Eastern Beauty Stamped Background Card

This card features a Stamped Background using the Eastern Beauty stamp set available May 1st as part of the Eastern Palace Starter and Premier Bundles.  You can choose any two or three stamps and the same number of ink colors to make your Stamped Background.  You can stamp in a pattern as shown.  Or stamp randomly with stamped images overlapping.
Eastern Beauty Stamped Background CardThe next few weeks will feature cards made with the Premier Bundle and a few other supplies I could fit in my suitcase as I am at my parents’ house helping out.  My Dad has been in the hospital and was moved to rehab last night.  Yes, I actually made this card this morning with not nearly enough sleep.  I think it turned out pretty well.

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Eastern Beauty Photopolymer #143675
Inks:  Fresh Fig
Tranquil Tide
Lemon Lime Twist
Card Stock:  Thick Whisper White card base
Tranquil Tide from the Eastern Palace Card Stock Pack #144148
Whisper White
Punch:  Classic Label #141491
Other:  Stamping Sponge
Fast Fuse or SNAIL
Stampin’ Dimensionals

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.  I used Thick Whisper White to conserve my colored card stock.
2.  Cut your Tranquil Tide card front layer at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Attach to card base.
3.  Cut your Whisper White at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Choose your Three stamps and three ink colors.  I used Tranquil Tide ink for the curvy square stamp, Fresh Fig for the larger flower stamp, and Lemon Lime Twist for the small center flower.
~Stamp your center stamp first-Curvy Square
~Now stamp your large Flower stamp on each side of the Curvy Square.
~Stamp the Curvy Square in the corners.
~Stamp the small flower in the center of the Curvy Squares and the large Flowers.
NOTE:  You can stamp your greeting in the center Curvy Square if desired.  I didn’t think about doing that until after I was finished stamping.
Your Background is finished.
4.  The stamp I used comes curved.  Straighten it out on a clear block, then stamp.  I used Tranquil Tide ink.
~Punch out with the Classic Label Punch.
~Sponge around the edges with Fresh Fig ink.
~Attach to card front with half Stampin’ Dimensionals.
NOTE:  I did not bring any sponges with me so I used some Kleenex wrapped around my finger to sponge the edges.  While this may seem cheaper, using a Kleenex instead of a sponge is harder to get the sponging effect I want.  The Kleenex also crumbles and removing the crumbles leaves ink smears.  Just so you know.  At least I remembered my Stamp Blocks this time.

You can get the Eastern Palace Bundles starting May 1st.

~Attach one Bow end to the bottom of each Long Bow piece with 2 Glue Dots so the Bow ends stick out evenly at the ends of the Long Bow pieces.
~Now attach the curled rectangle piece around the center of the Bow using a Glue Dot at each end and having the ends meet at the back of the Bow.

Watercolored Flowers Card

You can now order from the NEW 2017 Occasions Catalog and earn 1 FREE Sale-a-bration product for every $50 of products you buy!  The Flowered paper is one of the Sale-a-braton choices.  I colored it with the NEW Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter.
Watercolored Flower card

SUPPLIES:
Watercolor Pencils #141709
Inside the Lines Paper #143830 (Sale-a-bration Product)
Watermelon Wonder card base
Aqua Painter #103954
Tear & Tape
Bone Folder

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Watermelon Wonder card stock at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Decide which way you want your flower patter to go and cut at 4″ x 5-1/4″.
3.  Color with your Watercolor Pencils:
~Flower Petals-Real Red.  Color darker by the center and where the petals meet.
~Flower Centers-Daffodil Delight.  Add a little Early Espresso in the very center.
~Large Leaves and stems-Old Olive
~Small Leaves-Old Olive and Daffodil Delight
~Bee & wings-Daffodil Delight (I didn’t use the Aqua Painter here.
4.  Gently color each item except the bee using your Aqua Painter.  Make sure your brush tip is wet, but do NOT squeeze more water out as you paint as this paper does warp and wrinkle more with more water used.  Clean the brush tip before you move onto a different color.
5.  Let dry.  It does dry pretty quickly, but I did not time how long it took.
6.  Now go back and add some shading to the flower petals and large leaves.  I did use the Aqua Painter on the leaves, but not on the flowers this second time.
7.  Let dry again.
8.  Flatten out your paper with your Bone Folder.  Add Tear & Tape around all four sides.  Center your paper and use your Bone Folder to help it lay flat on your card base.
9.  You can add a greeting if you want, but I liked mine without one.

Happy Watercoloring!
