MDS Memorial Day Card

Remember those who have served!Today the United States of America honors those who died while serving our country.  I live next to an Army Base.  The VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) members will decorate the graves of the soldiers on Post today.  I also know several young men who have died in the service of our country this past year and left behind a wife and small children.  I see the sorrow and struggles of adjusting to life without their husband and father.

I do appreciate the freedoms these men and women have worked so hard to preserve!

So before you go off and have fun with your family and friends, please take a few minutes to remember those who have given their lives for our freedom and be grateful for their sacrifice and the sacrifices of their families.

If you don’t live in the United States remember those who sacrificed in your own country.  There are many who deserve our respect and thanks for preserving freedom in the world.  Let us spend a minute to remember them.  What would the world be like without these brave men and women who help preserve freedom in the world?

Give Thanks today.

Blue Ribbon Birthday

I made this Blue Ribbon Birthday Card for a friend.  I really like the way it turned out.  I will miss the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper when it retires next Thursday, May 30th.  Most of the items in the Spring 2013 Catalog will not be carried over.  So…… if there is anything you want or need more of you should get them now.
Blue Ribbon Birthday Card

The Retiring Accessories (everything that is not a flat stamp) are available only while supplies last.  There are even some discounted items still available.  Retiring Stamps are available until June 3rd.

On a happier note, we can start ordering from the NEW 2013-2014 Catalog on Friday, May 31st.  I will be having a Play Date that afternoon.  We will be making one card using supplies from the NEW Catalog and then we will work on our own projects.  I will be placing   orders that day for all those who want to be among the first to place an order from the NEW Catalog.

Well, back to the Blue Ribbon Birthday Card.  I do love the bright colors.  You can choose your Designer Series Paper and then use coordinating colors (listed in the catalog and on the package) to make a wonderful card.  You can get a variety of looks just by using different patterned paper, different ink colors, embellishments, and ribbon.  Have fun making your own version of this card!

Pop n’ Cut Dress Card

This Pop n’ Cut Dress card was really fun to make!  It is NOT Quick.  It does have a lot of steps that are easy though.  Try making one yourself!  I will give you the supply list and some basic steps, but won’t go into all the details because it would be a super-long post.  It took my class members 45-60 minutes to make it.  They did everything so they can duplicate it at home.  They each said it was worth the effort!
Pop n' Cut Dress Card Front
Pop n' Cut Dress Card inside

Stamps:  Bright Blossoms w#125495  c#125497
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise
Card Stock:  Island Indigo
Tempting Turquoise
Whisper White
Very Vanilla
Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper or DSP of your choice
Big Shot:  Card Base Pop n’ Cuts  #130099
Dress Form Pop n’ Cuts  #130100
Dress Up Framelits #130101
Designer Frames Embossing Folder  #123130
Ovals Collection Framelits #129381
Punch:  Extra Large Oval
Other:  Rhinestone
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

1.  Cut Base.  Cut your Island Indigo and Tempting Turquoise card stock at 4-1/4″ x 11″.  Insert into Pop n’ Cuts Card Base (without insert) making sure all cut lines are covered.  (Yes, put both pieces in at the same time.)  Run through your Big Shot.
Pop n' Cut Dress Card inside fold lines2.  Inside Pop-Up.  Put Dress Form Pop n’ Cuts into the Card Base lining up the center lines.  Put Tempting Turquoise card base in so the curvy top part is just above the slits at the bottom of the card base.  Run through your Big Shot.  Take your Bone Folder to help you fold the bottom score line and the bottom of the dress form stand.  Fold as shown in side view photo.  When finished folding close card and rub your Bone Folder over it a few times to flatten it out.
(Note:  Be very careful when gluing the card bases together.  Also be careful gluing the dress to the dress form.  Use a thin sparse line of glue along the edges.  It can get very messy if glue oozes out and can ruin your project.  The  Adhesive Remover didn’t do it’s usual great job on this project.)
3.  Glue.  Pay attention to the part of the Die Cut that is supposed to Pop-Up.  Put Tombow Glue on the back of the Tempting Turquoise EXCEPT for the part that is supposed to Pop-Up.  Make sure you only put a thin line of glue around the Pop-Up parts because you don’t want any glue oozing out and gluing your Pop-Up down.
4.  Cut Dress Forms & Dresses.  Cut two Very Vanilla Dress Forms from the Dress Up Framelits.  Cut two dresses and optional Jacket and hem ruffle.  Assemble outfits on Dress Forms as desired.  Choose which will go on the front and which will go on the inside of the card.
5.  Ovals.  Cut 1 Whisper White larger Oval and sponge edge with Tempting Turquoise ink if desired.  Cut 1 DSP Oval that is smaller.  Glue together.
6.  Card Front.  Cut a strip of Tempting Turquoise 1-5/8″ x 5-1/2″.  Glue in desired position on card front matching the straight edge at the fold line.  Trim the bottom part that hangs over the edge.  Lay out the Ovals and the Dress on the Dress Form in the desired Positions.  Now glue down.
7.  Card Inside.  Carefully glue down the Dress and Dress Form over the Pop-Up Dress Form.  Emboss a Whisper White Oval Designer Frame.  Stamp the vase and flowers on a scrap of Whisper White.  Punch out with the Extra Large Oval Punch.  Glue into center of Frame.  Glue on the “back wall” behind the Dress and Dress Form.
8.  Open and close your card several times and enjoy!

Happy Pop n’ Cut and Dress Designing!

Crab Punch Art Birthday Card

My grandson loves Crabs lately and turned 5 on Saturday.  So I decided to try and make him a Punch Art Crab for his birthday card.  I saw this Crab on Pinterest but it was an SVG file not Punch Art.  I decided to make it with Punches.  It was pretty easy after I figured it out.  I only used THREE Punches to make it.  I hope you decide to make one too.
Crab Birthday Card

Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners
Card Stock:  Tangerine Tango
Crumb Cake
Smoky Slate (coming May 31st!)
Pacific Point
Bashful Blue (retiring)
Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper (retires May 30th)
Ink:  Midnight Muse
Cajun Craze Marker (I wish I would have sponged around the edges, but I used a Marker)
Basic Black Marker
Pacific Point Marker
Soft Suede Marker
Punches:  Extra Large Oval #19859
Small Oval #120908
1/2″ Circle #119869
Big Shot:  Happy Whale Clearlit #129403  (Retires May 30th)
Bitty Banners Framelits #129267
Other:  Googly Eye (retired)
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Silicone Craft Sheer

Punching Illustrations
~Tangerine Tango:  You will use a little less than 1/4 sheet Tangerine Tango for your Crab.   Punch from Tangering Tango:  Punch out 2 Extra Large Ovals and 2 Small Ovals.  Punch 6 legs as shown in picture.  Punch 2 arms as shown in picture.  Punch 2 eyelids as shown in picture.  Sponge with Tangerine Tango or Cajun Craze now if desired.  (I wish I would have!)
~Whisper White:  Punch 2 eyes from Whisper White with the Small Oval punch.
~Pacific Point:  Punch 2 eyeballs from Pacific Point with the 1/2″ Circle Punch.
Assembling your Crab
1.  Legs and Arms.  Get out your Silicone Craft Sheet and Tombow Glue.  Place 1 Extra Large Oval in the center.  Lay out the 6 legs and 2 arms where you want them.  Glue them in place with Tombow Glue tearing off the parts that are too long.  You only need about 1/4″ of each piece glued to the back.
2.  Eyes.  Attach the Whisper White eyes between the arms.  Attach the Pacific Point eyeballs to the Whisper White eyes.  Now place the eyelids in the desired postitions.  I drew a line with my Cajun Craze Marker on the bottom edge of the eyelids.  You can add white lines or a comma to each of the eyes if you want.  My White Gel Pens have sprouted legs and ran away again.
3.  Pinchers.
We only have the 2 Tangerine Tango Small Ovals left.  Hold them together and cut out the “V” for the pinchers.  I cut straight down almost halfway for the first cut.  I made the second cut about 1/4″ away from the edge of the first cut, then cut down to meet the end of the first cut.  I drew a line with my Cajun Craze Marker down the center almost to the other side.
1.  Cut your Pacific  Point card base at 5-1/2″ x 8=1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Cut your Bashful Blue at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to card front.
2.  Adhere your 2″ x 5-1/4″ Ocean Waves from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper to the desired height on your card front.
3.  Cut your Crumb Cake card stock at about 1″ x 5-1/2″.  Tear one long edge.  (Optional:  you can sponge the edges if desired.  I just dragged the torn edge on the Baked Brown Sugar ink pad.)  I used the Soft Suede Marker to make little specks of sand on the Crumb Cake card stock.  Adhere at the bottom of the Bashful Blue card stock.
4.  Cut your Whale out of Smoky Slate card stock.  Sponge edges if desired.  Add a Googly Eye or draw on an eye.
5.  Lay your Crab and Whale in the desired positions on the card front.  Adhere.  I used the cut outs from the Whale as a stencil for the Whale’s water spout.  I colored the water in with a Pacific Point Marker.
6.  Stamp your sentiment in Midnight Muse ink on Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the Framelit.  Adhere in desired position.
7.  Admire your Fun Crab Birthday Card!  Give it to one of your favorite children!

Happy Punching!

Happy Digital Stamping!

A Candy Bow Tie for your Dad, Husband, or the Man in your Life

We made this at Stamp Class on Friday in preparation for Father’s Day next month.  This is a super quick project!  If your guy doesn’t like M&Ms, you can use Skittles or something similar just as long as you can pinch it in the center to make it look like a Bow Tie.  My son said he likes this kind of card!  Don’t worry, he will still get a “Real” card from me.  (Unless I change my mind!)
M&M Bow Tie for your Guy and Father's Day

Stamps:  Dapper Dad w#129195  c#129198
Loved Ones (stamp set retired) Digital Stamp Brush Set #130164
(Options in Instructions)
Card Stock:  Whisper White
Ink:  Real Red
Tempting Turquoise
Cherry Cobbler Marker
Other:  Peanut m&m’s 3.27 ounce package sold at checkout counter
White Baker’s Twine
Glue Dots

1.  Stamp the Bow Tie in Real Red on Whisper White and cut it out.  Stamp the “DAD” in Tempting Turquoise ink on Whisper White card stock and cut it out leaving a little extra by the first letter so you can attach it to the tie with Glue Dots or so you could attach it with Baker’s Twine.  Now is the time to decide.  (Note:  You can also use this as a “Husband or Boyfriend Appreciation Day.  Use the “Love You” from the Seasonal Sayings stamp set instead of the word Dad.)
1a.  I don’t have the Dapper Dad Stamp set but I do have the Beyond Plaid Stamp Set.  So I traced the Bow Tie from the Dapper Dad stamp Set from the Spring 2013 Catalog onto Vellum.  I stamped the desired Beyond Plaid stamp in Real Red.  (A couple of my customers colored the Plaid and Argyle stamps with various Markers which look really great!).  I used some Dotto Removable Adhesive (I am so sad we no longer carry this) on the back of the Vellum Bow Tie and attached it to the stamped image and cut out the Bow Tie.  I then used a coordinating Cherry Cobbler Marker to outline the tie, knot, and the wrinkles by the knot.
2.  Take 6-12″ of Baker’s Twine and wrap it rather tightly around the center of your m&m’s.  Tie a knot and trim off the extra Baker’s Twine.
3.  If you are attaching the DAD to the Bow Tie with Glue Dots do it now.  You can attach it on either side, top or bottom.  If you are attaching it with Baker’s Twine lay the Bow Tie in place.  Pierce a hole in the desired corner and thread your Baker’s Twine through it.  Tie around the center leaving enough length so it will look good.
4.  Attach the Bow Tie with Glue Dots.  I placed a Glue Dot in the center and at each corner of the Bow Tie and pressed in on well.
5.  Hide this where he won’t find it or the candy will “mysteriously” disappear before Father’s Day. Frown  Or you could make two:  one for now and one for Father’s Day.

Variation for Women and Girls.
Tie a ribbon around the center of the candy into a nice bow.  Add Jumbo Rhinestones or Pearls to the corner of the candy bag for some Bling.

Happy Guy Appreciation Day!

Mother’s Day Cards 2013

I finally have my Mother’s Day cards finished and in the mail.  I am making this extra post because Mother’s Day is this weekend.  I made two versions this year because my Mom’s birthday card was the original for the Regal Rose design.  My DIL2 made one of the Regal Rose ones in Stamp Class last month.  So I came up with a second design.  I was having Stamper’s Block for a couple of days until I decided to make the Regal Rose design for my Sister and my daughters/DIL1.

The top two cards are the Melon Mambo Cards.  The lower 4 cards are the Regal Rose Cards.
Mother's Day Cards

Stamps:  Amazing Family
Loved Ones
Oh Hello
Ink:  VersaMark
Melon Mambo
Tempting Turquoise
Pacific Point Marker
Card Stock:  Regal Rose (Retiring)
Melon Mambo
Whisper White
Vellum Cardstock
Tea Lace Paper Doilies
Big Shot:  Ovals Collection Framelits
Needlepoint Embossing Folders
Heat Embossing:  Heat Tool
Melon Mambo Embossing Powder
Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder
Basic Black Embossing Powder
Other:  Rose Ribbon
Delicate Details Lace
Basic Rhinestones
Sponge Dauber

1.  Cut Regal Rose card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Use the Scallop Border embossing folder with your Big Shot along the bottom of the card front.  Use a sponge dauber and Melon Mambo ink to highlight the embossed border.
2.  Use 3 of the Delicate Details Lace slightly above the Scallop Border on the left side.  Now adhere your Paper Doily with SNAIL.
3.  Use a Sponge Dauber and Tempting Turquoise ink to color two of the Ribbon Roses.  I inked up the top and the bottom.  Set aside to dry or set the color with your Heat Tool.
4.  Heat Embossing.
~Stamp the Oh Hello Chevron Oval with VersaMark ink on Whisper White card stock.  Cover with Melon Mambo Embossing Powder.  Melt with Heat Tool.
~Stamp “You’re an Amazing” with VersaMark ink on Melon Mambo card stock.  Cover with Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder.  Melt with Heat Tool.
~Stamp “Sister” or “Daughter” or other sentiment with Versamark on a 7/8″ strip of Vellum Cardstock.  Cover with Black Embossing Powder.  Melt with Heat Tool.
5.  Cut out the Oval with an Oval Framelit and your Big Shot.  Cut the next larger Oval out of Melon Mambo card stock.  Use scissors to cut around the “You’re an Amazing”.
6.  Adhere the two ovals together with Dimensionals.  Adhere to the center of the Paper Doily with Dimensionals.  Adhere the “You’re An Amazing” with Dimensionals as shown.
7.  Adhere your Vellum sentiment by placing a Glue Dot in the areas under where the flowers and Rhinestone will be.  Add Glue Dots to the top of the Vellum where the flowers will be.  Adhere flowers on top of Glue Dots.
8.  Finish up by adding one Delicate Details Lace circle to the upper left-hand corner.  Put a Rhinestone in the center.  Add a small Rhinestone to the center tip of the crown and other spots as desired.
9.  Admire your wonderful card!

Stamps:  Loved Ones

Card Stock:  Pacific Point
Tempting Turquoise
Melon Mambo
Ink:  VersaMark
Pacific Point Marker
Pacific Point Reinker
Big Shot:  Secret Garden Framelits
Heat Embossing:  Heat Tool
Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder
Other:  Simply Pressed Clay
Simply Pressed Clay Molds
Artisan Embellishment Kit – Lace
Basic Rhinestones

The Day before.  (Optional if making the Simply Pressed Clay Flowers.)
~Press desired amounts of Simply Pressed Clay into the Simply Pressed Flower Molds.  Take it out and add enough Pacific Point Reinker to the clay until  you get the desired color.  It will stay the same color when dry.  (Note:  Work over your Silicone Craft Sheet and keep some Kleenex or Paper Towels handy.  If you don’t want inky fingers you might want to wear disposible gloves to mix the ink into the clay.)
~Now that your Clay is colored press it back into the molds.  Flatten the back with your Bone Folder.
~Gently remove each flower and set them aside to dry.  I am not really sure how long it takes them to dry.
The Next Day
Cut your Pacific Point card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and told at 4-1/4″.
2.  Place the wide Lace from the Artisan Embellishment Kit on the front of your 4″ x 5-1/4″ Melon Mambo card stock.  Don’t cut it yet.  Start at one side and keep your Glue Dots handy.  I put 3 Glue Dots along the edge of the lace and placed it so it was slightly over the edge of my card stock.  I kept adding Glue Dots every 1/2″ or so along the top and bottom of the lace and stretched it tight (so the folds were forced to lay flat).  Then I would add more Glue Dots to the next section.  When I got to the other edge of the card I put Glue Dots on the edge of the card stock and pressed the lace against them.  I then trimmed the lace at both ends so it was straight along the card stock.
3.  Stamp sentiment below the lace.  Cover with Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder.  Melt with Heat Tool.
4.  Stamp desired flowers from Secret Garden stamp set in Pacific Point ink on Tempting Turquoise card stock.  Color parts of the flowers as desired with the Pacific Point Marker.  Cut out using the Secret Garden Framelits and your Big Shot.  Adhere in desired positions with Dimensionals.
5.  I ran my Pacific Point Marker along the raised edges of the Simply Pressed Clay Flowers to emphasize them and add more Dimension.  Adhere your Simply Pressed Clay Flowers to the center of the Secret Garden Flowers with Tombow Glue.  Add Rhinestones to the center of the Clay Flowers, the card front corners, and the sentiment if desired.
6.  Admire your bright, fun card!

Mailing:  When I mail cards like this I add a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I position the card so the back of the card is against the front of the envelope.  (Make sure and address your card BEFORE you put the card in!)  Place the Whisper White card stock over the front of the card and slide them in together.  Put the lumpiest part of the card in first so it will be at the bottom of the envelope.  I did use two stamps on the Melon Mambo cards.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Make Your Own MDS Printables Video

I have finally finished the next My Digital Studio 101 Video – Make Your Own Printables.  This is a simple process.  It took me less than 15 minutes to make the two cards and print them on one sheet of 8-1/2″ x 11″ card stock.  It would have taken me less time but I was talking while making the video.Laughing

Here are the cards all cut, folded, and ready to use!
My Digital Studio Printables made in the videoNow watch the video.  Feel free to pause it while making your own Printable.

My Digital Studio Software
Summer Starfruit card stock included with My Digital Studio.  All Basic card stock colors are included in MDS.  There will be a FREE update sometime after May 31st to add the NEW Colors!
Tea Time II Designer Kit-DSP Pattern 1  #129882
Dahlias – Daffodil Delight  #130979
Satin Ribbon-Certainly Celery  #121063
Celebrate Any Day Designer Kit-Thank you stamp brush in Handsome Hunter #127757

Here are a few notes to help clarify parts of the video and so you can get the project started
1.  Choose “Custom” from the Project Options.  Then choose 8-1/2″ x 11″ Landscape.  Click “Create” and the project will open.
2.  Grid Lines.  Click on the desired line on each ruler.  Lines can be selected and moved using your cursor and mouse.
2a.  Top Ruler Grid Lines:  1/4″, 1/2″, 5-1/4″, 5-1/2″, 5-3/4″, 10-1/2″, 10-3/4″.
2b.  Side Ruler Grid Lines:  1/4″, 1/2″, 4″, 4-1/4″, 4-1/2″, 8″. 8-1/4″.
3.  Cropped DSP measurements:  width:  4.71, height: 3.43
4.  When I talk about using arrows I am talking about using the arrow keys on your keyboard to make fine position adjustments of the item you are working with.
5.  Keyboard Shortcuts:  These are standard shortcuts for most computer programs.
Tip:  If you are using a PC hold down your “CTRL” (Control) Key and then (while still holding down your Control Key) hold down the Key mentioned also.  This means you are holeing down both Keys for a few seconds.  If you are using a MAC follow the same process except hold down your “Apple” (Command) Key instead of the PC “CTRL” Key.  These shortcut codes can also be found in the “File” dropdown menu at the top left of most programs.  Most items in the dropdown menus on this top toolbar will have shortcut codes listed next to the action item.  Items with “*” are MDS Only shortcut codes.
Save = CTRL + S
Start New Project = CTRL + N
Open a Previous Project = CTRL + O
Copy = select the desired item, CTRL + C
Paste = CTRL + V
Cut or Remove = CTRL + X

Undo = CTRL + Z
Select All = CTRL + A
*Select All Embellishments = CTRL + Shift + E
*Group Items so they will stay together when moved = CTRL + G
*Ungroup Grouped Items = CTRL + Shift + G
*Add a Page = CTRL + =
Print = CTRL + P
These are the short cut codes I use most.

6.  Printing.
~Select “Share” then Print on the right sidebar OR use CTRL + P.  They both work!  There is also a button under “File” in the top left corner.
~Look over the items in the right half of the Printing Box.  You will especially want to click the “Properties Button” to select the quality of printing desired.  For your first printings test out several settings and decide which you want to use for different projects.  I started with the one that uses the least amount of ink and move up a couple of choices.  The lower ink choices work for most projects in my opinion.
~Now go to the “Page Setup” Button in the lower left corner under the picture of your project.  Set your Margins.  I use .25 because that is the minimum border my printer will accept.  Test out other Margin Options if you want.  Click OK.
~I always review the options in case I forgot to do something.
~Put Whisper White card stock in your Printer.  Select Print.

Happy Digital Project Printing!

Say Goodbye to the Fancy Favor Die

2013-2014 NEW Catalog Sneak Peek!I will miss the Fancy Favor Die most of all the Big Shot items retiring.  It has been a favorite for years and I will be keeping it because it makes such nice packaging for small gifts.  I have made this Fancy Favor Bag out of the NEW Quatrafancy Designer Series Paper from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog and the Pinwheel Sizzlit from the Spring Catalog which will NOT be carried over into the NEW Annual Catalog. If you buy the Fancy Favor Die from me you will receive a FREE Online Video Class showing four different ways to use your Fancy Favor Die.  Please email me after you have placed your order and I will email you the Class link.  The video on this post is the first video in the class.
Quatrafancy Fancy Favor

Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die #115965
  (available while supplies last)
Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper #130141 (available May 31st)
Pinwheel Sizzlet #129411
 (Available until May 30th)
Sticky Strip
Glue Dots
Wire Cutters

Pinwheel 1.  Choose your card stock color.  You will need a 2″ square.  I used Marina Mist.  Cut it out with your Big Shot.  Remove the card stock from the Sizzlit.  You can use your Piercing Tool to poke out the holes if you want to hold your Pinwheel together with a Brad.
2.  Use your Bone Folder to to curl the four pointed ends that have the holes.
3a.  If using a Brad to connect all the holes I found it easier to put the Brad in from the center and then through each of the points.  This does mean that the tabs open on the top of the pinwheel.
3b.  I found it easier to use Glue Dots to conect the points.  Put the first Glue Dot in the center over the hole.  Place one point over this Glue Dot.  Now put a Glue Dot on the bottom of the next point and adhere it over the first one.  Repeat with the other two points.  Choose your Brad.  Use Wire Cutters to cut off the Tabs.  Put a Glue Dot on the Brad Bottom and adhere to the center of your Pinwheel.
4.  Set Pinwheel aside while you make your Fancy Favor Bag.
1.  Cut your Designer Series Paper at 5-1/2″ x 12″.  Run through your Big Shot using your extended Cutting Pads and the Fancy Favor Die.
2.  Score and fold all score lines-pleat lines on the sides are optional.
3.  Place outside side of Fancy Favor up.  Put Sticky Strip on the side tab next to the crease and at the edge of the tab.  Put Sticky Strip on the bottom edge of both rectangle tabs and one triangle tabs.  Flip the Fancy Favor over and place sticky strip on the edge of the last triangle tab.
4.  Remove sticky Strip backing from side tab.  Adhere side tab to side edge of Fancy Favor.  Lay flat and crease fold lines with Bone Folder.
5.  Open up Fancy Favor and remove Sticky Strip from the bottom tabs.  Put down the Rectangle Tabs first and then the Triangle Tab with the Sticky Strip facing up.  Now put down the last Triangle Tab.  Use your Bone Folder and rub it on the inside bottom of your Fancy Favor to help your Sticky Strip adhere well.
6.  Now add your Pinwheel to the front of your Fancy Favor with Glue Dots.

Happy Fancy Favor Making!

Wildflower Meadow and Label Love Birthday Card

2013-2014 NEW Catalog Sneak Peek!My DIL had her birthday yesterday so I made her Birthday Card using the Wildflower Meadow stamp and Embossing Folder and the Label Love stamp and the Artisan Label Punch from the NEW Catalog.  I also used Bashful Blue card stock which is retiring and the Card Stock is already sold out.  This was a really fun card to make!!!  The NEW things are available May 31st.

I also found out that if you have previously ordered from me and then order from another demonstrator, Stampin’ Up no longer considers you as my customer.  So do your Demonstrator a favor and stick with the same one.  Now there are so many ways you can keep the same Demonstrator even if you are long distance from her.  There is the Hostess Code so you can have Online Workshops/Parties to earn Hostess Benefits.  There are Online Classes and Tutorials.  I will be coming up with More Online Classes and Tutorials during the New Catalog year.
Wildflower Meadow and Label Love Card

Stamps:  Wildflower Meadow w#129165  c#129168
Label Love w#130619  c#130622
Markers:  Pacific Point
Garden Green
Melon Mambo
Card Stock:  Marina Mist
Bashful Blue
Whisper White
Big Shot:  Wildflower Meadows Embossing Folder #129376
Punch:  Artisan Label #130920
Other:  Jumbo Pearls
Basic Rhinestones

1.  Cut your Marina Mist card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Bashful Blue card stock at 4″ x 5-1/4″.
3.  Color your Wildflower Meadows stamp with Markers:  Flowers with Pacific Point, Stems & Leaves with Garden Green, Hummingbird with Melon Mambo.  Lay with rubber side up.  Remoisten with your breath.  Lay Bashful Blue card stock on top of stamp in the desired position.  Use a Clear or Wood Block to  rub over your card stock so your stamped image is good quality.  Remove your stamped card stock from the stamp.  Let dry for a minute or so while you get your Big Shot ready.
4.  Now let’s emboss the card front we just stamped with the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder.  Line up the stamped images inside the the embossing folder in the desired position.  Emboss.  I had Tab 1 closed on the Multipurpose Platform.  Adhere your stamped and embossed card front to your card base.
5.  Now stamp the desired image from the Label Love stamp set onto Whisper White card stock.  I colored my stamp with Markers:  Garden Green for the border, Pacific Point for the Happy Birthday, and Melon Mambo for the “To You.”  Punch out with the Artisan Label Punch.  Adhere in desired position on card front with Dimensionals.
6.  Now for some bling!  I put Jumbo Pearls in the center of the two largest flowers.  I put Basic Rhinestones in the center of the other opened flowers.  My DIL really liked the combination of the Jumbo Pearls and the Basic Rhinestones.  (I need to order some more Basic Pearls!)
7.  Admire this Spring card before sending to someone who needs a fun surprise in the mail!  It is always so nice to receive a beautiful card in the mail among the bills and junk mail.

Happy Stamping!

Seriously–April Paper Pumpkin Projects

I received My Paper Pumpkin Kit on Monday afternoon.  It was a little later than expected.  I know some had received theirs a week earlier. Oh well.  I really had fun with the supplies in this kit.  I do like the “Seriously” stamp, but I am not too fond of the statements on the other two although I did use a Marker to get the “love you” portion of one stamp.  I did one card like the Kit suggested.  I really enjoyed coming up with ideas for the other three cards.  I do have one button and some linen thread left over to use on another project.

Would you like your own Paper Pumpkin Kit to come to your mailbox each month?  Here is more information and also the place to sign up.  Shipping is already included in the price so only tax will be added to the $19.95 price.

Suggested Card
April 2013 Paper Pumpkin-Suggested Card

Whale Card.  I used the Oh Whale stamp set and Clearlit from the Spring 2013 Catalog.  I stamped the Whale in Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate card stock.  I added Googly Eyes from the Holiday 2012 Catalog.
April 2013 Paper Pumpkin-Whale Card

Dress Card.  I have been wanting to use this All Dressed Up Framelit set.  I cut the Dress out of Baja Breeze card stock and used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder on it.  I wrapped the Linen Thread around the waist 5 times and added 3 small Rhinestones.  I cut the Dress form out of Very Vanilla card stock.  I added a Rhinestone for a necklace.  The “Thinking of You” is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  The Hearts are from Tiny Tags-retiring.
April 2013 Paper Pumpkin-Dress Card

Flower Card.  I have been enjoying making 3D flowers since February this year.  I stamped “Seriously” in the talk bubble.  I positioned the Green Tag, then the talk bubble.  I used a Midnight Muse Marker to color the “love you” on the stamp, then stamped it on the small Very Vanilla die cut.  I cut the notch at the end with scissors.  I doubled the Linen Thread and threaded it through two of the button holes and tied a bow.  I punched 4 different Scallop Circles from the Wave card stock.  (2-3/8″, 1-3/4″, 1-1/4″, and 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punches)  I broke down the fibers with my Bone Folder until the card stock split then gently peeled the card stock in half.  I then I rolled each printed part of the Scallop Circle into a little ball.  I unrolled them and left them slightly crinkled, lined them up, pierced a hole and inserted a mini brad  I then crunched each of the Scallop Circles straight up then fluffed them until I liked the way they looked.  I covered the brad with a Twitterpated Button tied with some of the Twine.   I put several Glue Dots on the Tag where I wanted the flower and then attached the flower.

Here is the back page of the Scrapbook Pages we will be making at my class on Friday.  I am so excited because they ordered different Scrappin’ Kits so they will get different looks. I really did have fun putting these Scrapbook pages together.  I was really starting to enjoy the Scrappin’ Kits and now they are all gone.  But you can do the same with Designer Series Papers and coordinating Card Stock.  We will just have to make our own Die Cut or punched embellishments now.  But there are lots of NEW Stamp sets that will look GREAT on Scrap pages!!!!
