First Project Life Page

I was in New Hampshire visiting my daughter when the My Digital Studio Project Life downloads became available.  So we did some digital scrapbooking together.  I chose to focus on the weekend I spent with her and her family.  This took me a little time, but I was playing with the supplies.  The cards are not SVG*, but are a nice size for photo mats.  Enjoy doing your own Project Life pages.  The Project Life format is much easier and less intimidating than regular scrapbooking for me.  This is a 12″ x 12″ page.  *not SVG means you can make them smaller but not larger as you will affect print quality.

Paper Pumpkin Album

This Scrapbook Album is another Paper Pumpkin project.  It comes with 8 wooden people, 3 Binder Rings, chipboard front and back covers, 4 solid color tabbed dividers,  8 pages in 4 different patterned papers, and 1 memorbilia bag.  All pages and covers have 3 punched holes.  The front cover has the words “Real Life” that you can easily punch out if desired.
Paper Pumpkin Real Life Scrapbook Album
1.  I did not want a plain chipboard cover so I use the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper #132994 to put on the front cut to 5″ x 8″.  I put it behind the cover and traced the letters with a pen.  I cut the letters out with Paper Snips.  I used Tombow Multipurpose Glue to adhere the Designer Series Paper to the front cover putting thin glue lines around the edges, holes, and letters, and some in the center.
2.  I chose a wood person for each of my grandchildren.  I used the word bubble stamp that came with the Kit to stamp 3 word bubbles each in Strawberry Slush and Island Indigo.  I then wrote each child’s name in the coordinating Marker.  I used Tombow to adhere the wood people and the word bubbles.
3.  I will be adding pictures of my grandchildren taken since November to the pages.  I will use 1 Tab per month for November, December, January, and February.  There are lots of die cuts with sayings and stickers on to embellish the pages.  The back of each patterned page has lines on for Journaling.

Paper Pumpkin Memory Album

The My Paper Pumpkin Kit for this month was a cute little 5″ x 5″ Memory Book.  It came with 2 blank chipboard covers, 2 stamps, a Basic Black Stampin’ Spot ink pad, some punched Designer Series Paper (DSP) pages, 6×6 DSP, 2 rings to hold the book together, buttons, and arrow clip and 4 sheets of self-adhesive stickers.  I used a few things that were not in the Kit.  These were items that were in my “Pieces” Bowl.  Stuff I started to use for another project but didn’t.  I used some Ribbon Trim Roses (Spring Catalog) that I had colored Melon Mambo with a sponge dauber, a few Basic Rhinestones, a mini brad, some green markers, Mosaic Madness Stamp set and Island Indigo ink, a Paper Doily in Melon Mambo, an Melon Mambo embossed Oval from the Oh Hello Stamp Set, the Mosaic Punch, the Rotary Stamp, a gold embossed Crown from the “You Rule” stamp set. Afternoon Daydream 8×8 Scrabook Page

Here is the back page of the Scrapbook Pages we will be making at my class on Friday.  I am so excited because they ordered different Scrappin’ Kits so they will get different looks. I really did have fun putting these Scrapbook pages together.  I was really starting to enjoy the Scrappin’ Kits and now they are all gone.  But you can do the same with Designer Series Papers and coordinating Card Stock.  We will just have to make our own Die Cut or punched embellishments now.  But there are lots of NEW Stamp sets that will look GREAT on Scrap pages!!!!

Afternoon Daydream Scrapbook Page

We will be making ten double-sided 8″ x 8″ Scrapbook pages at my next Class.  I used the Afternoon Daydream Scrappin’ Kit, but you could use any Scrappin’ Kit or combination of card stock and Designer Series Paper.  I thought I would show you one double-sided page for this post.  This will be the first page in the album.

I will be typing up directions for this class and will also include the cutting directions.  These ten double-sided pages fit in ten page protectors.  If you buy a Scrappin’ Kit from me before May 31st I will email you the directions as a Thank You.  If you buy from My Online Store, please email me and request the directions.  I probably won’t have them finished for a week or two, but can put you on the list.  These directions can be used with any Scrappin’ Kit.  The card stock colors, Designer Series Papers, and Die Cuts will give each set of pages a different look.  These directions will use approximately one half a Scrappin’ Kit.

Wedding Scrapbook Pages. Which Version Do You Like Best?

Here are two versions of some My Digital Studio Scrapbook Pages of my daughter’s wedding.  It took me several tries to get the pictures right since I seem to put the same pictures on both pages.  But I finally found a variety of pictures that I liked and seemed to work well together.

The Wedding Colors were pretty close to Pacific Point and Green Galore.  So that will explain the color combination I chose.  I put Baja Breeze mats under all the photos.  The Green Galore photo mat just looked too “neon” to make me happy, although my daughter might have liked the look.  I knew I wanted several pictures of the bride and groom, a large family shot, and pictures of each of the children.  It was so nice having most of the family together.  My one son is in Germany and was having Student Visa renewal issues.  It sure takes a long time to get all the red tape taken care of-no matter what country you seem to be in.

I also tried a variety of embellishments before I came up with the hearts.  I tried the soft blooms in Very Vanilla.  I tried Paper Daisies which I recolored.  I also experimented and used a Green Galore Drop Shadow.  It did look pretty interesting against the Pacific Point card stock.  I then tried the hearts which I decided I liked best.  Just so you know, some images are in the bleed area.  So if I print these I will have to do a little rearranging and squishing things together.  That’s what I get for turning it off!

Version 1:  I had Drop Shadows on everything including the stamps and text.
Kathleen & Sterling 12x12 Version 1 page 1Kathleen & Sterling 12x12 Version 1 page 2Version 2:  My oldest daughter (the digital scrapbooking & Photoshop genius) suggested that I remove the Drop Shadows from the text and stamps since they don’t occur in real life.  (I have decided that I like them though, but still removed them for this version.)  She suggested I put punches under them if I wanted the Drop Shadows.  So I put punches under the “You Are Loved” hearts and put a small mat around the punch.  I removed the Drop Shadows from the stamps and text.

Triple-Flip Mini Scrapbook Albums

April 30, 2012 Update:  a Tutorial to make this album is now available for $10.

We made this cute album at my class on Friday.  It is such a cute album and can hold fourteen – 4 inch square photos, plus two or three larger photos.  It takes about 2 and 1/2 hours to complete the basic album before you add the photos and embellishments.  It is 5-3/4″ square.

I used a tutorial by Andrea Walford.  Here is a link:  Playful Petals Triple Flip Mini Scrapbook Album.  The Scrappin’ Kit used in the tutorial was in the Summer Mini catalog.  I followed her directions pretty closely.  You can make 2 albums from one Scrappin’ Kit and Whisper White card stock.

I also made one with 8-1/2″ x 11″ card stock and 4 sheets of DSP from the Paper Stacks. I tweaked a few things on this one, just like I do when cooking.  It is really fun!

I am thinking of giving some of these as Christmas Gifts with family pictures in them.  I plan on putting pictures from our Germany trip in the Green one.  I have at least downloaded them from my camera card and looked at them a couple of times.

I decided to go ahead and show you pictures of both albums.  I think they turned out really well.

Playful Petals Triple Flip Album
