March 5, 2013 MDS Downloads

There is quite a variety today in the NEW My Digital Studio Downloads.  Easter, a photobook, book label, and the Feel Goods stamp brush set.  My favorite this week is the Easter Ensemble with 7 Designer Series Papers and cute little bunnies!  See the picture below.  (It is the second one listed.)  Isn’t it cute?

Also, remember to sign up for My Paper Pumpkin by Sunday, March 10th if you don’t want to miss any kits.  Each Kit (Except the Welcome Kit and Try It Kit) will be offered for only ONE MONTH!  No second chances.  Please choose me as your Demonstrator:  Nendy Kerr, zip code 85635.  This is a monthly crafting kit subscription ($19.95 shipping included in the price) that will come in the mail every month.  You can skip a month if you need to.  You can cancel at any time.  These kits will have a variety of projects that are quick and easy – about 30 minutes if you follow the directions exactly.  I am not very good at that.  I know the Welcome Kit has 4 cards.  I will make one of them the suggested way and embellish the other three.  Smile

Happy Digital Stamping!

2.  Cut Print Poetry layer at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to card base.
3.  Cut Raspberry Ripple card stock 3-1/2″ x 4-5/8″.  Adhere to card base.
4.  Cut Very Vanilla card stock 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″.  Ink up Swallowtail stamp.  Lay with rubber side up.  Position Very Vanilla in desired position on top of inked Swallowtail Butterfly stamp.  Rub with a Clear Mount or Wood block to get an even stamped image.  Gently remove from stamp by lifting straight up.  If you slide it your image will smear.  Adhere to Raspberry Ripple layer.  Add Jumbo Rhinestone to the Swallowtail Butterfly body.
5.  Stamp background for circle punch.  I used Primrose Petals which I stamped once on scratch paper then onto the area I was going to punch.  Next time I will use Basic Gray ink and stamp it off once.  Stamp sentiment from Tiny Tags in Raspberry Ripple.  Punch out with 1″ Circle Punch.  Punch Scallop Circle from Basic Gray card stock.  Adhere Very Vanilla Circle to Scallop Circle with SNAIL.  Adhere Scallop Circle to Butterfly with Dimensionals in desired position.  Add a small Rhinestone if desired.
6.  Admire your wonderful card!

New Ways to Have Fun Stamping!

Things you should know. The BasicsStampin’ Up! is now offering an Online Class called “The Basics.”  (#133385) It consists of 6 sections to help you use all the Basic Stampin’ Up! Tools to make cards.  There is a PDF file for each section and several short videos showing you how to do portions of some of the projects.  There is a good variety in the projects you can make.  You provide all the supplies.  You can use what you have for most of the supplies by substituting stamp sets, card stock colors, etc.  You can order what you need from My Online Stampin’ Up! store. The File will show up just like a My Digital Studio Download.  Click your Operation System (Mac or Windows), then next to your item click “For Other Applications.”  Make sure and choose a place on your computer so you can find them again!  I made a new folder called “Stampin’ Up! Online Classes” and put it with other Stamping instructions I have.
PC Instructions.  The files will be downloaded as archive files (.zip) that you can then extract and save on your computer. When you click on the download link, an extraction program will automatically launch. Choose the location where you would like to save the files (be sure to note where you save them). Follow the prompts on the extraction program, then navigate to the location where you saved the files. Click on the file and open.  Start your Online Class.
Mac Instructions.  When you click on the download link, the file will be mounted as a drive. Once it is mounted, open the drive and drag and drop the files to the location of your choice on your hard drive. The files can then be opened.  Start your Online Class.
Another fun thing Stampin’ Up! is offering is called Paper Pumpkin.  You will get a complete kit in the mail every month!  All supplies will be included except adhesive.  This includes Clear Mount Stamps, 1 Clear Mount Block in your Welcome Kit, Stampin’ Spot Ink Pads (which you can reink with the Ink Refills from Stampin’ Up!),   All the card stock will already be cut the size you need .  These are quick projects to add a little fun to your life.  There will be a variety of projects over the months.  The Welcome Kit has 4 cards.  There will be cards, of course, and also 3D and decor items.  It will be a fun surprise in your mailbox each month!!  The projects are perfect for beginning crafters and crafters who are short on craft time.  Each project should take about 30 minutes or so to complete.  This is a monthly subscription service for $19.95 a month (shipping IS included in the price!).  You can skip a month if you need to.  You can cancel at any time.  Please contact me by March 6th to subscribe!  I will be posting the projects I make with my Kit on my blog each month, most likely adding some embellishment if I feel like it.  You need to be subscribed by March 10th to get your Magic Surprise Welcome Kit in the mail shortly after March 15th.  If you have any questions or you want to subscribe, please email me.   I will need to call you if you want to subscribe so leave me your phone number, time zone, and a good time for me to call you.

THE HOSTESS CODE
Have you wanted to host a Workshop so you could earn the Hostess Benefits, but you live too far away from me?  Stampin’ Up! is helping us.  The Hostess Code is here.  Your guests go to My Online Store and enter the Hostess Code you give them, then place their order Online.  They will have a certain period of time to place their orders.  It will be shipped directly to their home.  I will place your order the day after the the Online Order period and we know how many Hostess Benefits you earned.  The orders need to total at least $150 in merchandise to earn Hostess Benefits.  So if you have 5 friends that each order $30 or more you will qualify for Hostess Benefits.  We can also arrange for you to have Class or Workshop in your home for your guests to come to.  Please email me if you are interested.  It may be easier if we talk on the phone so please leave me your phone number, time zone, and a good time for me to call you.

Enjoy all these new, fun ways to keep you a Happy Stamper!

Moving Forward-Child’s Birthday Card

My grandson turned 2 on Monday and so, of course, I made him a card.  This time I used  the Moving Forward stamp set.  Three Dollars is donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities for each Moving Forward stamp set purchased.  I know we appreciated staying at the Ronald McDonald House when my son had surgery.  Here are more details about Stampin’ Up’s partnership with the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Child's Birthday Card

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  Moving Forward w#126320  c#126322
Ink:  Pacific Point ink pad & marker
Card Stock:  Pacific Point
Whisper White
Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper #130670
Big Shot:  Ovals Collection #129381

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Pacific Point card base at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Cut your Whisper White and Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Make sure the clouds are going the correct way.  I had to cut another piece.  Embarassed  Adhere the Cloud Designer Series Paper to one side of your card base using the Tombow Glue.  (Note:  I always do a “Post Card” for younger children and seal it in a Translucent Envelope so they can hold it without damaging it.  I also use Tombow Glue to adhere all the parts when making cards for children.)
2.  Stamp the “Blimp” image in Pacific Point ink on Whisper White card stock.  Cut it out using the coordinating size Oval Framelit and your Big Shot.  Adhere to the “Clouds” with Tombow Glue leaving enough room to write the child’s name underneath.  You might as well write their name now in the space you left.
3.  Cut the “2” out of Pacific Point card stock using the Typeset Alphabet Die and your Big Shot.  Punch 2 Small Oval “Balloons”  out of Pacific Point card stock.  Adhere in desired positions using Tombow Glue.  Draw Balloon Strings with your Pacific Point marker.  You can also decorate your Balloons with your Marker if desired.
4.  Write your message on the 4″ x 5-1/4″ Whisper White card stock you cut earlier.  Adhere to the back of your card with Tombow Glue.
5.  Seal tightly in the Translucent Envelope.  Your card will still fit in a Medium Stampin’ Up! envelope.
6.  Mail or give to one of your favorite children!

Blossom Petals Sunflower Punch Art Card

I have really been in the mood for Spring so I made a Sunflower using the Blossom Petals Punch.  It is a pretty quick card to make and reminds me of hot Summer Days as I sit here feeling chilly in my long-sleeved sweater.  We made this card at my 3D Flower Class on Friday.  I hope you enjoy making it!  I made a similar card for my daughter-in-law’s birthday last year.  As usual, you can change the colors and the sentiment to make you happy!  This is the TRUE advantage of making your own cards!
Blossom Petals Punch Sunflower

SUPPLIES:
Stamps:
 Perfectly Penned w#122890  c#122892
OR the sentiment of your choice
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Card Stock:  Daffodil Delight
Whisper White
Chocolate Chip
Summer Starfruit
Big Shot:  Argyle Embossing Folder #127750
Square Lattice Embossing Folder #119976
OR Embossing folders of your choice
Punches:  Blossom Petals #121808
1-3/8″ Square #119877
1-1/4″ Scallop Circle #127811
Other:  Glue Dots (Lots!!) #103683
SNAIL
Dimensionals
Thin handled paint brush OR Bone Folder
Scissors

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Summer Starfruit card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.
2.  Cut your Chocolate Chip layer at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Adhere to Summer Starfruit card base.
3.  Cut your Whisper White layer at 3-3/4″ x 5″.  Run through your Big Shot using the Argyle embossing folder.  Adhere to Chocolate Chip Layer.
4.  Punch 9 of the long thin Blossom Petals using a 2-1/8″ strip of Daffodil Delight card stock.
5.  Shape your Blossom Petals.  Take one Blossom Petal and your Thin handled paint brush (or Bone Folder) and lay it down the center of the Blossom Petal.  Fold the Petal sides up so it is rounded down the center of the Blossom Petal.  Now take your paint brush handle and curve each side of the Blossom Petal so it is slightly rounded.  Repeat with the other 8 Blossom Petal.
6.  Place a Glue Dot in the center of the bottom edge of your Whisper White layer.  Put a Glue Dot on the top center back of FIVE Blossom Petals.  Set aside with the Glue Dots facing up.  Take your first Blossom Petal and place it with the narrow tip on the Glue Dot and the Blossom Petal facing straight up.  Place the next two along the bottom edge so these three Blossom Petals form an upside-down T.  Place the last two Blossom Petals with Glue Dots on in between the three Blossom Petals that form a T.
7.  Place another Glue Dot in the bottom center on top of the other one that now is covered with Blossom Petal tips.  Place a Glue Dot on the center back of the remaining FOUR Blossom Petals so the Glue Dot will adhere to the bottom layer of Blossom Petals where they touch.  Place each Blossom Petal so the top is in between the lower layer of Blossom Petals as shown.
8.  Punch half a 1-1/4″ Scallop Circle from Chocolate Chip card stock.  Run it through your Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder.  Adhere to your Sunflower with Glue Dots.
9.  Now for your sentiment.  I will give the dimensions I used for the Perfectly Penned Happy Birthday.  Cut a strip of Daffodil Delight at 1-3/8″ x 5-1/2″.  Cut a strip of Chocolate Chip at 1-5/8″ x 5-1/2″.  Stamp your sentiment in the center of your Daffodil Delight strip.  Use your Square punch to make the “Banner” ends.  Adhere to your Chocolate Chip strip using SNAIL making sure to leave enough space at each end so you get a point instead of a flat part when you trim the Chocolate Chip ends slightly larger than your Daffodil Delight ends using scissors.  Adhere this banner using Dimensionals.
10.  Admire your Sunflower card!

You can get all the supplies to make this Sunflower Card at My Online Store.

Happy Stamping!

Floral District Easel Card with Scallop Punch Flower

I made this Easel Card for a new member of my group using Floral District Designer Series Paper and a Scallop Punch Flower.  Easel Cards are so simple to make and they impress others.  Have fun making one of your own!

Markers:  Rich Razzleberry
Garden Green
Card Stock:  Rich Razzleberry

Punches:  2-3/8″ Scallop Circle #118874
1-3/4″ Scallop Circle  #119854

Other:  Victorial 5/8″ Crochet Trim #118481
3/16″ Brad
SNAIL
Dimensionals
Glue Dots
Bone Folder
Paper Piercing Tool

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Rich Razzleberry card base at 4-1/4″ x 11″.  Score and fold at 3″ and 5-1/2″.   2.  Cut your Rich Razzleberry card front at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Cut your Floral District Designer Series Paper at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Also cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock 3-3/4″ wide x 1/4″ taller than your sentiment card stock.  (You can do this after you have stamped your Sentiment.)
3.  Color your sentiment with your Rich Razzleberry and Garden Green Markers.  Stamp on Whisper White card stock.  Cut card stock to fit the sentiment (no wider than 3-1/2″)  Adhere to the Rich Razzleberry sentiment layer.  Adhere in place with SNAIL.
4.  Punch 1 Rich Razzleberry Scallop with each Scallop Punch.  The following technique is called the “Faux Suede Technique.”  Crunch/Roll them up in the smallest little ball you can.  Now use your Bone Folder to smooth out the wrinkles and break down the card stock fibers until you can see it separating into two layers.  Gently peel the layers apart so you have two scallops.  (Note:  I found Rich Razzleberry card stock harder to separate than some of the other colors.  I ended up punching 2 of each size scallop since they tore when I separated them.)  Do this with all your Scallops so you have 2 of each size.  Now roll them up into little balls again.  Kind of smooth them out.  Layer them from largest to smallest and center as well as possible.  Use a Piercing tool to pierce a hole through the center.  Insert brad of your choice.  Crinkle each Scallop Circle as desired to form your flower.
5.  Decide where to place the Scallop Flower and the ribbon.  Tie the ribbon around the Designer Series Paper.  Adhere the Scallop Flower with Glue Dots.  Adhere this layer to your 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card front by putting your SNAIL on the Rich Razzleberry card front.
6.  Put SNAIL on the 3″ end of the card base.  Adhere the bottom of your card front to the 3″ end of your card base.
7.  Stamp your sentiment and either cut it out or punch it out.  Decide how far back you want the easel part of your card to be.  Adhere this sentiment with Dimensional in the position desired to hold up your card front.  You now have your Easel Card made.

Enjoy making your own Easel card!

Blossom Punch meets Sycamore Street

I decided to use the Blossom Punch two different ways on the same card with some Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper.  I was inspired to make this card browsing Pinterest.  They used Framelits or Nestabilities.  I am in the mood for flowers.  This winter has been way to COLD for me this year!  We are expecting snow again tonight and I live in southern Arizona where it usually snows just once a year and we have maybe 14 days of cold weather in the winter.  I don’t think we have had 14 days of pleasant weather this winter.  So here is a card with some flowers to remind me that Spring will come and the weather will hopefully be warmer.

Th Oh Hello stamp set is so versatile.  You can get a lot of different looks using it.  This card originally started out trying to use some More Amore Designer Series Paper for the card front.  I tried several different variations and then decided to skip the card front and try everything on the Cherry Cobbler card base.  I really like it!  I hope you have fun when you make it!

2.  Stamp two of the Oh Hello patterned arrows and the Oh Hello Chevron Oval in VersaMark ink on Whisper White card stock.  Dump your Cherry Cobbler embossing powder over all your stamped images.  Shake off.  Melt with Heat Tool.  Cut your Oh Hello Oval out with the coordinating Oval Framelit and your Big Shot.  Cut the Oh Hello Patterned Arrows out with your Scissors so there are 4 corner pieces.
3.  Adhere the Oh Hello Patterned Arrows corner pieces with SNAIL to your Cherry Cobbler card front corners.  Adhere the Oh Hello Chevron Oval with Dimensionals to the center of your Cherry Cobbler card front.
4.  Color the Oh Hello Flower Stamp with your Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Markers.  Stamp on Whisper White card stock close enough to the edge so you can easily punch it out.  Now punch it out with the Scallop Oval Punch.  Punch the Oval out of Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Adhere the Flower to the Cherry Cobbler Punched Oval with Dimentionals.  Adhere the Cherry Cobbler Oval to the Chevron Oval with Dimensionals.
5.  You now have a card you can use for any occasion just to make someone’s day better!

Happy Stamping!

Boutique Designer Box & Card

I thought the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit looked fun in the Spring 2013 Catalog and I finally made one.  It was quick and easy.  The boxes are die cut.  The die cuts on the sheet are not adhesive so you can do a variety of things with them although I did adhere everything down with SNAIL and Glue Dots.  The Doilies are laser cut!  There are also little note cards that come with the Kit.  They come scored with a printed design on one half and a solid color on the other half.  You can really have a lot of fun putting together different combinations using the embellishments.  Except for adhesive I just used what was in the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit.  You can also choose to Bundle it with a stamp set.
Boutique Box and CardSo have some fun making these little Boutique Boxes and brightening someone’s day with them!

Have Fun!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!Happy Valentine’s Day!  Here is a My Digital Studio Valentine Card I made just for you.  I used the Coloring Tool to color the images in the Heart.  I used Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple.  Make one today for your Family and Friends and wish them a Happy Valentine’s Day!  You could also make this card with “Real Card Stock!”
Happy Valentine's Day!

MY DIGITAL STUDIO SUPPLIES:
Stamps:  You Are Loved-Heart #129331
My Cute Valentine Designer Kit-Happy Heart Day in Raspberry Ripple #129344
Border Punch:  Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch in Primrose Petals #122151

TIPS:
1.  When coloring in the Heart images I used Gumball Green for all the Leaf-Like images and Raspberry Ripple for the Flowers and Bird.  I found it helpful to make the image a little larger with the Zoom function.  I could then get the brush to color in the correct places without going into an area I wanted the other color.  But, like my grandson says, you can’t color outside the lines.  Well you can if you use the Free Form Brush, but that’s another project.
2.  You could make this as a “Real Card Stock” Card if you colored the images on the stamp with your Markers.  The Heart would be a little smaller.  I would probably use an embossing folder for the background if I did this in “Real Card Stock” and ink.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

My NEW Favicon and Get Organized with the Newest MDS Downloads

What is a Favicon?  Do you see the little pictures on your tabs at the top of your browser?  That little picture is called a Favicon.  I was tired of seeing a piece of paper picture at the top of mine so I finally found someone to teach me how to do it.  I designed mine using My Digital Studio.  Now, why does that surprise you?  You should know by now that I really LIKE using My Digital Studio.  In fact the Valentine card I will be posting tomorrow was made with My Digital Studio.

Now back to the Favicon.  You need a square 16 x 16 pixel image.  Super-small!  But you can select or design any image and there are programs online to help you turn your image into a Favicon in less than 5 minutes.  I will show you what I started with before I downsized it.
Nendy's FaviconI selected the square Tag.  I left the Background alone.  I used the Fancy Flower Punch and colored it Bashful Blue.  I added a Brilliant Blue Mat.  I found an “N” I liked and colored it Brilliant Blue also.  I saved it as a .png file.  Then went to this site:  http://www.favicon.cc/, uploaded and saved my image.  The WordPress Theme I am using (today it is Mantra) has a place to upload a favicon so I did that.  And so now you can see my little flower favicon with an “N” up in your Browser Tab.

Don’t forget–today is the last day to snatch up content discs on the Clearance Rack for just $1 each.

Happy Digital Stamping and Organizing!

Regal Rose Secret Garden Petite Purse

I made the parts for this cute little Purse while filming my Big Shot Basics video.  I put it together as I was cleaning up and decided to see how the Petite Purse would look with a flower.  I think it is really cute!  This one is make with Regal Rose card stock.  The flowers are stamped in Primrose Petals ink and adhered to the purse with Dimensionals.  Choose you favorite color(s) when you make your Petite Purse.  This Purse has been well loved by my grandson as you can tell by the handle.  Smile

(Secret Garden Stamp & Framelit Bundle:  w#131100  c#131099)
Card Stock:  Regal Rose
Whisper White
Big Shot:  Petite Purse Bigz L Die #125606
Secret Garden Framelits #129372
Other:  Sticky Strip
Glue Dots
Dimensionals

TIPS:
1.  Cut out your Regal Rose Petite Purse with your Big Shot using the Petite Purse Bigz L Die.  I used a Crease Pad on top so I could see the creases better.  Adhere the side tabs with Sticky Strip.  Gently slide the tip of your Paper Snips into the front slot to make it easier to insert the little flap.  Attach the Handle with Glue Dots inside the purse.
2.  Stamp the desired Secret Garden flowers in Primrose Petals ink on Whisper White card stock.  Cut out with the coordinating Secret Garden Framelits.  Adhere the two flowers together with Dimensionals.  Adhere layered flower to the purse front flap by placing 3 half Dimensionals along the “top” of the Front Flap (See photo inset).  Put 1 half Dimensional on the bottom back of the layered flower.  Remove Dimensional backing and gently adhere flower to front flap.  When it is positioned as desired, press on Dimensionals to adhere firmly.
3.  Fill your cute Secret Garden Purse with some small goodies.  It will hold 4 Hershey Nuggets.

Shabby Chic Valentine & All Occasion Cards

Happy Valentine's Day!Here is a Shabby Chic Valentine card that was originally an All-Occasions card.  It uses the new Distressing Tool from the Spring 2013 Catalog.  I normally don’t like the distressed look, but this was fun to do so you might see more.  I LOVE the distressed look on the Core’dinations card stock!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Cut your Raspberry Ripple card base at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score and fold at 4-1/4″.  Sponge around the edges with your Sponge Dauber and Primrose Petals ink.
2.  Cut your Primrose Petals Core’dinations card stock at 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Run through your Big Shot with the Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  Use the Distressing Tool around the edges.  (Watch my Edge Techniques video to see how I use the Distressing Tool.  It is at the end.)  I like to use the center blade to get a more rolled effect.  Use the Sanding Block and sand the raised embossing using circular motions.  Sand until you get the look you want.  Put SNAIL on the card base and adhere your embossed layer.
3.  Tie your Bow.  I gave each stamper 14″.  I used 12″ when I cut it off the spool.
4a.  Valentine Card.  Cut a Heart from the More Amore Designer Series Paper.  Stamp the “Be My Valentine” sentiment in Raspberry Ripple ink.  (Next time I think I will Heat Emboss it with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder.)  Sponge the edges using your Sponge Dauber and Primrose Petals ink.  Adhere to Paper Doily using Dimensionals.  (Note:  I have been using a double layer of Dimensionals to adhere these Hearts.)  Position Paper Doily and Ribbon as desired.  Adhere the Paper Doily with SNAIL on the solid center.  Adhere Ribbon with Glue Dots.
4b.  All Occasion Card.  Stamp “Feel Goods” sentiment on Whisper White card stock using Raspberry Ripple ink.  Cut around it with scissors.  Don’t worry about getting it perfectly rounded because the Distress Tool will do that for you.  Now use your Distress Tool to round the edges.  Sponge the edges with your Sponge Dauber and Primrose Petals ink.  Lightly sponge the center of your Paper Doily.  Adhere your Sentiment with Dimensionals.  Position Ribbon and Paper Doily as desired.  Adhere the Paper Doily with SNAIL on the solid center.  Adhere Ribbon with Glue Dots.
5.  Admire your Shabby Chic Card!

You can get all the items to make these cards at My Online Store.  Remember that you can earn 1 FREE Sale-a-bration item for each $50 you spend through March 22, 2013!

It’s Chilly Out Here! Winter Card and newest MDS Downloads

We have had a much colder winter than usual in my opinion so I made a card with My Digital Studio to show what I need to help me keep warm.  I hope you enjoy the card along with the newest My Digital Studio Downloads:  two stamp brush sets, Office Labels, a Wedding Photobook template, and a “Love” Designer Template you can print and hang up.  I like the two stamps sets and the Office Labels.
