantages of an extra-large Embossing Folder!
~Emboss.
~Glue the Decorative Strip to your Basket leaving the 1/2″ flap empty.
~Fold on all the Score Lines.
~Glue the Handle pieces together leaving 1/2″ at both ends of the Handle layer.
~Pull your Handle between your fingers to slightly curl it.

3-Tear & Tape:

~Cut up all the 1″ Score Lines. Cut out the small rectangle under the 1/2″ Side Flap.
~Side flap along fold line
~Bottom Front Flap along lone edge on the inside
~Bottom Back Flap along the edge on the outside.
~Handle: on the 1/2″ at each end. I put two strips.

4-Finish Your Basket:

~Attach the 1/2″ Side Flap to the other edge of the Box.
~Remove Tape backing from your Bottom Flsps.
~Fold in the Back first. The Tape will show.
~Fold in both 1″ Bottom Side Flaps. Make sure your Box is Square before attaching them to the Tape of the Back Flap.
~Fold over your Bottom Front Flap. Check again to make sure your Box is Squared off.
~Use your Bone Folder to rub the Basket Bottom from the inside. This helps the Tape to stick well.
~Attach one end of your Handle to the inside of one of your Basket Sides. Press firmly to make sure it stays attached.
~Repeat with the Handle on the other side.

You can adjust these measurements to make a box the size you want.

You can now Make an Embossed Basket for any occasion. Fill with treats, a small card, or a small gift.
