Bunny Treat Box

This Tiny Treat Box decorated with a Punch Art Bunny is ready for Easter or a Spring Treat or small gift.  It is pretty quick to make.  Just two punches and two Markers to make it.  Yes, I did draw on the face.  You can use the Owl Punch for eyes if you want or use googly eyes.  It doesn’t have to be perfect.  You can even let the children draw the face themselves.  It will be cute whoever draws it!
Bunny Box

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes  Wood #128748, Clear #127802
And Many More  Wood #134273,  Clear #134276
Ink:  Black StazOn
Markers:  Basic Black
Blushing Bride

Large Oval  #119855
Other:  Whisper White 5/8″ Organza Ribbon #114319
Silver Ribbon  #132137
Fast Fuse
Glue Dots

1.  Punch one 1-3/4″ Circle and two Large Ovals from Whisper White card stock.
2.  Color the pink parts of the Large Oval ears with your Blushing Bride Marker.
3.  Draw the eyes with your Basic Black Marker.  Draw your triangle nose with your Blushing Bride Marker.  Now draw you mouth and whiskers with the fine tip of your Basic Black Marker.
4.  Put Glue Dots on the bottom front of each ear and attach to the back of your Bunny Head.  If desired, tie a small bow with Silver Ribbon (or another color) and attach to your Bunny as a Bow Tie.
5.  Stamp the Sentiments on the top flap of your Tiny Treat Box.
6.  Measure 6″ of Organza Ribbon cutting the ends at an angle if desired.  Attach to your Tiny Treat Box sides and back with Fast Fuse.  I did fold my box to make sure which side was the front.  It is easier to put the Ribbon on the box when it is flat.
7.  Since the Bunny Head will make it hard to open your box, fold a 3″ piece of Organza Ribbon in half and staple to the lid flap of your box.
8.  Assemble your box:  The flap with the “U”, the sides, then tuck in the long flap.  Flatten from the inside if necessary.  You can put your treats or small gift in now.
9.  Now use Fast Fuse or Glue Dots to attach your Bunny to the front of your Tiny Treat Box.

Happy Easter!

Butterfly Berry Basket

I just LOVE this Berry Basket Die and the Butterfly Thinlits and decided to use them together.  This is a pretty quick and easy project.  The hardest part is choosing the colors.
Butterfly Berry Basket

Card Stock:  Wisteria Wonder
Elegant Eggplant
You can also use Vanilla Coaster Board if you need a heavy-weight Basket.
Big Shot:  Berry Basket Bigz Die #137366
Butterflies Thinlits Dies #137360
Other:  Baker’s Twine
Sticky Strip Adhesive.  You can also use Tombow Glue and/or Staples

Note:  If you want to use Designer Series Paper I would recommend using either Tombow Glue or Transfer sheets to adhere it to either Card Stock OR Coaster Board.
1.  Choose the card stock color for your Berry Basket.  I chose Wisteria Wonder.  Cut your card stock into two 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ pieces.
2.  Stack both pieces of card stock on top of your Berry Basket die.  Put a cutting plate under the die and one cutting plate on top of the card stock, then run through your Big Shot.
3.  Take the two large pieces and fold on the score lines.  Line them up so you will know where to put the Sticky Strip.  I put it next to the line punch outs as shown.  Notice how the pieces are folded.  You can also put the Sticky Strip along the top outside edges now.  You can also use Tombow Glue to attach the bottom pieces together.
4.  Make your Basket Top.  Decide which long pieces you will put around the top of your basket – the scalloped or the straight.  I used the scalloped pieces along the top of the basket and the straight one for the handle.  Take the pieces that will go along the top of the basket and fold the score lines.  Put a small piece of Sticky Strip on the small tabs and attach both pieces so they form a square.
Berry Basket Sticky Strip Placement5.  Now to attach your Basket to your Basket Top.  Lay your Basket flat so the outside is showing.  You can use either Sticky Strip or Tombow Glue OR Staples.  Make sure the Basket side is centered between the Basket Top score lines.
5a.  Sticky Strip.  Put Sticky Strip on the end of each Basket side so you can attach the Basket Top you made in Step 4.  Stand your Basket up. You can either have it upright or upside down when attaching the Basket top.  Choose the direction you think will be easiest.  I like upright, but others like upside down.  The results are the same.  Remove the Red lining on one side and attach it to your Basket making sure the tops align.  Now do the opposite side, the the other sides, one at a time.  Your basic Basket is done!
5b.  Tombow Glue.  Put a line of Tombow Glue along the first top edge.  Attach the Basket Top aligning the top edges.  You might want to use clothespins or paper clips to hold them together until they are dry.  Now do the opposite side the same way, then each of the remaining sides always making sure the tops align.
5c.  Staples.  Using staples to attach the pieces is the quickest and very trendy!  Center the Basket side on the Basket Top.  Staple at each corner of the Basket side.  Repeat with the remaining sides.
6.  Optional Basket Handle.  You can use an extra Basket Top part to make your Handle.  Attach with either a Brad (if you want it to move), or Sticky Strip, Tombow Glue, or Glue Dots.
7.  Decorate as desired.  I cut out two Elegant Eggplant Butterflies with the Thinlits and parchment paper.  Cut out just one Butterfly at a time.  I glued a 3″ piece of Baker’s Twine (about 1-2″ – 3/4″ Baker’s Twine on each Butterfly) connecting the two butterflies and waited a bit for it to dry.  Then I looped the Baker’s Twine and Butterflies over the handle and added a bit more Tombow Glue and glued the Butterflies together.  I held the Butterfly centers together for a few seconds and left them to dry.  When dry you can let them hang from any part of the handle.
8.  Fill as desired.  You can use a cello bag filled with goodies.  You can use crumpled tissue paper, Easter grass, or other light-weight filling and place the treats or gifts on top.  There are so many fun ways to fill this Berry Basket!

Happy Basket Making!

Gift Box Punch Board

Sneak Peek 2014These two boxes were each made using the Gift Box Punch Board (#135863) which will be available August 28th from the Holiday Catalog.  Each uses a 6″ x 6″ piece of card stock.  The Tempting Turquoise one uses the “S” Small Lines and follows the directions given on the Gift Box Punch Board.  The Always Artichoke one uses the “M” Medium Lines and is a cute accident.  The Always Artichoke Box does not use the Diagonal Lines and measures 2-5/8″ square and 1-1/16″ high..  I cut the one side of the triangle formed and glued it to the inside of the box.  The closure punch is included on the Punch Board.  You will have so much fun with the Gift Box Punch Board!

Baby Shower Favor Boxes

My DIL and I made these Baby Shower Favor Boxes for my Daughter’s Baby Shower last Saturday.  We used the Zoo Babies stamp set to go with her Jungle Theme.  We used the Fancy Favor Die which retired a couple of years ago, but I have made a Template so you can make your own.
Baby Shower Favors

Stamps:  Zoo Babies  w#130453  c#130456
Ink:  StazOn Black
Crushed Curry
Smokey Slate
Card Stock:  Pistachio Pudding
Wild Wasabi
Gumball Green (retired)
Whisper White
Big Shot:  Fancy Favor Die (retired)  Template
Punches:  1-1/4″ Circle Punch
1-3/4″ Scallop Circle
2-1/2″ Circle
Other:  Sticky Strip
Tombow Glue
4″ x 6″ Cello Bags #102757
Ribbon or Baker’s Twine

Note:  The Template and video are on a couple of my other sites.  The video is part of a FREE Online Class showing several ways to use the Fancy Favor Box.

1.  Print your Template and cut it out making sure one long side is along the edge of the card stock.  Score and fold along all the score lines.  Put Sticky Strip along the score line for the side tab and along the lower edge of both rectangle bottom flaps and one triangle flap.  Flip it over and put Sticky Strip on the last triangle flap.  We used all three colors of green to make the boxes.  Here is a video to show you how to assemble the Fancy Favor box.
2.  Punch a 2-1/2″ Circle and a 1-3/4″ Scallop Circle from the desired color card stock.
3.  Stamp your Zoo Babies stamps on Whisper White card stock.  We did the Zebra in StazOn Black, the Lion in Crushed Curry, and the Elephant in Smoky Slate.  Punch out with the 1-1/4″ Circle punch.  Put Dimensionals on the back and attach to a Scallop Circle.  Glue these on to the 2-1/2″ Circle and glue the whole thing onto the front of the Fancy Favor box.
4.  Put some candy into a cello bag for each Fancy Favor Box.  Tie closed with ribbon or Baker’s Twine.  Put inside your Favor Box.

Happy Favor Making!

Butterfly Swap

This is a simplified version of This Card.  I used the same Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, just a different pattern and it is 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″.  Instead of Ribbon I used a 1/4″ strip of card stock with a score line down the center.  I did not add the Rhinestones either.  So if you want a Quick and Easy card, this is it!  Enjoy! 4.  Now fold on all the score lines.  Cut the bottom flaps up to the 2″ Score Line as shown.  Completely cut off the little rectangle in the Bottom Flap area under the Tab.
5.  Place Sticky Strip on the Tab next to the fold line, and along the top of the box so it touches the Tab Sticky Strip, but doesn’t overlap it.  Remove the Red Backing along the top.  Cut 8-1/4 inches of Coastal Cabana Stretch Trim.  Adhere it to the Sticky Strip without stretching it.  Leave the extra on for now.
6.  Remove the Sticky Strip backing from the Tab.  Fold the Back Panel on top of the rest of the box (stamped side showing).  Now fold the opposite end over.  It should lay over the Sticky Strip and the box will align properly.  You can cut off the excess Trim or Ribbon now.
7.  Now for the bottom flaps.  Fold in one of the side flaps to start your box bottom.  Put Tombow Glue around the edges.  Fold over the other side flap.  Now fold down the back flap and put glue around the edges.  Fold the Front Flap down now.  Turn the box right side up.  Use your Bone Folder along the box bottom to secure your Glue.
8.  Stamp a sentiment from the Label Love stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on to Whisper White card stock.  Punch it out with the Artisan Label Punch.  Adhere to the front of your box with either Dimensionals or Glue.
9.  What a fun little box to keep on your desk filled with treats or pens.  Or put a gift in and give it to someone special!

Flower Kraft Box: Creped Filter Paper meets Floral Frames Framelits

We made this Flower Box using the Crepe Filter Paper from the Spring 2013 Catalog and a Kraft Box.  We used the Floral Frames Framelits to cut out our flowers.  I used the largest Floral Frames Framelits.  Everyone else chose the next two smaller sizes.  We decorated the front of the box with a smaller flower die cut from the Floral Frames Framelits.   that we stamped with the flower  from the Oh Hello Stamp set.  This is a quick project!  The Flower Box  can be filled with a variety of treats or gifts.  It it is the perfect size for cookies that have been stamped with Sweetly Pressed Cookie Stamps.

1.  Take the whole stack of Crepe Filter Paper Circles.  Choose the Floral Frames Framelit in the size that you want your flower.  Make your sandwich using the Multipurpose Platform with all tabs closed, your cutting pad, the whole stack of the Crepe Filter Paper Circles, your desired Floral Frames Framelit, and finally your top cutting pad.  Yes, you can cut the whole stack at once!  Now, Pierce a hole in the center with your Piercing Tool.  Insert the desired brad.  It will show so choose one that coordinates.  I used a retired brad with a jewel.
2.  Now to shape your flower.  Take the top layer and scrunch it straight up.  Do the same with each layer, scrunching slightly less with each lower level.  Fluff up your Crepe Filter Paper Flower.
3.  Color your Oh Hello Flower with your Primrose Petals Markers.  Remoisten and stamp on Whisper White card stock.  Choose the desired Floral Frames Framelit and cut out the Flower that will decorate the front of your box.  Sponge around the edge with a Stamping Sponge and Primrose Petals ink.  Adhere to the front of your Kraft Box with either SNAIL or Glue Dots
4.  Adhere your Crepe Filter Paper Flower to the top of your box with 4-6 Glue Dots placed close to the center of the bottom layer.
