Crab Punch Art Birthday Card

My grandson loves Crabs lately and turned 5 on Saturday.  So I decided to try and make him a Punch Art Crab for his birthday card.  I saw this Crab on Pinterest but it was an SVG file not Punch Art.  I decided to make it with Punches.  It was pretty easy after I figured it out.  I only used THREE Punches to make it.  I hope you decide to make one too.

Punching Illustrations
~Tangerine Tango:  You will use a little less than 1/4 sheet Tangerine Tango for your Crab.   Punch from Tangering Tango:  Punch out 2 Extra Large Ovals and 2 Small Ovals.  Punch 6 legs as shown in picture.  Punch 2 arms as shown in picture.  Punch 2 eyelids as shown in picture.  Sponge with Tangerine Tango or Cajun Craze now if desired.  (I wish I would have!)
~Whisper White:  Punch 2 eyes from Whisper White with the Small Oval punch.
~Pacific Point:  Punch 2 eyeballs from Pacific Point with the 1/2″ Circle Punch.
Assembling your Crab
1.  Legs and Arms.  Get out your Silicone Craft Sheet and Tombow Glue.  Place 1 Extra Large Oval in the center.  Lay out the 6 legs and 2 arms where you want them.  Glue them in place with Tombow Glue tearing off the parts that are too long.  You only need about 1/4″ of each piece glued to the back.
2.  Eyes.  Attach the Whisper White eyes between the arms.  Attach the Pacific Point eyeballs to the Whisper White eyes.  Now place the eyelids in the desired postitions.  I drew a line with my Cajun Craze Marker on the bottom edge of the eyelids.  You can add white lines or a comma to each of the eyes if you want.  My White Gel Pens have sprouted legs and ran away again.
3.  Pinchers.
We only have the 2 Tangerine Tango Small Ovals left.  Hold them together and cut out the “V” for the pinchers.  I cut straight down almost halfway for the first cut.  I made the second cut about 1/4″ away from the edge of the first cut, then cut down to meet the end of the first cut.  I drew a line with my Cajun Craze Marker down the center almost to the other side.
1.  Cut your Pacific  Point card base at 5-1/2″ x 8=1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Cut your Bashful Blue at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to card front.
2.  Adhere your 2″ x 5-1/4″ Ocean Waves from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper to the desired height on your card front.
3.  Cut your Crumb Cake card stock at about 1″ x 5-1/2″.  Tear one long edge.  (Optional:  you can sponge the edges if desired.  I just dragged the torn edge on the Baked Brown Sugar ink pad.)  I used the Soft Suede Marker to make little specks of sand on the Crumb Cake card stock.  Adhere at the bottom of the Bashful Blue card stock.
4.  Cut your Whale out of Smoky Slate card stock.  Sponge edges if desired.  Add a Googly Eye or draw on an eye.
5.  Lay your Crab and Whale in the desired positions on the card front.  Adhere.  I used the cut outs from the Whale as a stencil for the Whale’s water spout.  I colored the water in with a Pacific Point Marker.
6.  Stamp your sentiment in Midnight Muse ink on Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the Framelit.  Adhere in desired position.
7.  Admire your Fun Crab Birthday Card!  Give it to one of your favorite children!

Happy Punching!

Wildflower Meadow and Label Love Birthday Card

2013-2014 NEW Catalog Sneak Peek!My DIL had her birthday yesterday so I made her Birthday Card using the Wildflower Meadow stamp and Embossing Folder and the Label Love stamp and the Artisan Label Punch from the NEW Catalog.  I also used Bashful Blue card stock which is retiring and the Card Stock is already sold out.  This was a really fun card to make!!!  The NEW things are available May 31st.

I also found out that if you have previously ordered from me and then order from another demonstrator, Stampin’ Up no longer considers you as my customer.  So do your Demonstrator a favor and stick with the same one.  Now there are so many ways you can keep the same Demonstrator even if you are long distance from her.  There is the Hostess Code so you can have Online Workshops/Parties to earn Hostess Benefits.  There are Online Classes and Tutorials.  I will be coming up with More Online Classes and Tutorials during the New Catalog year.

1.  Cut your Marina Mist card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Bashful Blue card stock at 4″ x 5-1/4″.
3.  Color your Wildflower Meadows stamp with Markers:  Flowers with Pacific Point, Stems & Leaves with Garden Green, Hummingbird with Melon Mambo.  Lay with rubber side up.  Remoisten with your breath.  Lay Bashful Blue card stock on top of stamp in the desired position.  Use a Clear or Wood Block to  rub over your card stock so your stamped image is good quality.  Remove your stamped card stock from the stamp.  Let dry for a minute or so while you get your Big Shot ready.
4.  Now let’s emboss the card front we just stamped with the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder.  Line up the stamped images inside the the embossing folder in the desired position.  Emboss.  I had Tab 1 closed on the Multipurpose Platform.  Adhere your stamped and embossed card front to your card base.
5.  Now stamp the desired image from the Label Love stamp set onto Whisper White card stock.  I colored my stamp with Markers:  Garden Green for the border, Pacific Point for the Happy Birthday, and Melon Mambo for the “To You.”  Punch out with the Artisan Label Punch.  Adhere in desired position on card front with Dimensionals.
6.  Now for some bling!  I put Jumbo Pearls in the center of the two largest flowers.  I put Basic Rhinestones in the center of the other opened flowers.  My DIL really liked the combination of the Jumbo Pearls and the Basic Rhinestones.  (I need to order some more Basic Pearls!)
7.  Admire this Spring card before sending to someone who needs a fun surprise in the mail!  It is always so nice to receive a beautiful card in the mail among the bills and junk mail.

Julia’s Birthday and Things I will miss that are Retiring

I made this double-sided Birthday card for my 5-year-old granddaughter’s birthday.  It uses the Retired 2011-2012 accessories of the Maze and the Game Spinners.  I am disappointed these retired.  I will admit that I stocked up on the Game Spinners and Mazes last year.  They make such fun cards for children!

Julia's Birthday
Julia's Birthday

What will you miss now that the 2012-2013 Retired List is out?  Will you miss the Retiring Colors?  I will miss Pretty in Pink the most.  Which of you favorite stamp sets are Retiring?  Are there any papers you need to finish projects?  What Big Shot Dies are Retiring that are on your Wish List?  I know quite a few of my favorite Big Shot Items are Retiring including the Fancy Favor Die, the Candy Wrapper Die, and the Petal Cone Die.  The big Marker Kit with all the Markers is Retiring!  Lots of Punches are retiring including the Blossom Petals Punch which I have been using a lot lately to make 3D Flowers.   I will miss the Elegant BouquetElegant Lines, and Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folders.  All the Color Collection Brads and Buttons are Retiring.  All the Designer Series Papers, Color Collection Paper Stacks, and Scrapping Kits are Retiring.  I use the Scallop Heart of Heart Embosslit a lot for Wedding and Anniversary cards.

What will you miss most?  What will you regret not buying now to use for your projects?  You know the prices on EBay will be a lot higher!  The remaining items won’t be on the Clearance Rack until Thanksgiving (late November) if Stampin’ Up! does the same as last year.  And there is NO Guarantee that the items you want will show up in the Clearance Rack.  I know the items I want always sell out in the first couple of days.

I always wonder what Stampin’ Up! will be bringing in instead!  We know the NEW ink and card stock colors.  As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator I was able to order a few things from the NEW Catalog on April 24th.  I will receive my order AND my NEW CATALOG sometime today!!!!!    So expect a few projects in the next few weeks using my new toys!

Would you like to have some NEW Catalog items before May 31st?  Contact me about joining me and Stampin’ Up!  You can order select items (up to $155 in merchandise through May 30th) from the NEW Catalog for your $99 Starter Kit.  There is a $300 minimum per quarter sales requirement to remain a member of Stampin’ Up!

I have just opened a NEW Training Site to help those Demonstrators who join me.  So if you don’t live close by (and even if you do) I will have some Training and Help for you.  I will also keep in contact with you via email, phone calls, and maybe even Skype.

Happy Stamping and Dreaming!

Punch Art Birthday Bear Card

This cute little Punch Art Bear is fun to make and give Bear Lovers of all ages!  This is a quick card to put together if you have all the different punches.  The card front  is embossed with the Honeycomb embossing folder since Bears do LOVE Honey.

P.S.  The Retiring List comes out next Wednesday!!!!!  I can also Preorder some things from the NEW Catalog on Wednesday.  (One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator!!!)

I am counting down the days and wondering what wonderful NEW things will be in the NEW Catalog.  I am hoping for a couple of Hexagon Punches and some flocked Window Sheets like the ones in the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Holiday 2012 Catalog.  I always like new things to use with my Big Shot: Embossing Folders, Edgelits & Framelits, and Dies.  I am also excited to see if the NEW Returning Colors are the same as they were before.  I really liked a lot of them and kept the ink pads and a little bit of card stock.  (Of course I will have to get the NEW Ink Pads!)  Now I can compare.  The Designer Series Paper Stacks will be updated with the NEW Colors AND NEW Patterns!

I also found out today that if you join Stampin’ Up! between April 24 and May 30th you can choose Preorder items for your Starter Kit merchandise!!!

Well now that I have shared my excitement with you, let’s get back to our cute Punch Art Birthday Bear Card.

3.  Cut your Gumball Green at 2-1/2″ x 3″.  Cut your Very Vanilla at 2-1/4″ x 2-3/4″.  Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso ink towards the lower left corner since the Bear will cover the upper right corner.  Adhere the Stamped Very Vanilla to the Gumball Green layer.  Lay on top of your card for now.  We will attach it after we have made and attached our Bear.
4.  Now to make your Bear.  Punch the pieces.

Soda Pop Bottle Cap Man’s Card

We are making this fun “Man” Card today at my Stamp Class.  My grandson helped design it.  I gave him a few choices and between us we came up with this card.  The Soda Pop Tops/Bottle Caps are easy to work with and make a great “manly” embellishment.  Most guys do like “hardware” of some sort.  Except for the drying time this card is really quick to make.
Soda Pop Bottle Cap Man's Card

Stamps:  Curly Cute w#117014  c#120510
Ink:  Early Espresso
Card Stock:  Crumb Cake
Chocolate Chip
Very Vanilla
Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper #126898
Big Shot:  Stripes Embossing Folder #123128
Heart Framelits
Punch:  Square-any larger size to cut ends of Banner
Other:  Soda Pop Tops (Bottle Caps) #129388
Paper Trimmer
Crystal Effects #101055
Glue Dots

1.  First we need to do our Soda Pop Tops/Bottle Cap so it can dry while we are making our card.  We will flatten it out with our Big Shot.  Don’t worry, it works great and you don’t need strong muscles to crank the handle!  They look about the same whether you put them with the flat part at the top or touching the cutting pad.  Open all the Tabs on your Big Shot’s Multipurpose Platform.  Put a cutting pad down, as usual.  Now put your Soda Pop Tops/Bottle Cap(s) on the Cutting Pad.  Put a Cutting Pad on top.  Run through your Big Shot.  It makes less cracking sounds than using Framelits.
2.  Cut a 3/4″ square of Chocolate Chip card stock.  Adhere it inside your Soda Pop Tops/Bottle Cap with Glue Dots.  I put one on each corner.  Cut a 1/2″ square of Crumb Cake card stock.  Adhere it with Glue Dots on top of the Chocolate Chip square inside the Soda Pop Tops/Bottle Caps.  Now squeeze in some Crystal Effects.  Gently swirl tip to get rid of any bubbles and to cover the whole inside of your Bottle Cap.  Set aside somewhere so it won’t get bumped.  (Optional:  you can put Glue Dots on the bottom of the Bottle Cap BEFORE you add the Crystal Effects.  Just put the Glue Dot paper over the Glue Dots so you can easily adhere it before the Crystal Effects completely dries.)
3.  Cut your Crumb Cake card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
4.  Cut your Chocolate Chip card stock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Run through your Big Shot with the Stripes embossing folder.  Adhere to card base.  (Note:  I put SNAIL on the card base so I don’t flatten out my embossing.  It also helps to put a Glue Dot on each corner.)
5.  Use the largest smooth Heart Framelit to cut your Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper.  I had the straight edge of the DSP at the part of the Heart Framelit just before it started to curve to make the top of the Heart.  Adhere with SNAIL.  I would recommend putting Glue Dots on the upper corners.
6.  Cut your Very Vanilla 1″ x at least 4-1/4″ for your Banner.  Stamp your sentiment in Early Espresso using the Stamp-a-ma-jig if desired.  Use your Square Punch or Hearts-a-Flutter Banner Framelit or Scissors to cut the notches from your Banner.  Adhere to card front with Dimensionals.
7.  When your Crystal Effects in your Soda Pop Tops/Bottle Cap is dry (at least an hour or two, but best left overnight to dry) adhere with Glue Dots to your Designer Series Paper.
8.  Enjoy the dimension and shine of the Crystal Effects on your Bottle Cap Card!

Happy Stamping!

Blossom Petals Sunflower Punch Art Card

I have really been in the mood for Spring so I made a Sunflower using the Blossom Petals Punch.  It is a pretty quick card to make and reminds me of hot Summer Days as I sit here feeling chilly in my long-sleeved sweater.  We made this card at my 3D Flower Class on Friday.  I hope you enjoy making it!  I made a similar card for my daughter-in-law’s birthday last year.  As usual, you can change the colors and the sentiment to make you happy!  This is the TRUE advantage of making your own cards!

1-3/8″ Square #119877
1-1/4″ Scallop Circle #127811

Thin handled paint brush OR Bone Folder

1.  Cut your Summer Starfruit card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Chocolate Chip layer at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to Summer Starfruit card base.
3.  Cut your Whisper White layer at 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Run through your Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder.  Adhere to Chocolate Chip Layer.
4.  Punch 9 of the long thin Blossom Petals using a 2-1/8″ strip of Daffodil Delight card stock.
5.  Shape your Blossom Petals.  Take one Blossom Petal and your Thin handled paint brush (or Bone Folder) and lay it down the center of the Blossom Petal.  Fold the Petal sides up so it is rounded down the center of the Blossom Petal.  Now take your paint brush handle and curve each side of the Blossom Petal so it is slightly rounded.  Repeat with the other 8 Blossom Petal.
6.  Place a Glue Dot in the center of the bottom edge of your Whisper White layer.  Put a Glue Dot on the top center back of FIVE Blossom Petals.  Set aside with the Glue Dots facing up.  Take your first Blossom Petal and place it with the narrow tip on the Glue Dot and the Blossom Petal facing straight up.  Place the next two along the bottom edge so these three Blossom Petals form an upside-down T.  Place the last two Blossom Petals with Glue Dots on in between the three Blossom Petals that form a T.
7.  Place another Glue Dot in the bottom center on top of the other one that now is covered with Blossom Petal tips.  Place a Glue Dot on the center back of the remaining FOUR Blossom Petals so the Glue Dot will adhere to the bottom layer of Blossom Petals where they touch.  Place each Blossom Petal so the top is in between the lower layer of Blossom Petals as shown.
8.  Punch half a 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle from Chocolate Chip card stock.  Run it through your Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  Adhere to your Sunflower with Glue Dots.
9.  Now for your sentiment.  I will give the dimensions I used for the Perfectly Penned Happy Birthday.  Cut a strip of Daffodil Delight at 1-3/8″ x 5-1/2″.  Cut a strip of Chocolate Chip at 1-5/8″ x 5-1/2″.  Stamp your sentiment in the center of your Daffodil Delight strip.  Use your Square punch to make the “Banner” ends.  Adhere to your Chocolate Chip strip using SNAIL making sure to leave enough space at each end so you get a point instead of a flat part when you trim the Chocolate Chip ends slightly larger than your Daffodil Delight ends using scissors.  Adhere this banner using Dimensionals.
10.  Admire your Sunflower card!

Blossom Punch meets Sycamore Street

I decided to use the Blossom Punch two different ways on the same card with some Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper.  I was inspired to make this card browsing Pinterest.  They used Framelits or Nestabilities.  I am in the mood for flowers.  This winter has been way to COLD for me this year!  We are expecting snow again tonight and I live in southern Arizona where it usually snows just once a year and we have maybe 14 days of cold weather in the winter.  I don’t think we have had 14 days of pleasant weather this winter.  So here is a card with some flowers to remind me that Spring will come and the weather will hopefully be warmer.

Plaid Birthday Cards

Spring Catalog ProjectsBoth my Son and Son-in-Law have Birthdays shortly after Christmas.  Since I can’t seem to make the same card twice, here are two versions of Birthday Cards for these men in my life.  Of course I had to use some Spring 2013 Catalog items!  Since these cards were mailed a while ago and because I didn’t take notes I don’t remember the exact colors I used.  So use what ever color is your man’s favorite when you make this card for him.

Instructions will be for Both Cards unless specified.
1.  Card base.  Cut a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of card stock in the desired color.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  If desired, use the Chevron Embossing Folder on your card front.  Line up your card stock in the folder.  Fold the back of the card underneath the embossing folder.  Run through your Big Shot with all the tabs open.  Crease the top fold again with your fingers trying not to flatten out the embossing.
3.  Choose the Plaid Design you want.  Stamp it three times in the desired ink color on Whisper White card stock.  Stamp the Cake in Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White card stock.  Cut the Cake out with your Paper Snips.  Cut the Plaid images out with Scissors or your Paper Trimmer.
4.  Lay out the Plaid images in the desired positions.  Adhere the upper two images with SNAIL or Tombow Glue.  Adhere the lower Plaid image with Dimensionals.  Add the Cake to the lower Plaid image with Dimensionals.  (Notice I didn’t add any Dazzling Details to Bling up the cakes for the guys!  I hope they appreciated how hard that was for me.)
5a.  Green Banner.  Stamp the sentiment in Midnight Muse ink on Whisper White card stock.  Trim so it is 1″ Tall.  Slip one end through the Hearts a Flutter Banner Framelit.  Cover only the part that will be cut out with the top cutting pad when you run it through your Big Shot.  If you cover the whole card stock piece there will be heavy crease lines in your sentiment.  Repeat with the other end, covering only the part that is being cut with the top cutting pad.  Use the Brush Tip of the Midnight Muse Marker to put a colored edge to your Banner.  Adhere in desired position with Dimensionals.
5b.  Blue Banner.  Stamp sentiment in Real Red Ink on Whisper White card stock.  Trim about 1″ Tall.  Stick one end of your Banner in through the center open part of your Scallop Circle punch.  Position as desired and punch the end.  Repeat with the other side.  Drag the edges of your Banner against your Real Red ink pad.  Adhere in desired position with Dimensionals.
6.  Buttons.  Choose the desired Buttons.  Thread them with Linen Thread.  We do want it nice and rustic for our guys.  Place a Glue Dot on the back to hold the thread onto the button.  Place 2-3 more Glue Dots on the back of each button and adhere them in the desired position on your card.
7.  There.  You now have two versions of Birthday Cards for the men in your life.  Enjoy!

Stamping Sponges

1.  Cut your Melon Mambo card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Take the Needlepoint Border embossing folder of your choice and place it in the desired position along the bottom of your card front.  Fold the card back beneath the embossing folder and run through your Big Shot.  Sponge the raised designs with Melon Mambo ink and your sponge.
3.  Now let’s do our heat embossing.  Stamp “You’re Such An Amazing” on Melon Mambo card stock with VersaMark ink and sprinkle with White Embossing Powder.  Melt with Heat Tool on High.  Now stamp the Chevron Oval from Oh Hello in Versamark ink on Whisper White card stock and sprinkle with Melon Mambo embossing powder.  Melt with Heat Tool on High.  Finally stamp “Mother” on the White Vellum card stock in VersaMark ink and sprinkle with Black embossing powder.  Melt with Heat Tool on Low so you don’t warp the Vellum.  This will take longer to melt.
4.  Trim around “You’re Such An Amazing” so you form a nice rectangle.
5.  Measure the width of the Banner Framelit in the Hearts a Flutter Framelits.  Trim around “Mother” so the strip is wide enough to fit in the Banner Framelit.  Now take it to your Big Shot and place on the Multipurpose Platform with both Tabs closed and a cutting pad on top.  Put the end of the “Mother” banner you are cutting under the Banner Framelit with the other end resting on top of your Banner Framelit.  Cover only the end of the Banner Framelit you are cutting with the top cutting pad.   Leave the part you are not cutting uncovered to prevent a fold line on your banner.  Repeat with the other side.
6.  Cut the embossed Oval Chevron with the desired Oval Framelit.  Use the next larger Oval Framelit to cut a Melon Mambo Oval.  Adhere the two Ovals together with Dimensionals.  Put  Glue Dots under the “M” and the “R” in Mother and adhere to the embossed Chevron Oval.  Adhere all these to the Paper Doily in the desired position.
7.  Lay out pieces in desired positions.  Adhere the Paper Doily layers with SNAIL.  Adhere You’re Amazing with Dimensionals.
8.  Add a circle from the Delicate Details Lace Tape in the desired position.  Add Pearls as shown or as desired.
9.  Admire your lacy feminine card.

You can purchase the items to make this Amazing Card from My Online Store.  Spring Catalog items will be available around noon Mountain Time on January 3, 2013.

Date Night Gift Card Holder

Winter & Christmas Card & Project IdeasI had a request for Gift Cards from my daughter and her husband to use for Date Nights since no family is close enough to babysit.  So this is what my son-in-law is getting for Christmas.  I made a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Gift Card Holder using some paper from the Spring Catalog.  Enjoy your Sneak Peek!
Date Night Fund Gift Card Holder

Timeless Type Jr Alphabet Sizzlits (retired)
Ink:  Melon Mambo
Other:  Paper Trimmer #126889
Stamping Sponges #101610
Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

1.  Score and fold an 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of Raspberry Ripple card stock at 5-1/2″.  This is your card base.
2.  Cut your Primrose Petals card stock 5″ x 8″.  Adhere on your Raspberry Ripple card front.
3.  Cut your Pool Party card stock 4-1/2″ x 7-1/2″.  Adhere on top of the Primrose Petals card stock.
4.  Cut your More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper 3-3/4″ x 6-3/4″.  You might want to sponge the edges first.  The edges of the DSP come pre-sponged so only 2 sides of mine look sponged.  Adhere it to your Pool Party card stock.
5.  Use your Sizzlits Timeless Type Jr Alphabet to cut out the desired letters.  Adhere with Tombow Glue.  You could also use the brush tip of your Raspberry Ripple Marker to just write the desired words on the DSP.
6.  Cut 2 Hearts from the Regal Rose card stock using your Hearts a Flutter Framelits or the Hearts Collection Framelits.  Emboss one heart with the Houndstooth embossing folder and the other heart with the Petals-a-plenty embossing folder.  Sponge them with Melon Mambo ink to emphasize the design.  Adhere with Tombow Glue.
7.  For the Inside of the card:  Cut a piece of 3″ x 8″ piece of Primrose Petals card stock.  Punch either a half a large oval or half a circle along one long edge, centering it along the edge.  Use Tombow Glue or Sticky Strip along the other three sides and adhere it towards the bottom of the inside of your card.  Write what you want on this piece.  Insert Gift Card.
8.  Now you can give a fun gift card to someone and they can keep it in a safe spot.  It is large enough that is shouldn’t be easily misplaced.  After all, when we give a gift card we do want the receiver to use it!
9.  I mailed mine in a decorative bubble envelope I purchased and the postage was $1.10.

You can purchase most of these items (eventually) to make this Date Night Fund Gift Card Holder at My Online Store.

Happy Gift Giving and Christmas!

Happy Birthday Card in Green

My Son’s birthday was Monday.  I bought the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set during the 15% off Stamps Sale.  I have always loved the shape of the tree in the Thought and Prayers stamp set.  His favorite color is green so I used Gumball Green and Garden Green for a monochromatic look.  As usual, it is a pretty quick card to make.  I even tested out my new Texture Boutique to do the embossing with the Argyle Embossing Folder!  Fun!  I hope it will be in the next annual catalog.
Derek's Happy Birthday Card in Green

Stamps:  Thoughts & Prayers  w#113252  c#127805
Curly Cute  w#117014  c#120510
Ink:  Gumball Green
Card Stock:  Gumball Green   card base & card front
Garden Green  2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ and 7/8″ x 3-5/16″
Whisper White  2-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ and 5/8″ x 3″
Big Shot:  Argyle Folder #127750
Other:  SNAIL
Paper Trimmer #126889

1.  I had a lot of trouble not getting extra ink on the card from the part of the stamp at the bottom of the trunk.  Since the tree trunk is so narrow and ink gets on the side part of the rubber, make sure and clean the excess ink off your stamp before stamping.
2.  Embossing Card Front.  Make sure the card front is facing the correct way in the Argyle embossing folder so the embossing will come out how you like it.  Fold the back of the card  behind the embossing folder.  Run through your Big Shot with both tabs open since there is an extra layer of card stock.
3.  I stamped first then trimmed around the stamped images using my Paper Trimmer.  I added 1/4″ to the measurements when cutting the Garden Green card stock.

Here is a digital e-card I made with My Digital Studio 2+ for my daughter’s birthday which was Saturday.  I like to send a digital e-card so they really know I am thinking of them (since the “real” card is usually late).  One time I mailed my niece’s birthday card in plenty of time so I didn’t email her a digital e-card.  She emailed me and asked what happened to her digital card.  I explained that I usually only did that because the “real” card was late.  She really likes getting both!  So now I do both for all my family.  It took me about 20 minutes (and 4 versions) to come up with this card.

Betsy’s Blooms Embossed Birthday Card

I was in the mood to do some heat embossing with my recently acquired Tempting Turquoise Embossing Powder, the Betsy’s Blooms stamp set, and my new super quiet Heat Tool.   I also used the Melon Mambo embossing powder and the Blossom Petals Builder Punch.  This was a fun card to make!  I hope you enjoy making one for yourself or a friend.

3.  Stamp large Blossom with VersaMark ink on Whisper White card stock.  Generously sprinkle Melon Mambo embossing powder over VersaMark Blossom.  Pour excess back into jar.  Heat with Heat Tool on High until all embossing powder is melted.  Punch Melon Mambo flower out with 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle.

Affection Collection in Yellows

I received the Affection Collection stamp set at Convention.  I am catching up on some birthday cards.  I also like to make birthday cards in October for all the family birthdays I have through early January.  I wanted to try the Triple Time Stamping Technique again.  It just amazes me how quick it is and how wonderful it looks!

Punches:  Word Window #119857

Whisper White Measurements:
2″ x 3-1/4″
3″ x 4-1/4″
4″ x 5-1/4″
Daffodil Delight Measurements:

3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score & fold at 4-1/4″ for card base.

1.  Remember to lightly adhere the white layers together before stamping.  Otherwise you end up holding the layers in place which can be difficult.  (I found out the hard way.)
2.  Stamp the focal image from Affection Collection with Summer Starfruit ink in the center.  I decided that next time I will use my Stamp-a-ma-jig.  Stamp the corner design in Summer Starfruit ink and the Artistic Etchings Key in Daffodil Delight.
3.  Layer the Daffodil Delight and Whisper White layers together using SNAIL and making sure the designs match up as you are layering.
4.  Stamp the Affection Collection focal image in Summer Starfruit ink on a scrap of Daffodil Delight card stock.  Punch it out with the Modern Label punch, centering the design.  Stamp Happy Birthday in Summer Starfruit ink on Whisper White card stock.  Punch out with the Word Window punch.  Layer onto the Modern Label with Dimensionals.  Then layer onto the main focal point with Dimensionals.
5.  Admire your bright and cheery Triple Time Birthday Card!

Experiment with different colors and stamp sets and use for any occasion!

Open Sea Triple Time Stamping Card

I made this fun Birthday Card for my DH earlier this month.  I watched Dawn Olchefske’s Triple Time Stamping video and knew I wanted to make this card.  It took less than 10 minutes to make!  Just cut your card stock:  a neutral or lighter color and a darker color.  Center the lighter color pieces on top of each other.  Stamp on top of all layers.  Layer in the darker card stock and you are done!  You have a wonderful card in less than 10 minutes!

Floral District Birthday card

This fun Birthday card was chosen as a favorite by my customers.  It uses the Decorate a Daisy stamp set (w#125989 c#125991), Curly Cute stamp set (w#117014 c#120510), Floral District Designer Series Paper (#126919), 3/8″ Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon (#126845), 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle punch (#118874), Fancy Flower Punch (#118073), 1″ Circle punch (#119868).  I rounded the ends of the sentiment label with a circle punch.  I colored the edges of the Scallop Circle and sentiment by dragging them across my Daffodil Delight ink pad.  The Daisy is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink and punched with the Fancy Flower punch.
