I was asked by Sheryl to make sample graduation cards for her PhD in Theology.  I mailed them off last week to her.  You can change the colors to match your school colors.  Because I am away from home and forgot some of the supplies, I am listing the ones I would have used for the ones with the Asterisk*.  This is a standard size card.  I also made a larger card.  The measurements for the large card will be in parenthesis.
PhD Graduation CardPhD Graduation CardCheck out this post I did for my Son’s PhD graduation card.  There are measurements given that may help you.
Here is the post with the original Template.

Template

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Look at the Template.  Cut the card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and cut as shown for the standard card.  (Large Card:  8-1/2″ x 11″.
Measurements shown for small card, change for large card.
Small Card      Large Card
1″                       1-1/2″
2″                      2-1/2″
5-1/4″               6-1/2″
4-1/4″               5-1/2″
2.  Now that the cutting is finished……..  Let’s get ready to make some shiny black paper.
~Cut a piece large enough for the center.
Smaller 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (I think – you might want to measure and decide.)
Larger  4-1/2″ x 5-1/2″
~You will also need enough card stock to trace the Window Box top center Hexagon Thinlit and to punch six Classic Labels.  Don’t cut out yet!  Just guess a little more than you will need.  You will cut and punch later.
3.  Now to make the Black shiny paper.  Cover the center piece with VersaMark ink directly on your paper.  Now cover completely with Clear Embossing Powder.  Melt with your Heat Tool.  Repeat with the the paper for your Hexagon hat and Classic Labels paper.  Let cool for a minute or two.
4.  Glue down the center shiny piece onto the center of the card front.
5.  Hat.  Trace around the Window Box top center Hexagon Thinlit.  Cut out with scissors.  This is the size you want for the Large card.
~To make it the correct size for the small card, cut 1/2″ off each side with your paper trimmer.  Just make sure the edge you are cutting off lines up with the 1/2″ grid line.
~Hat Center.  Cut or punch from Gold Foil Paper either the square-ish small Framelit OR a 1/4″ Circle Punch, or use a brad, Pearl, Rhinestone, or Enamel Shape.
~I outlined the edge of the Hat with a Gold Calligraphy Pen so the hat would not blend in with the card.  I got the pen at Michaels.  Calligraphy pens have a straight edge, so just keep the pen edge straight against the card stock edge.
~Cut or punch a small piece from Gold Foil paper for the center of the hat.  Glue it on.
6.  Sleeve Embellishments.  (I don’t know what they are called.)  Punch six Classic Labels.  Glue three on each sleeve.  Cut off the excess.  Yes, I used the same thing for both card sizes.  It does help to lay your card closed and lay out the Classic Labels on the outsides (sleeves) in order to space them evenly.
7.  Collar.  I also don’t know what the thing is called that goes around their neck.
~RealRed card stock.  Cut a piece of card stock as wide as the center part of the card.  For the Small card the width is 1″, Large card is 1-1/2″.  Figure out the Real Red card sstock’s center measurement.  Make a light pencil mark in the center along the edge.  Cut from the pencil mark to the opposite corner.  The pencil mark will be the wide part of the triangle.  Repeat for the other side.
8.  Attach the Hat.  Hold the hat where you want it paying attention to where it goes over the sleeve.  Put Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back leaving the part that is over the sleeve with no Dimensionals.
9.  CELEBRATE!  YOU ARE FINISHED!!

This fun Birthday Shaker Card can use any patterned paper or stamps to fit what the Birthday Girl or Boy (Woman or Man) likes.  I used the Tasty Treat paper along with the Cool Treat Bundle.  You can choose sequins or small punched shapes to shake in your card.

Stamps:  Cool Treats Photopolymer #142982
Inks:  Flirty Flamingo
Watermelon Wonder
Card Stock:  Flirty Flamingo

Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper (12×12) #142770
Window Sheets (12×12) #142314
Big Shot:  Frozen Treats Framelits #142756

Punch:  Banner Triple #138292
Other:  Sprinkles Embellishments #142741
Embossing Buddy #103083
Adhesives:  Foam Adhesive Strips #141825
Tombow Glue + Sponge Wedge + Silicone Craft Sheet
Glue Dots

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Flirty Flamingo card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Choose the two Framelits you will use as your cut out and frame.
3.  Cut your Card front pieces:
~Whisper White at 4″ x 5-1/4″.
~Patterned Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″. Cut out the window using the smaller Framelit.
~Window Sheet at 3-3/4″ x 5″
~Flirty Flamingo Window Frame:  Put both Framelits on the card stock on your Big Shot Platform.  Make sure the card stock showing between them is even.  Cut.
~Stamp your Ice Cream with Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White card stock with the solid Ice Cream stamps.  Stamp the Ice Cream layers with Watermelon Wonder ink on the solid Ice Cream piece.  Cut out with the coordinating Ice Cream Framelit.
~Cut out both the solid and the detailed Thinlit Ice Cream cone pieces from Crumb Cake card stock.  Attach together with Tombow Glue and sponge wedge on your Silicone Craft Sheet.  Glue the Ice Cream to the top.
~Stamp Happiest Birthday or other words in Watermelon Wonder ink on a Whisper White card stock strip.  Punch the end with the Banner Triple Punch.
4.  Assemble Card Front.
~Glue the Flirty Flamingo Frame around the Window on your patterned paper using Tombow Glue because it has a little wiggle room so you can use your fingers in the window hole to line up both pieces.
~Glue the Window Sheet on the back of the card front.  You just need glue around the edges of the Window Sheet.
~Attach the Happiest Birthday Banner with the adhesive of your choice.
~Attach the Ice Cream Cone with half Stampin’ Dimensionals
5.  Make the Shaker Card.
~Put your Foam Adhesive strips on the back of your card front within about 1/4″ from the window cut-out making sure there are no small gaps for your Sprinkles to escape through.  Rub the part of the Foam Adhesive Strip that is in the center where the sprinkles will be with your Embossing Buddy to remove all the sticky from the sides.  This will help prevent your Sprinkles from sticking to the Foam.  If you look closely, you can see I forgot this step.
~Also put some Foam Adhesive Strips about 1/4″ from the edge of the back side of the card front.
~Optional: Line up the Whisper White 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece with the completed card front to get an idea of where to place some of the Sprinkles with Glue Dots.   Attach a few Sprinkles on the Whisper White piece with Glue Dots.  Cut away the excess Glue Dot that sticks out beyone the Sprinkle if you want a smaller glob of Sprinkles to collect on the Glue Dot.  I just left the Glue Dot as is of all but one of the added Sprinkles.
~Put the desired amount of Sprinkles on the back of the card front inside the Foam Window.  Match up the sides of the Whisper White piece and the card front and attach.
~Attach your Shaker card front to your card base.
6.  Yippee!  You are finished!

Enjoy making your own version of this Shaker Card.  You can buy all the supplies in My Online Store 24/7.

I have been wanting to make a Four Seasons card with the Thoughtful Branches Bundle.  I got this Thoughtful Branches Bundle idea from Daniela Astor.  As usual I tweaked it and made it my own.  It took me about 1 hour to make this card, but it can be displayed all year long.  Yes, it fits in a medium Stampin’ Up! envelope so you can mail it!

1.  Cut:
~Marina Mist card base:  4-1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 2-1/2″ and 5-1/2″.
~Soft Sky:  2-1/4″ x 4″ for Spring, 2-3/4″ x 4″ for Summer, 4″ x 5-1/4″ for Autumn and Winter.
~Soft Suede and Early Espresso card stock:  Cut two full trees each
~Tree Leaves:  Cut one each: Emerald Envy, Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze.
~Small individual Leaves:  Cut one each in Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon
~Stamp and Cut.  Stamp Tree Leaves on Whisper White Twice – once in Garden Green ink and once in Daffodil Delight ink.  Cut out with the Tree Leave Framlit.
~Cut 7 apples from Real Red card stock.
2.  Stamp your Season names on the Soft Sky card stock about 1/4″ from the bottom (or top).  It is easy to center your stamping with the Photopolymer stamps.
-2-1/4″ x 4″ for Spring,
~2-3/4″ x 4″ for Summer,
~4″ x 5-1/4″ for Autumn and Winter.  Lay out your Autumn Tree with the 3 Tree Leaves and stamp Autumn in the center under the tree.  Stamp Winter centered in the small space left.  Put your Winter side in the Softly Falling embossing Folder with the Autumn side sticking out and run through your Big Shot.  It does not matter if part of the snow is on the Autumn part of the card stock.
3.  Attach your Soft Sky pieces to your card base in the coordinating sections.
4.  Spring.  Attach a Soft Suede Tree to the Spring section not adding glue to about 1/2″ on each side of the branches so you do not glue the card open.  😉  Attach the Garden Green stamped and cut Tree Leaves.  Cut 5 “flowers” from the Daffodil Delight Stamped and cut Tree leaves.  Glue The Tree Leaves on not adding glue to the 1/2″ on each side.
5.  Summer.  Attach a Soft Suede Tree to the Summer section centering the trunk and not gluing about 1/4″ on each side of the branches.  Attach the Emerald Envy Tree Leaves making sure the right side is just to the left of the fold line.  Bend the card between Spring and Summer and trim off the right side of the Summer branches and Emerald Envy Tree Leaves so the fold line shows.  Now lay the card flat with the Spring Tree Leaves overlapping the Summer Tree Leaves.  Trim more if necessary to have your card lay flat.
6.  Autumn.  Glue your Always Artichoke, Delightful Dijon, and Cajun Craze Tree Leaves together as shown.  Glue to Early Espresso Tree.  Now Glue so the Left side of the Tree Leaves almost touch the fold on the left by Summer.  Add extra single leaves beside Autumn if desired.
7.  Winter.  Trim your last Early Espresso Tree to fit in the space left beside Autumn.  Glue on.

Sliding Flower Card-Open

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Watch this video for the basic instructions.
2.  Card Stock measurements:
~Elegant Eggplant card base:  5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score at 1/4″ at one end and about 4-3/8″ from the other end.  The end with the 1/4″ flap is the card front.
~Wisteria Wonder card front:  3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″
~Whisper White inside:3-3/4″ x 5″, and about 3/4″ x 3″
3.  Stamp your Wisteria Wonder card front using the Petite Petals flower stamps and Elegant Eggplant ink.  Also stamp the leaves from the Perpetual Calendar stamp set in Garden Green on your card front.  Attach to your card front (the side with the tab) making sure it is going the direction you want.  Cut down the center at about 2″ leaving 1″ uncut at the top and bottom.  (See video.)  Punch out the half Hexagon from the top of your card and save the punched piece for later.
4.  Stamp your Petal Potpourri flower on Elegant Eggplant card stock with Silver Ink.  Punch out.  Put Dimensionals on the end of the 3/4″ x 3″ strip of Whisper White.  Attach to the back of your punched flower.  Slip the end of the Whisper White strip through the slit your cut.  Open the card so you are now working on the inside.  Position your flower as desired, and yes, the strip will most likely be crooked, but it doesn’t matter.  Add Sticky Strip to the Whisper White Strip leaving about 1/4″ space between the end of the Sticky Strip and the slit.  Remove Sticky Strip backing.  Center the 3-3/4″ x 5″ Whisper White piece and align with the top of your card.  Press down on the area with the Sticky Strip.
5.  Add Sticky Strip to the 1/4″ side tab and gently close, making sure the edges of the card stock are even so the Sticky Strip is all inside the card.  Some cards are slightly rounded which makes the inside slide easier.  However, it really annoys some people to have a card that is not flat.  Use a Bone Folder to flatten out your card if desired.
6.  Line up the Whisper White inside with the card front.  Glue on the half Hexagon punched shape to the Whisper White in the punched space so it fits perfectly.  Hold glued shaped for a few seconds.  Pull open the card.  Cut about 2-3″ of Silver Ribbon.  Fold into a “V” shape.  Hold in the position you want. (I hold it with my fingernail.)  Use the Stapler to attach the Ribbon.
7.  Now pull open the Whisper White as far as you can.  Stamp or write on the inside.  I stamped the Yippee Skippee Awesome Thanks in Elegant Eggplant in the center and surrounded it with the small leaves stamped in Garden Green.
8.  Now make your flower slide up and down several times just to have some fun!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Label Thinlit Card out with your Big Shot and Label Thinlit Die.  Crease the score lines with your Bone Folder.  Wasn’t that easy!!!
2.  Cut out two Labels from Whisper White using the Label die in the set.  Also cut out a “i {heart} u” from Whisper White and two “hi”s from Cherry Cobbler.  Watch this video if you need help using Thinlits Dies.
3.  Adhere a “hi” to each Whisper White Label.  Stamp a Little Heart to “dot your ‘i'” using Cherry Cobbler ink.  Adhere the Whisper White Labels to each side of the Label cutout on the card.
4.  Cover the Heart on the “i {heart} u” with Washi Tape trimming the excess off.  Adhere to your card in the desired position.  Note:  OR you can use the Small Heart Punch to punch out a heart to cover the Whisper White heart.
5.  Randomly stamp lots of little hearts using the Silver Metallic ink.
6.  Practice moving your card so you can see both sides of the Label.  Hopefully the person you give it to will enjoy it just as much!  You can write your note on the back of the card.  When it is folded it will fit inside a Medium Envelope.

A customer requested that we make a lemonade card for Stamp Class.  I remember seeing this video a while back.  I used a few different things, as usual, but I think it turned out really cute.
Glass of Lemonade Card

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Petite Pairs w#128706  c#122497
Ink:  Daffodil Delight
Black StayzOn
Card Stock:  Crisp Cantaloupe
White Vellum  #101856
Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper #130141
larger scrap to trace glass onto
Punch:  1″ Circle
Large Oval  #119855
Other:  SNAIL
Simply Scored
Sticky Strip
Stamping Sponge or Sponge Dauber
Two Way Glue Pen
Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Plastic Straw with flexible bending part (from your local store)
Scissors
Plastic 8 ounce glass to trace to make your pattern (from your local store or picnic supply stash)

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Crisp Cantaloupe card stock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Quatrefancy DSP at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to card front.
3.  Trace around your plastic glass onto a scrap of card stock.  Mine is 3-5/8″ tall.  I did have to trim it down.  Cut it out, straightening out the lines as you go.  Use this pattern to cut out your Glass from Vellum.
4.  Score 1/4″ along each tall side of your Glass.  This side will be the “Front or Outside” of your Glass.  Place Sticky Strip along the scored areas.  Leave the red backing on until later.
5.  Use your Sponge or Sponge Dauber to color the inside of your Glass with Daffodil Delight ink.
6.  Run a strip of Two-Way Glue along the top of your Glass.  Make sure it is smooth.  Now put Dazzling Diamonds Glitter over the Two Way Glue.  Flick off the excess and let dry for a minute or two.
7.  Remove the Red backing from one piece of the Sticky Strip.  Make sure the “Bottom” of your Glass is straight and adhere the one side to the card front.  DON’T press the Sticky Strip down firmly yet as you might want to move it.  Now remove the red backing from the  other piece of Sticky Strip.  Round the Glass and gently place the Sticky Strip on the card front.  Adjust if necessary.  Use your Bone Folder to make sure the Sticky Strip is firmly attached.  Whew!  The hard part is done!
8.  Place your straw into the glass to determine how much you need to cut off the straw bottom.  Now do the same for the straw top.  Use 2 Glue Dots to adhere it in the desired position in your Glass.
9.  Punch a 1″ Circle of a scrap of yellow Quatrefancy DSP.  Cut a line up to the Center of the circle.  Put your “Lemon” on your Glass and decide where to place your Glue Dots to attach it to your Glass.

This Pop n’ Cut Dress card was really fun to make!  It is NOT Quick.  It does have a lot of steps that are easy though.  Try making one yourself!  I will give you the supply list and some basic steps, but won’t go into all the details because it would be a super-long post.  It took my class members 45-60 minutes to make it.  They did everything so they can duplicate it at home.  They each said it was worth the effort!

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Bright Blossoms w#125495  c#125497
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise
Card Stock:  Island Indigo

Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper or DSP of your choice
Big Shot:  Card Base Pop n’ Cuts  #130099

Designer Frames Embossing Folder  #123130
Ovals Collection Framelits #129381
Punch:  Extra Large Oval
Other:  Rhinestone
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut Base.  Cut your Island Indigo and Tempting Turquoise card stock at 4-1/4″ x 11″.  Insert into Pop n’ Cuts Card Base (without insert) making sure all cut lines are covered.  (Yes, put both pieces in at the same time.)  Run through your Big Shot.
Pop n' Cut Dress Card inside fold lines2.  Inside Pop-Up.  Put Dress Form Pop n’ Cuts into the Card Base lining up the center lines.  Put Tempting Turquoise card base in so the curvy top part is just above the slits at the bottom of the card base.  Run through your Big Shot.  Take your Bone Folder to help you fold the bottom score line and the bottom of the dress form stand.  Fold as shown in side view photo.  When finished folding close card and rub your Bone Folder over it a few times to flatten it out.
(Note:  Be very careful when gluing the card bases together.  Also be careful gluing the dress to the dress form.  Use a thin sparse line of glue along the edges.  It can get very messy if glue oozes out and can ruin your project.  The  Adhesive Remover didn’t do it’s usual great job on this project.)
3.  Glue.  Pay attention to the part of the Die Cut that is supposed to Pop-Up.  Put Tombow Glue on the back of the Tempting Turquoise EXCEPT for the part that is supposed to Pop-Up.  Make sure you only put a thin line of glue around the Pop-Up parts because you don’t want any glue oozing out and gluing your Pop-Up down.
4.  Cut Dress Forms & Dresses.  Cut two Very Vanilla Dress Forms from the Dress Up Framelits.  Cut two dresses and optional Jacket and hem ruffle.  Assemble outfits on Dress Forms as desired.  Choose which will go on the front and which will go on the inside of the card.
5.  Ovals.  Cut 1 Whisper White larger Oval and sponge edge with Tempting Turquoise ink if desired.  Cut 1 DSP Oval that is smaller.  Glue together.
6.  Card Front.  Cut a strip of Tempting Turquoise 1-5/8″ x 5-1/2″.  Glue in desired position on card front matching the straight edge at the fold line.  Trim the bottom part that hangs over the edge.  Lay out the Ovals and the Dress on the Dress Form in the desired Positions.  Now glue down.
7.  Card Inside.  Carefully glue down the Dress and Dress Form over the Pop-Up Dress Form.  Emboss a Whisper White Oval Designer Frame.  Stamp the vase and flowers on a scrap of Whisper White.  Punch out with the Extra Large Oval Punch.  Glue into center of Frame.  Glue on the “back wall” behind the Dress and Dress Form.
8.  Open and close your card several times and enjoy!

Happy Pop n’ Cut and Dress Designing!

Markers:  Rich Razzleberry
Garden Green
Card Stock:  Rich Razzleberry
Whisper White
Floral District Designer Series Paper #126919
Punches:  2-3/8″ Scallop Circle #118874
1-3/4″ Scallop Circle  #119854
1-1/4″ Scallop Circle  #127811
Other:  Victorial 5/8″ Crochet Trim #118481
3/16″ Brad
SNAIL
Dimensionals
Glue Dots
Bone Folder
Paper Piercing Tool

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Rich Razzleberry card base at 4-1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 3″ and 5-1/2″.   2.  Cut your Rich Razzleberry card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Cut your Floral District Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Also cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock 3-3/4″ wide x 1/4″ taller than your sentiment card stock.  (You can do this after you have stamped your Sentiment.)
3.  Color your sentiment with your Rich Razzleberry and Garden Green Markers.  Stamp on Whisper White card stock.  Cut card stock to fit the sentiment (no wider than 3-1/2″)  Adhere to the Rich Razzleberry sentiment layer.  Adhere in place with SNAIL.
4.  Punch 1 Rich Razzleberry Scallop with each Scallop Punch.  The following technique is called the “Faux Suede Technique.”  Crunch/Roll them up in the smallest little ball you can.  Now use your Bone Folder to smooth out the wrinkles and break down the card stock fibers until you can see it separating into two layers.  Gently peel the layers apart so you have two scallops.  (Note:  I found Rich Razzleberry card stock harder to separate than some of the other colors.  I ended up punching 2 of each size scallop since they tore when I separated them.)  Do this with all your Scallops so you have 2 of each size.  Now roll them up into little balls again.  Kind of smooth them out.  Layer them from largest to smallest and center as well as possible.  Use a Piercing tool to pierce a hole through the center.  Insert brad of your choice.  Crinkle each Scallop Circle as desired to form your flower.
5.  Decide where to place the Scallop Flower and the ribbon.  Tie the ribbon around the Designer Series Paper.  Adhere the Scallop Flower with Glue Dots.  Adhere this layer to your 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card front by putting your SNAIL on the Rich Razzleberry card front.
6.  Put SNAIL on the 3″ end of the card base.  Adhere the bottom of your card front to the 3″ end of your card base.
7.  Stamp your sentiment and either cut it out or punch it out.  Decide how far back you want the easel part of your card to be.  Adhere this sentiment with Dimensional in the position desired to hold up your card front.  You now have your Easel Card made.

Enjoy making your own Easel card!
